  • After weeks they finally broke open the dormer window to replace the rotted wood and leaking windows. It went... worse than expected? In all sorts of ways. Enjoy!

I don't know who's gonna love that big dormer window more, you or the plants? Wonderful progress despite the weather.😻

Hahaha I can totally understand this! Now looking back it was an adventure, being in it felt like a battle. I do still have headaches a lot more in the aftermath but I have faith that will get better again like it has before ❤️👌🏻

It's incredible how houses last for so many years, 120 years is a long time!

Haha I guess I didn't look at it that way as I grew up in a farmhouse that was built in 1754.. So built in 1900 didn't seem very old 🤭😂

@@plantwithroos that's incredible!❤ I can't even wrap my mind around that. 😅US houses are not made to last like that. I wish they were. A roof is good for 20 years here

Yeah it is different here in Europe, tho houses aren't normally as old as my parents' was (before it burned to the ground 3 years ago). I learned that about the States from people on TV shows saying houses were very old that we would consider not old at all 😅 I went to uni in Utrecht, where the lecture halls are in very old buildings, coming out there would often be tourists taking photos 🤭

I can’t believe there was no insulation around the dormer window. Beautiful large window now. Can’t wait for next Sunday.

Haha yeah it's a lot better now! I didn't show but they put thick insulation on the top of the roof, under the new roof cover 👌🏻❤️

@@plantwithroos that’s good. Could only imagine what your heating bills were. Happy you both will be warm in winter and cool in summer.

I hope removing all of the damp, musty and mildewy materials from your home will help your headaches as mildew can cause or worsen head pain.

Our house is 100 years old and we bought it as a quick paint and sell, that’s not what happened 😅
Our young children were sitting in the lounge watching TV,one of them who was sitting close to the window came in an said e heard noises coming from the window sill, upon inspection,we found millions of termites in all the timber frame of our house, you could literally hear the termites (white ants) eating the house away! ARRRHHH!
    That was just the beginning!
In the olden days, they didn’t have the right stuff to insulate, waterproof, bug proof or any other stuff to make materials last longer.
You have put up with so many inconsistencies,I really feel for you. You are a tough and patient woman Roos! An wait for you and BF to put up your feet and rest! Hugs to the kitties 🐈‍⬛💚💚💚🐈

oooohhh that's sooo bad! my parents' old farm had termites when they bought it, it had to be sprayed and left alone for several weeks before we could move in. they're the worst! what a job to fix.. i hope your house is better now! and how cool your kid heard them!! that's impressive. thank you so much!
