I've come to appreciate buffets especially if they're based on a different cuisine! So many dishes to try on my first visit. The freshly fried fish looks amazing!
Loved visiting Nanay Gloria's Filipino Restaurant. We got a chance to try a variety of filipino foods before coming to the Philippines. I can say, they truly make authentic filipino food and will be going back there on our next trip to Vegas.
Thank you so much for reaching out and hope you are enjoying the Philippines… It’s always nice to get a variety of Filipino food so you get a nice coverage😋
So nice when you show these smaller places. So many wonderful foods I've never tried. Always wanted to try tripe. Only recently learned of eating banana blossoms. TSA is going to love you! That'll give them something to talk about.
The tuyo, its a salted fish dipped in vinegar its always a staple in filipino causine you need garlic fried rice when eating it... im a filipino and thank you for loving our food ❤❤❤
ANYONE who has not tried Filipino Food do not be hesitant, it is BEYOND delicious from Chicharon to Soups to the splendid Pork dishes!! 100% Delicious!!!💯
I've been to both Filipino buffet and I'm satisfied with their selections. When I'm with friends or relatives, it's like a tug of war and Nanay Gloria wins most of the time since it's closer and newer. There are some regional dishes that you find on each buffet but I love lechon and Kusina has crispier lechon and that's a winner for me. Enjoy your food. 👍
i have to say filipino cuisine is one of those rare cuisines that is truly an amalgamation of cuisines with very contrasting characteristics. at least modern filipino cuisine with roots from within 100-200 years. you see 3 dominant traits in modern filipino cuisine - spanish, chinese and american - with a stronger emphasis of spanish and southern chinese tastes.
I watch Explore Vegas as well, they seem like such a nice couple. Rose is so much fun in their vlogs & makes me giggle. That was a great looking spot they sent you to!! I love to support local & the food looked so very good. I love Filipino food but I don't eat enough to go to a buffet. Glad to see you can get just a plate to. TFS & making my Sunday brighter.😊❤😊
Yes! Thank you dinuguan! One of my favorites. My brother and sister had a restaurant like this. I was lucky enough to work there. That was my favorite dish beside the lechon. I always have lumpia in my freezer as well. 😊
What a Vegas Feast !! All you can eat soup, fish and meat dishes, noodle and rice dishes, vegetable dishes and dessert for only $17, Heaven on Earth !!
Coca Cola needs to sponsor you, too, Tim. You're just advertising for them for free, but they haven't yet seen the great reviews and contents you've shown on your channel. Great video here as always!
The insides dish is called Papaitan. Anyway, why haven’t I known about this place? I’d rather eat here than the usual buffets on the strip. This is food heaven. They have all the food I’ve missed and even forgotten about. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for the name of the dish! It’s always nice to visit the Chinatown area as you can find some really good deals and it’s a nice breakaway from the strip
Hi Tim! It's brave of you to try that salty fish. It's very salty and it needs to dip in the vinegar to counter-balance the saltiness and it's good to have it with garlic rice. Glad you enjoyed Filipino food!
That lechon kawali was mouthwatering. I’m so jealous. I can’t find a decent Filipino restaurant let alone a Filipino buffet here in Sydney . Some Filipino takeaway were awful taste . 2 small dishes and rice cost Aud$15. Crispy Pata cost $30. So I stop buying Filipino takeaway. I just cook myself. My family loves Chinese food and yumcha so that’s where we go every week Thank you for sharing Tim. I enjoyed watching you eat hahaha.
Let me preface by saying i enjoy your videos. I have watched a bunch of yours within the last few days. You have steady camera hands. You try and seem to genuinely enjoy different types of cuisines. You also eat other food besides just meat and more meats. You don't record and make long videos with 2/3 of the video with just you chewing your food. This is just an observation. You speak like you write a report/essay by keep referring back to people who give you information. Most comments suggest that they enjoy this aspect of your personality. I just thought you sound that way since the first video i watched of you. I have worked in retail so i do appreciate when people are not flipping toward service people in general.
Thank you so much. Really grateful to get to visit and share these experiences. As fun as it is to do the traveling and eating, it's more exciting to meet the people and connect here in this community. Still learning and adjusting, and having a blast figuring this out 😉
I shouldnt be watching this at 2am. Been sick with the flu all week and i havent been able to keep anything in. Now this food video is making want to eat some fish and rice.
Tocino and longanisa are good with garlic fried rice.. Its usually a breakfast thing eaten with a fried egg but a lot of Filipino joints serve it all day.
man I want fried chicken skins now I'm an old guy and I never seen the skin served on it's own like that. Filipino food always reminds me of my great uncle...he never did get me to try balut
Balut is good its the psychological hypocrisy of other people to blame (i understand on the apprehension on the fetus part but its just psychological i couldnt eat that also because there is a bad after taste and weird texture if the fetus is too developed already closest to being hatch already🤮) When it comes to egg i consider balut the gourmet i mean the yolk part its so good since balut has 3 part the fetus, the yellow soft solid yolk and the hard white can be eaten also. Maybe if only the french or Italian not the Asian certainly not smaller states utilize conditioned animal food as certain type of special delicacy food menu like you do know how the duck is unaturally conditioned to have oversized fat liver by force feeding it and the French called it foie grais. If you cant take the visual look of balut there is alternative called penoy the yolk will be similar to balut yolk and the white part is typical of boiled egg.
This was my spot when I lived n Vegas! Hands down the best Filipino Food. I’ve lived in San Francisco and Hawaii and this place is top 2 Filipino restaurants. I make sure I visit everytime I’m in Vegas
Thank you so much Tim for sharing your travel and food adventures ! I can't wait to go Las Vegas to enjoy the food. You don't know how much you have helped me. I really appreciate you. Safe travels and healthy. JoAnn Sigby
Thank you JoAnn. Really appreciate you reaching out and it means a lot. I must say that this community really has helped me a lot as well. It's a nice respite from all the stresses at work and day to day problems. Thank you so much 🙏
Some of these things I would have to pass on, lol . There are some plates I'd have seconds and thirds of though. Maybe I would be brave and try some stuff ..., 😅 Great review as always, Tim 💛
@Tim Lee, Peanuts are from the new world. We in the Ecuadorian Andes used it for many dishes, and one is Guatita. Anyone using our peanut sauce was in the 15/16 hundreds! So, the dish is part of my culture, not Philipino. I will add I love Philipinos and their food. Look up Llapingachos, potato pancakes filled with cheese. Originally, it was filled with meat and has peanut sauce on top. 💜🇪🇨💜🍽
It’s impressive you like the “papanga stew” 😅my family (mostly my grandparents and parents) love it but it’s hard for me to eat! Definitely an acquired taste
Really enjoy Filipino food, but it is new to me. So having a buffet is a nice way to experience a little bit of everything without risk.😉. Good luck on your search.🙏
Tim, Great bang for your buck. Chicken skins excellent looking. Blood Stew wow now I am on the hunt for some. Offal soup tasty looking. Fried pork lachon box ahh. Though I thought the sardine looked good. Would like to find some locally. I really like tapioca. All so good. Best
Another awesome video Tim 😄I could definitely use some of that crispy pata right now 🤤you got me 😭when you took out those chopsticks 🤣I thought I was the only one that travel w/ them 😄
It’s quite handy to travel with some portable chopsticks… Believe it or not, they came into good use much more than I would have ever anticipated. All the best to you and yours, David.
Hi Tim thanks for sharing this video it's nice to see you go off the strip and venue out and find this gem at a very affordable price. Think you will be stopping by the M resort?😅
