You touched on a really good point right at the start. Up-cycling is a fantastic way for those who are interested in exploring woodworking but are intimidated/not sure on where to start. Always good to put one in the win column, and this one came out great.
Hey Gorgeous, it's good to see you back at it again. What an amazing transformation and lights really do set it off well and I love the colour. Keep up the good work and looking forward to the next one.
I love this piece so much! You did a brilliant job on it Ainslee! ❤ Where do you get your figure 8 fasteners? I’ve searched my Bunnings from top to bottom and can’t find them anywhere… thanks Paula x
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. If you google Figure 8 bunnings it should be the first result. I find searching on the bunnings website not great but you pop it into Google with Bunnings on the end it does a better job of finding it. They are super handy for a bunch of applications.
Perfect thanks. I love the Bunnings app because I just scan it at the checkout and it saves my receipts. I just found them on the app and of course my store doesn’t stock them. I do live on the NSW south coast so we have a small store. Thanks for replying x
Fantastic job there Ainslee! What a lovely piece you have created! I share your love of recycling and that was recycling on the top level! I too use a stick to switch things on sometimes - its my walking stick [cane] :-) Mistakes means you are trying goes for calligraphy also - especially when learning a new script, ink and paper are cheaper than wood though! Thanks for sharing this - wonderful, inspiring work! Eryk :-)
Hey Erky Thanks for stopping by. Love that you picked up on the stick to turn on the dust collector :) Thinking I might re arrange the workshop in the new year and move the dust collector so I can reach it a little easier. The great lesson I have learnt through woodworking is Mistakes are just part of the game and its such a great lesson to learn. Hope you are well :)
Great job, it looks fantastic and I really appreciate you being honest about getting discouraged with other projects as I can totally identify with that. Your attitude inspires me to carry on. Thanks very much.
Tbh as a artist the artwork was the first thing that I noticed when you put it all together she shows a lot of potential ❤ I love the work you do and it’s great to see a female Australian maker
Right!? I did a video a short while ago on my edge sander that had a very tidy little mask wipe with Rufus walking past a fountain that took me like 1/2 an hour to do. The tough edits are by far the most satisfying when they work.

Turned out great Ainslee. The quarter round wings really make the piece and Manda’s collection looks so good in it under lights
Thanks Vic. The round wings were a good call from Manda for sure. She is very happy they are now up in lights :)

@@graduallywizardly 100% true! Will you be at the meet up on Saturday?
Absolutely. It’s happening a $10 uber from my house, it’d be weird if I didn’t go…
