It would be nice if there was a graphic (or even just description under the video) that showed dimensions, measurements, materials needed, and equipment. Approximate cost would be cool, too.
I would not glue the boards that run perpendicular across the grain as wood needs to be able to move to prevent warpage or cracking of the door. A door can take on moisture from the air causing the wood to expand and contract 1/4 in per foot. Also do not glue the tongue and groove joint for the same reason. Making the screw holes slightly large will also help, Tears of Experience
I just subscribed to your channel, beautiful work! it's been very helpful to see how you make your creations. The only thing I would do different is use a matte or satin sealer finish. I think it's too glossy for a rustic peice. Although I'm sure there are those who would disagree with me. Great work!
Nice job! I kind of cringed when u out down masking tape before using the router, but then noticed you switched to painters tape. Wondering if you had issues when pulling off regular masking tape or was the stain able to resist the glue adhesive. No diss, just curious. Again, door came out great
Great Job! I enjoyed watching the video. I am trying to build something similar but I don't know the sizes of the wood. In the video, you mentioned 1in x 6in and 1in x 4in, but where on the barn door are you using those woods?
👍Nice work! Is there anyway you could give a little more info/details?! For example maybe give a estimated price of the wood ,hardware ,which grit of sandpaper you were using on the hand held sander etc. I've read a couple comments asking ,so I know it would definitely be appreciated! Anyways Thanks for the video. It looks great!👍
First MASHAALLAH Second Your work is so good that I don't have words, you make so many fantastic things out of wood 🪵 incredible that I can't say. MASHAALLAH
I was wondering the same, 🤦🏽♀️ I don’t think they showed that part, only the 1/4” slots they cut with a router but, that’s it. I didn’t hear anything more about it... 🤷🏽♀️
@@opiana86 it so the doors wouldn’t sway back and forth when not in use. Naturally doors move when the furnace kicks on and off. So no track on the floor
Either the clock and candles are super thin and flat, or that is a staged picture just for looks. I doubt there is room to fit those two items between the wall and the barn doors.
Is there anyway to install door knobs with lock ? I ask because my wifes work had bathroom door ways widened an they are a care home so there must be a locking door knob, my problem is its been made so wide for wheel chairs no door will fit an be able to open properly.
A list of what is need would be helpful and because you don’t have it and did not include it in your video I cannot find it helpful sorry it is beautiful.
Angela Pannozo it looks like they used 1x6 pine tongue and groove boards (probably 8 foot) for the main part of the door, 1x4 (again, probably 8 feet), for the top trim and cross sections, 1 1/4 inch nails and nail gun, wood glue, sander and sand paper (probably 220 or higher grit), long clamps to hold the wood together as it is glued, and a router with a slot cutting bit. Of course you’ll need the mounting hardware as well.
How do you keep them from rolling past center? I just installed some myself (not as nice as yours!) and they roll past the railing coupler (I used two 8 foot long rails and the provided coupler).
I’m doing a double door project now and I’m trying to figure this out as well. If I put the two spare stoppers in the middle, they take up too much space and the doors won’t close together. The distance between the two straps when the doors are closed is only about 2.5 inches. I’m thinking maybe if I leave the last 1/2 inch or so (of the mortise slot) unrouted, and it will catch the guide and stop. We’ll see.
MC Rose Caba if you make the door very close to the floor you could hide two wheels in the door rather than the slot for the guide to ride in. Door will be a little bit thicker but it’s doable. Then install the top so it looks like it’s hanging but the two black wheel will actually support the weight. You will have to make the door, can’t get that in a kit.
Ok boys, that’s how you win a mother’s heart
Putting a material list and measurements in the description would be helpful.
I am guessing the doors don't slide over the clock and candle holders? Lol Its like a rustic painting!
i love that color so much, this is amazing great job!
Justin you gotta show the doors sliding open and closing at the end.
Else awesome job and keep up the great work.
Fine !!! You 've got an 'A' 👍 Congratulations 🎉
Definitely making this for my open space home office

Very beautiful, you can be proud on what you made here!

Very cool and good instructions. I’m thinking of tackling this one soon. Should be a fun project. Thanks! New subscriber too.

Beautiful doors!
Hi Justin! Could you share with us the approx amount of $$ spent on the hardware and woods? (excl: tools, stain, etc)
You make it look so easy! Love the video.
How far does the door hang from the wall? Evidently, enough to allow the door to pass over the clock and wall hanging. Nice job, BTW.
What size nails did u use
Hy, very beautiful job.

Did you just superglue the track piece on the bottom to the tile?

Love this!!! How do you install the bottom track?

The angled boards are for bracing.
How thick in depth (mm) did they finish at mate. They look great!
I love the color! Can you please provide the brand and color of the stain?
The slots that were cut out. What was the purpose of doing that? I didn’t notice a track on the floor? Thx for sharing
These doors are purely cosmetic non functioning the slot is to hold them still so they don’t swing back and forth.
@@JustinStanley it’s exactly what I want to do for where we had French doors that leads into a bonus room. This video was very helpful
There’s a guide on the floor. They didn’t show it.
Quality work. Great job 👍
Batmatt Thank you!
Was there enough room to keep the clock and candles on the wall as in 9:49 ?
I had the same question... But I guess I don't see a reply.
Either the clock and candles are super thin and flat, or that is a staged picture just for looks. I doubt there is room to fit those two items between the wall and the barn doors.
You mentioned you bought a 10ft rail so what are the measurements of the doors?
TWO 30 INCH DOORS WILL NEED A 10 FOOT RAIL
Nice build what type of stain did u use can u give me the name of it thx
Jacobean
No floor guides?
Do they open with the wall decorations?

When you close the doors together, how do you stop them both rolling to the left or right? Is there some sort of stopper in the middle?
STOPS IN THE MIDDLE ARE ADJUSTED FOR REVEAL STOPS ARE ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT ENDS OF RAIL SO DOORS WILL NOT COME OFF RAIL. SO STOPS IN MIDDLE YES
WHAT COLOR STAIN DID YOU USE
nice one how thick is your header i got some heavy barn door to install and need a header thx
That's what I was wanted to know.

Usually the hardware kit comes with stops for the center, so the doors stop where you would like them to

How much would you sell your barn doors?
What about the bottom?
They routed a mortise slot
My wall has no studs. What can I do? I want to install the barn door but how?

Absolutely wonderful!!

how did you put stopper in the middle so they don't collide the two rollers?
Does two doors get two likes?
