Its fully custom made, part of a college program called Baja SAE. Most parts are designed and fabricated by us at school. I am on Cornell's baja team, we have three competitions around the country each year and build a new car every year as well. The competitions generally have around 75-120 other colleges at them.

Everyone is required to run the same engine with a restrictor plate, and have 4wd. Most of the rest of the car is up to us besides some specific rules for the roll cage, seat, and harness to keep us safe. It is an absolute blast and I have made so many friends from colleges all over through these competitions. It is also one of the best ways to get real world experience with engineering in college (I am a mechanical engineer but there are many other majors working on things as well).

@@silasbutdeadly. I'm jealous of your skill and cool school. Maybe I should look into a course like that

@@silasbutdeadly. Maybe u could consider doing a recording of what it takes for you and the team to build a new one when it comes out, with some plans and such. I would like to build one and know what it takes and what's needed

@@thebunskins2385 That’s a good idea! We do have some behind the scenes on our youtube channel (Cornell Baja Racing) and there are many other baja teams that have similar videos (CWRU Baja, Baja ETS, RIT Baja, and Michigan Baja all have some good ones as well). None of these go super in depth into design specifics, as a lot of that changes year to year with rules and is generally something teams don’t share too much, but i’d love to make a behind the scenes about what goes into making one and some of the challenges we face.
