My girlfriend asked me the other day "what's up with the Stanley cups? I keep hearing about Stanley cups?" (She lives in London) and I was like I don't know, I don't watch much hockey. She had to explain it to me and I was like over a travel mug?! Wtf?! 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂 this comment is golden lol
Same here - I thought it was about hockey at first, and wondered why none of the cups seemed to have team logos.
😂😂😂 loves this comment!!! My daughter has one, however she didn’t get me one for Christmas 😂😂
I forgot to say I thought the same thing!!! 🙃🙃😂
When my mom learned about the Stanley cup craze she looked so confused and was like "You mean like your dad's thermos he used to take to work?" 😂
I'm 100% in your corner with the Slim/Modern brand, my personal fave!
I'm 50 and just learned last week what a Stanley cup is!! I thought my best friend's granddaughter was talking about a hockey championship! 😂
Edit: I would never spend that much $$ on a cup.
That is ao funny. I am 22 year old male. I first thought it was a hockey reference. Living in Utah I was confused since we dont really care about hockey. Then I thought it was a reference to the show "the office". Super weird loo
@@vinnadoncoppious8930 hahaha!! Oh yesss! Now I'd fork over the cash for a Stanley Hudson cup for sure. 😁😂😍

I am about your age, ya I had no clue about this either, I honestly don't get it. We had similar cups like that for decades, big deal lol.
Our society has gotten so materialistic and it is pretty sad that people will steal or assault one another for a piece of plastic, metal or cloth. ☹
Agree!
I'm not well informed, but I heard a lot of black or Latina men will act this way about brand-name shoes...?
Don’t forget toilet paper
Violence has been rampant since before civilizations developed. Fortunately, it is not necessarily pervasive even if it is persistent. For example, it tends to run in families and also groups that have formed affinities that value criminal lifestyles.
And as far as the racial stuff above, it is true that some young men of some racialized groups have more problems and incidences of violent crimes, but it also true that those young men and the others from different _races_ who commit violent acts tend to predominantly commit them against their own "races". The point being it is more useful to examine the young men and sometimes women who commit violence as a whole.
And also it depends on how you define violence based on affects, if you look at domestic violence an astounding amounts of women are violent just not enough that society locks them up for a whole host of reasons I would rather publish in academic journals about than on a comment thread that can be deleted at any time on FB.
This is nothing new. There has always been something that people get crazy about and collect. .
I’m white and this is a mental disorder. hoarders come in All shapes, sizes and colors. I could care less about stuff! I was NEVER a trend follower! Even as a teen, my friends thought me odd. 🤷♀️
I admittedly have one. I like my drinks cold to the point of brain freeze or making your teeth hurt. I have tried so many other cups and they just don't keep my drinks as cold as I would like for very long. After I watched a video of someone who's car caught on fire and they had their Stanley cup in the cup holder; the cup was intact, no scratches, no melting, NOTHING! Also, the liquid inside still had full blown cubes of ice in it after being in the car all night and having gone through a car fire, I knew then that the quality was good and that I needed to try it. I LOVE my Stanley, it keeps my drinks ICE COLD all day and even overnight. I was soo happy with my purchase that I bought my husband and my daughter one. They are both happy campers. I have to say though, they are pricey so I don't see myself buying anymore in my future (like collecting them in every colour or pattern) and I would NEVER beat someone up or cause violence over a cup. Some people are just very obsessed and apparently have a lot of storage space to fill up with these gigantic cups. Lol. It's too much really. I think if you are like me and you like your drinks cold then one is enough for a life time. 😄😂
This is exactly why I bought my Stanley. I like my water super cold with ice. The Stanley definitely keeps it cold and the ice stays put for a while too. I hate water, but my 2024 goal was too drink more. So that's why I bought it, because it had certain features that I felt would help me consume more water this year. I do not plan on buying another one, unless something happens to this one. I didn't even know the Stanley cup was a Big deal until weeks after I bought it. Lol But I must say that Reduce cup did catch my eye. I like the height and the width. So, I don't know 🤔
You’re gullible af if you thought the Stanley cup *actually* survived a fire, and wasn’t planted for clout 😂 It doesn’t keep drinks colder than any other insulted brand
I think it's okay to collect as many as you can afford. People have weird hobbies all around the world. Like, I would never understand why people would want to collect stamps, or pennies. A hobby is a hobby. Also, good for you. All these complainers either never tried it, or was never the intended target customer. Stanley cup lovers love their drinks ice cold.

I learned about the Stanley cup thing through amayla's show. A mom said she bought her 9 year old one because the one she bought her daughter for Christmas wasn't good enough for her little 9 year old friend. They were bullying her. So her mom caved in and bought her one. I'm a white woman and I absolutely hate these cups because it's a annoying trend and now it's leading to bullying 🙄 I hate these people
Same thing at my son's school! One girl got a knock off and they all started bullying her bc her parents didn't pay 45 freakin dollars for a cup!!
@@ninachkah13 this is the result of an over abundance of consumerism and parents are also enabling this behavior. I see the parents taking to social media and it's helping circulate the message to children and other parents around how materialistic people are being! It's really disappointing to see so many people acting like it's some sort of competition over who has the best of what. We have such conflated narcissism and it's toxic and leaking into young children.
Young people need to see what it's like in other countries and realizing a dang cup doesn't make or break your social status and I'm really disappointed in parents just giving into their children's pressures at school.
Oh my gosh, I watched Amala's video on that this evening!! Lol!!
Tell the kids that being unique is better than being just another imitator. Tell them to pick out something that's different from all the rest. Be yourself because no one else can be YOU ❤
"Good " lesson from mom: bullies control you. Instead of saying: those are asshole teens fixating on superficial, resist them, you mock them. They think a cup's brand is important
I'm a 52 year old white woman and I'm just now hearing that I was supposed to go crazy over Stanley's and also never heard of the LLBean backpack situation.... maybe I am not interested in trends enough to actually care about these things. I love Candace so now I know that I'm not trendy .... and I'm okay with that LOL 😂
As someone who owns both a Yeti and a Stanley (just one of each, I don’t need to collect all the colors 🤣), I have to say that they are both the best stainless steel cups I have owned, by far. Both keep my drinks ice cold far longer than cheaper models. While I do think they’re a bit overpriced, they simply perform better than their cheaper counterparts. The construction and materials, ie type of stainless steel used, seems to make a difference. Plus they are BPA-free and can go in the dishwasher. That’s why I prefer these brands over others that are leaching carcinogens into your water and have to be hand washed, and end up flaking off and turning disgusting after a few months of regular use. Brands like Yeti and Stanley are built to last. The trend may be stupid but other than the cute colorways to choose from, there’s a reason these cups are so popular…they are durable and functional. Join the club, Candace, you know you want to!
Does the Stanly leak like see ppl saying. I want one. But the leaking has me questioning. Wondering if I should just go with yeti instead .
And since the brand has been around for 100 years, it already has that built in trust right there. Like you know, the company is here to stay. And you know that they know what they're doing. These were sold in an era where people actually needed consistency in preserving hot or cold food/ drinks.
When you said” $2,500 worth of Stanley cups”, my first thought was “so like, 5 Stanley cups” lol
People accumulate frivolous things to fill an emotional gap, (OCD much?). Like filling a bucket with a hole in the bottom....
exactly. And they look to celebrities and pop culture to tell them what to hoard. 😂 Sad.
@@StopTheWorldIWantOff65I agree but we don’t have this Stanley craze in Oz and I am curious why Candice thinks it’s a White Girl thing. On that video of them grabbing the new cup they were all black! I’m confused 🫤

I was working at Kmart during the Cabbage Patch Kids craze.
I remember there were many times people were fighting each other to get one of those dolls when they were brought out from the stockroom.
Most of the time the dolls didn't make it to the shelves.
I do not remember how many times we had to call the police to have people removed from the store for fighting.
Think of that.
A criminal record for a damn doll.
My dad still has one unopened in the original packaging.
He won't sell it.
He said he has it just to piss off those stupid people.

Those dolls were so ugly they weren’t even cute. I had a really spoiled cousin who had like 20 of them and even in the box they aren’t really worth that much money. All my Barbie toys from the 80s I’ve been able to find on eBay and none of them have been more than 60 to 70 bucks

My 16 year old granddaughter actually drinks more water, since she has her Stanley Cup. She recently went on vacation and took her cup with her. She drank water the entire time!!!
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit, but I bought a Stanley 7 months ago after a lot of research at the start of my pregnancy because I wanted a cup the kept my water cold throughout the night. I also had serious dizziness in my first trimester to the point I constantly felt like I was about to faint. My Stanley has served me well throughout this pregnancy. Cold water to the rescue!
Nothing wring with having one at all.
Yeti does that too
Actually any insulated cup, mug, bottle or container would work just as well, but at least you didn’t buy it because of the marketing fad
@@teresaalbin-davis4529 yes, this was my main point of research. You can watch videos online comparing the two and other brands and the Stanley out performed all the other brands in terms of leakage, coldness etc. I'm happy I went with the Stanley over the Yeti.

It stemmed from a womans car being caught on fire and somehow her Stanley Cup Thermus was fully in tact, WITH THE ICE STILL IN IT!!! She made a testimonial post about it. It boosted the sales so much that Stanley reached out to her and bought her a new car. This is wild, yet true.

I'm a white lady, 68 years of age, and I have seen lots of fads through the years, but I have never participated in the "need to purchase" craze. My favorite thing is whatever is cheapest and functions well. This means I need whatever the item is and that is the basis for my purchase.
Right? Water is my favorite drink, but don't even like ice cold water. My water bottle is a glass Moomin design bottle. If someone tried to give me a Stanley cup, I would say, no thank you. I have no use for it.
@@WhiteTiger333 I don't like ice cold water either. Funny fact: My maiden sir name is Stanley.
Stanley tumblers are pretty awesome. They’re huge, but fit in the car cup holder. Very sturdy, and the ice takes forever to melt. People spend big bucks on iPhones, beauty products, going out to eat…but shit on people over liking a cup. It’s bizarre.
My $24 cup holds 40oz and ice takes almost 2 days to melt.
People should not be drinking from a cup after a few hours bc of bacteria !!!!

Cups with a narrower base than the top make me nervous.
I’m a white girl who could care less what brand my travel cup is. Didn’t even know it was a thing until last week. And maybe it truly is a white girl thing, but your Target video looked to have an equal number or more of black women frantically grabbing for a cup. So maybe this fad is equally appealing to both races.
My best friend (a 32 year old black woman) was over the MOON when she opened up a lavender Stanley Cup for Christmas this year. As happy as I was for her FINALLY getting the Stanley Cup of her DREAMS, I literally couldn't have rolled my eyes harder if I wanted to. Bless her sweet heart. As someone watching from another country, USA is starting to look like a highschool to me where everyone is desparately trying to fit in. I cant believe that the quification is owning a 50 dollar cup. Its so distopian that people are that obsessed 🙄
I'm watching from inside the USA, and I feel the same way. Alleged adults acting like 13 year olds.
As a white teenage girl, I only wanted a Stanley because it's a water bottle that keeps my water cold (I like my water ice cold), has a handle for carrying it easier, and it has a straw (I've been drinking more water because of it.) I probably would have gotten a cup in the same style because of the features it has, but the trend showed me the cup. I got mine for Christmas and I'm so happy I did for the reasons above.
Exactly, this is also the reason I want to buy one to take with me to work 😊
This is exactly why I want one and I don't care what anyone else has to say. I have an old stanley food flask that I bought when I moved jobs almost 20 years ago, still works perfectly.
.... um.... you do realize that there are hundreds of other brands that have those exact same features but cost half the price, right? Its just a thermos with a straw, these have existed for YEARS.
White woman here. I had NEVER heard of the Stanley cup until the press started reporting on the craziness. My husband told me about it first and my mind went instantly to The Stanley Cup for hockey. I was confused, until he told me it was a cup like a Yeti or Tervis. I don’t understand the craziness and I have NO desire to purchase one. So please do not say it is a “white woman” craze. I’ve seen video of African American women involved in the craziness also. Let’s just say it’s a crazy trend and leave color out of it.
I love your sense of humor and honesty. Stanley thermos started it all. Then I saw the price that people are selling them for. Sure, it's a great brand and great quality, but the price is ridiculous. I'll use my other brands, and they're just fine.

Girl bye. You giving brain dead . Mostly caused by masturbation and sexual immortality
Not the true Stanley Cup!
I'm poor... Took a gallon jug of distilled water and wrote STANLEY on it with permanent marker. Now I'm popular 😎
This is so stupid. I own 3 of these. Bought them because they’re large, stay cold and fit in my car cupholders.
Had no idea they were a thing. Now I hate being seen with them
I'm a white woman and I could care less!!!! Thanks for the laugh Candice!!!!!! 😄Luv you too!!!! 🙂
You could NOT care less. 😊
Oops! LOL!!!! Nope, I could NOT care less!!!! 🙂
I think it was because a car caught fire and the cup survived and then the company and ceo gave the woman a new cup and car. So yea
So I met this lady last night....... And her "excuse" for wanting a Stanley Cup was.... "I wanted it because it floats" what a load of baloney!!!!
Im a white woman from Bermuda and I don't understand. It must be an American thing. Asked my kids if they want one and the responded "why would we want a cup. Buy me something cool". 😂😂
Love your videos! White woman here could care less about these fads. Thanks for keeping us informed 😂
I agree with you and my ex husbands name was Stanley so I will never buy one of those cups lol. Have a great day.
@@susanlosier59 Woman you're a trip 🤣🤣❤. Can't blame you 🤣🤣
@@susanlosier59😂😂😂😂
I thought it had something to do with the NHL Stanley Cup, possibly being bigger and holding more of whatever you are drinking. Honestly with this amount of hype, there better be 2 bottles of wine in there.
ALL 3 of my ‘white girl’ granddaughters got Stanley cups for Christmas. I have a photo with all of them holding up their cups with big smiles showing all their railroad tracks braces on their teeth. BRACES are a middle school white girl thing too. They are blessed kids to come from families that can afford these things. I am 73 and well aware of the poverty in America, but at 13 in 1963…….I wasn’t. It’s called childhood innocence. I lost mine when I went to work as a caseworker in the Baltimore HOOD after college. 😨😨…….Let them be kids. “Life comes ‘round real soon. Makes us women an’ men.” - John Mellancamp.
I'm white & I have zero interest in these cups or any of those cups. The only cup I keep with me is my 24oz Hydro Flask mug for my tea just because I love my tea to stay super hot. That's it. I have one color & get this, I wash it everyday so it's clean for the next day. I'll pass on the Stanleys.
so i work in an upper middle private school and it was my first time hearing about a stanley cup! i went online and found the EXACT cup (without the label) for $3 bucks. i purchased about 15 and gave them away as gifts. i compared it to my friends stanley and it was literally ZERO difference. I LOVED this segment. i like the funny Candace
Share it please
"Same"... like, they could afford to pay their workers a living wage at $3 a cup, especially if the materials were the same high quality materials and not cheap to cut costs?
Love this!
😅 over cups?!?! 🤦🏾♀️ CRAZY!
My oldest daughter was like I almost got into a fight for the gift for you and I was like omg what did I get and it turned out to be a Stanley cups. I was so confused I don't own one andnever wanted one. Not gonna lie I laughed my ass off after she left like wtf do I do with a stupid cup.
“She has to have them all; like Pokémon”😂😂😂😂- A white chic who doesn’t own a Stanley Cup but I’ve had the same Stanley thermos for 20 years, and I do love it :-)
I have one of these but I had no idea they are a "thing". My daughter gave it to me because I needed a travel mug that fit into the console of my vehicle. It does keep my water cold.😊
I feel so validated in my Reduce Tumbler ownership. Thank you, Candace!! 😂
Yep! I had mine for 6 years and it's cool.
It works well, but now the cap leaks.😢
Not paying $45 for a cup though
Now if she would just telling the truth about black people the same way as she did about the cups
Im hispanic and its a no for me lmao. I have a Reduce cup that my father in law bought after a hospitalization and i love it. Keeps my drinks cold for 12 hours. I would NEVER spend 50.00 on a damn cup. Insane
I own the original Stanley thermos which is used for coffee when we take road-trips, and I’m good with that.
Hahaha! You’re cracking me up hard! I’m a 43 year old white girl who doesn’t seem to always do what’s on trend. About 8 years ago I ended up in a wheelchair living at this board and care home for my Peripheral Neuropathy. My first Christmas here my folks gave me a Yeti cup. They knew I’d been having trouble finding the right cup to fit in my wheelchair’s cup holder. Plus, they had my daughter on the Yeti bandwagon. She stays with them mostly. Then 6 months ago I was finally complaining about my Yeti cup. I needed a new straw. My mom ran right out and got me a Stanley. I’ve been using it, but, I don’t think it’s super stellar. My family does. I DO love how cold it keeps my iced tea. So, this video did literally make me laugh out loud! 🫶🏻
Blessings to you ,your daughter and parents
@@cathyisgrigg1813 Thank you! Blessings to you as well 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻
As a fellow 43 year old white woman myself, I'm with you - and I stand in alliance with being a die hard YETI girl for life! 🤩
@@KelleyBroussardMackaig Hahaha! All the way! 😂
I hate trends too
As a white girl, I’ve never shopped at a Target. I have no clue what is going on. Honestly I thought it was a black person thing because my black coworker was the one who first mentioned it to me.
lol I’m black and I fell for this crap. I made my husband gift it to me and honestly it’s not worth it . Yes it’s cute . I have the cream one and it’s aesthetically pleasing to have but that’s it. Yes it keeps the water super cold for a while but it spills badly . Not worth the money at all. There are better ones out there.
I am East European, I have seen this craze online and I don't get it. It is just a cup. What is wrong with people... It is just a container that contains liquid.
My favorite coffee cup for the car came from a gas station, it was 99 cents.
Starbucks did make a Stanley cup! It was their exclusive valentines Stanley at target that these women stood outside for 12+ hours for 😂
Im a white girl and I fell for the trend…. I have two BUT I was just minding my own business on a plane back to my city and my Stanley WHICH I BOUGHT LEAK PROTECTION FOR decided to spill everywhere! Im super disappointed and definitely think it’s a huge waste of money. Also the warranty company is hard to work!!
I am a hispanic woman. I have one! And yes, I do consume more water because I think it is cute and like it. It is sort of like getting a new gym outfit, to have that extra motivation to do that workout. And I feel no shame at all. Love your content Candace!
🐑
If that woman didn't steal those cups how can they take her property like that I mean it's not dammed stolen gold bars I mean WTH.
It's baffling to see how EASILY people conform to what they believe society wants them to think or be. Like damn, how can one justify spending all that money on a cup!? Why? Because tik tok or Instagram told them to? Because it's a new fad? Why does one want to be like everyone else? It'll be more mind blowing seeing people NOT doing what everyone else does lol
it's a zippy cup. for adults. and somehow they are falling for it.
What's worse is the 10-year olds at Sephora💯🤡
Girl this is nothing new. I remember back in the 80's people were going crazy for Cabbage Patch Kid dolls!
Wisdom, right here. That's wise words.
I am a middle aged white woman who drinks from a Tervis, can't stomach Taylor Swift, and thought that the Stanley cup craze had something to do with hockey, lol!!! And I've never bought a beanie baby or UGGs! 😂
I am not white, but I had one of those cups. However, I dropped the cup on my big toe . The cup broke my toe and now I no longer want a big heavy cup🤪
