Subaru is a terrible platform for the average JDM enthusiast. I wish I would have gone with the S2000 I test drove back in 2008. Live and learn..
@@neuspeed79 I agree. Unfortunately i fall under the average JOE. After all said and done I'm probably a little over 40k on a 14 premium wrx. Either keep it stock and get a good tune or you better have some play money for a serious build and do it right.

For most people sweet point for power and drivability and budget is 400whp obviously bigger turbo but stock position
Keeps the budget down instead of going rotated set up that cost more gives you more power like 500whp

I have a 21 sti I added cobb tune and for the street its enough if you wanna pull 400 to 500 or more your gonna have to pay to play if you are gonna tweak an engine then you run risks ..

@@natesmith9007 ej is not superior lol. The only reason that would make it better than an FA is that the FA20 has paper mache con rods. People have literally built 600whp ascents with a stock FA24 block and its a hundred times more efficient and reliable than an EJ25.

1:45 This is the reason I don't let getting beat drive me into spending God money on my vehicles. There is always someone faster. My WRX is also my winter vehicle, so I want to keep it as reliable as possible. So my goal right now is 400 bhp....maybe 500 bhp.

Setup block friendly. I’m looking to build a 1000hp car my self but don’t wanna really have block problem wanted to do a 1.8t cheap and easy to find or keep with my vr6 turbo . Running in a Audi B5
If you’re already using words like “cheap and easy”, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. HP costs money brother; there is no way around it.

my friend wants a sti but is scared because he hears gasket problems and other problems might arise, is a stock 2019 sti reliable for a daily?
Many of the headgasket issues are blown out of proportion and actually only affect the NA boxer motors. If left stock or modified well, a 2019 STI is an amazing daily!
The 2019 STI comes with revised pistons from factory. There’s one in Chicago making close to 650 on stock motor and it’s still running around banging gears. Do t listen to the nay sayers. Do your research and call Kozmic Motorsports.

I don’t understand why ppl bash Subaru, like you ppl do know that they have one of the highest safety rating of any Brand! Also when it comes to mods any car can have problems Subaru is no exception to any other modded cars!!!
All that is true, though I would argue they are proner to problems after tuning compared to other brands due to the boxer layout.

@@venom_dave we’re referring to Several internal Modifications to jump massive power levels, not stock power levels in Muscle cars, ya they start out like that, but put a modded 1000hp coyote against a Flat 6 Twin Turbo with 1000hp weighing almost a 1000lbs less and see what happens, just because they start out with more power doesn’t mean there better cars. That just gives u extra bang for ur Stock Dollar $$ setup!!

I was putting down 500hp with the only exterior mod being an STi hood scoop (even stock 04 WRX rims). It was always fun seeing the look on peoples faces as I pulled away on them.
Exactly my entire 19 sti limited is stock exterior but under the bonnet, full fuel system, starting from tank, and ETS rotated/fmic all support minus the stock longblock living its best life at 550whp/481wtq mustang dyno, I’m going with a built destroked ej25 because I will road race car at willow springs
so only engine mods? no suspension or BBK? or are STI calipers sufficient?
6 piston calipers are good enough .
@@1VIPWRX I'm assuming you meant caliper. But the black pre 2018 brakes are 4 pistons. If he doesn't track the car seriously, then I guess they're good enough.
