Great to see you again, a PID will definitely be a big ease of use. Water capacity is an important factor for me, so I would not want to sacrifice any volume although a handle sounds very tempting. I'm waiting eagerly for more finalized versions of there mods, Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for the update, Funny enough I stumbled onto this after looking (again) at the Flair 58 but not yet justifying the upgrade from my neo. Some things I do for my work flow that might help. I have a normal cheap kettle and I will just put my brew chamber inside that, then I turn it on while connected to a wifi plug. I can simply turn that on or have it come on auto before I wake up to pre heat my chamber. I keep the Flar neo against a wall so when I push down the unit wont slide back and is more stable that way. Though lacking the rubber feet when pushing at the front from design. I push 1-2 bar for about 10 seconds or until the first drop hits the cup, then I push 9bar. I generally just rest my head on my hand while I push down, less effort while adding pressure haha. I would love to do a simple mod like you have but just a sleeve that can be taken off and on to hold the temp while still allowing me to keep using the kettle.
For the most part, the Flair Pro2 produces the thickest shots and a more traditional espresso. For lighter roasts, I tend to have better luck with the 9Barista. I also have a Flair 58. The main difference between the three are the size and depth of the puck. F58 is short and wide, Pro2 is tall and narrow. 9B is somewhere in between. The F58 is more versatile than the other two. The 9B is most consistent (in my experience). Pro2 is somewhere in between.

What is the taste difference between Flair and 9barista ?
