As as Canadian, it's great to see the game growing internationally. Austria has some serious talent for a nation so new to the game. Look forward to see how they are playing in 10 years.
As an American I was rooting for our northern brothers otherwise I wanted non-North American team to win seeing such big progress in sport of different nations
Yes, I was really surprised, I thought Canada would manhandle them, but boy are these guys tough and know how to play. Really impressive, learn something new every day.
@@jdagreat4595The Canadian fields are bigger. Is there’s extra space that’s not on the playing field, that’s not better. That means there’s less room to play on, making it harder to complete plays down the field so you can keep getting first downs and moving your way down the field into high probability touchdown territory.
Nice job both teams, however I have a hard time not believing that the best available North anerican players would be in/or committed to University programs and not in this tournament.
When your team desperately needs a TD, your QB drops a dime right in your hands in stride, nobody is in front of you, you have a wide open path to the endzone, and you just run out of bounds at the 4-yard line....
Was watching the highlights to the upset against the US. Japan looks really good. Really good run game. They utilize the screen and play options very well. Canada definitely has their work cut out. Unfortunately I notice international teams don't pace themselves and gas out in the 3rd and 4th. Japan is gonna need to play a full game or do what they did to the US😊
Canadian team doesn't look very well organized. The edge is wide open for the strong runs Japan has been show casing. The DB's as a whole look very weak. I will be shocked if Canada can even make this close.... Congrats on the win. ( I wanted to be 1st)
@@hopper1415 yeah watching over their games there’s a lot of opportunities for Japan to dominate, but I still say it’ll be a close game if they wake up instead of waiting for second half
@@hopper1415 To me, Canada do have the edge on QB though. I don't think the Japanese QB is that good and he makes mistakes that Canada can capitalise on. Though, the Japanese defense is pretty good at forcing errors.
Actually, the Canadian game only has 3 downs instead of 4 so it might actually be advantageous for Team Canada to play by the USA rules. It might slow the game down so they can focus on things more closely.
@FreedomDefender07 except the field is smaller and 11 players on each side of the ball instead. Smaller end zone, with the upright at the back instead of the front. Different ball lol there are a lot of differences, and adjusting to them all is not easy or advantageous. In my opinion. I agree with the 4 downs is better than 3 though. But with that comes different game plans.
@@travdaddy777 Good to mention some other key differences that make a clear comparison between the two difficult. Another one that comes immediately to mind is how the receivers can get a couple of steps into their run before the snap in the Canadian game. Anyways, the biggest point of contention I had was with the original poster posing it like the Canadian national team was at an obvious disadvantage of playing by the American rules which struck me as a baseless statement. I think the only way you could answer this question somewhat definitely is by asking players who have played in both the CFL and NFL like Nathan Rourke for example.

Canada QB throwing dime!!!!
It's so weird seeing an American field in a CFL stadium, so much extra space everywhere
That’s actually good thing

In Edmonton, Canada, at Commonwealth Stadium and Clarke Stadium
