    Damn that's amazing. I'm working hard as a rock sand 6 in he's tall and 2 feet wide on an unmaintained indoor arena. No access to machines. I'm doing it with a pick ax a d take totally by hand. I'm 12 hours in so far. My goal is to break free all the packed sand and level by by hand. I board my horse and nothing is left.... Barns all sold. I'm doing this work for free where I board to save myself if I fall and save my horse's joints. I cannot imagine access to tractors or what all that costs. My barn doesn't even own a drag. I'm drooling watching this.

    What kind of arena groomer will you use? How will you get close to the walls without banging into that long gate?

      @@timwallick1114 if you want it to drain you need a layered stone base and drain tiles.

    do you think you will ever buy an old harvester and harvest that corn on your own?

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  7 років тому +4

      We have done corn here for many years, but we stopped doing corn three years ago when the market dropped out again on us, this year the corn $1-2 only, heck you can buy a 50lb bag at the local Home Depot cheaper then you can make it so we are really glad to no longer be in the cron business. We currently do speciality crops like organic grass hays, apples, walnuts and sunflowers=)

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  7 років тому

      Fine Natural Pit Mined Sand: Very pure, fine sand with particles between #60 sieve and #200 seive (or 60/200).

      ReefDVMs Thanks. I need to work on the footing for our outdoor ring. Wasn't sure what people are using.

    I personally dislike sand footing as it is not very good overall. I like to mix kinetic sand type stuff with bits of rubber. It really is amazing on your horses feet!

    • @ella4323
      @ella4323 5 років тому

      LVDdressage by kinetic sand do you mean wax bonded sand? Usually arenas with sand that looks and feels kinetic is actually average sand treated with wax to keep it long lasting and stuck together. It also repels water buildup and puddles I think. But yea where I ride the arena is waxed sand mixed with fiber and rubber and it’s amazing! It feels like you could run on it for days!
