  • General Signals Model EB-3-360-5 Electronic Highway Crossing Bell. Some signal fans refer to this bell as the Type II, General Signals has the newer models factory set to a lower tone and has improved the design eliminating the screws on the top PVC cap which caused moisture to seep in and destroy the circuit boards causing bell failure. This is a well made and good sounding E bell.

When I go off to college, I'd like to have a General Signals electronic crossing bell in my dorm room so I can drive my roommate crazy when he drives me crazy. haha

@MikeRXR That's nice. RRXINGRICK owns one and did tell me that on one occasion. You should do a video of the bell ringing while you run it through all its spectrum of sounds

Isn't there in the circuit board a small potenciometer that is used to regulate the bell's tone? I was told that the "type 1" and "type 2" bells are exactly the same, only regulated differently...

Super late response, but I'm doing this since nobody else has: The tone adjuster was a Type 1 exclusive. It is also worth noting that the Type 1 and Type 2 use a completely different sound, as adjusting a Type 1 to the same tone as a Type 2 still does not sound like a Type 2. People will call that an "adjusted GS Type 1". And since it's only a Type 1 exclusive, the only thing you can adjust on a Type 2 is the volume.
