It makes no sense that Quick play has the same mechanic as the rooms. I had so many quick plays that was waiting for 10 minutes for the "host" to come back and click on ready.

If I’m correct you can’t even vanish the ult while you’re getting hit with ki blasts. There’s no counter play to that.
if they want balance. 1. have a normal and delay vanishing attack, to mess up timing and add strategy to it. 2. make perception have recovery. so if you press it and no attack comes you can be punished. 3. make super counters instantly stop vanishing wars but cost 2 ki bar, or 1 blue bar. 4. delay healing tag out, so that you dont heal for the first 10 seconds after you tag out. 5. make it so you cant build blue bar when an auto defense tool is active. Like after image strike. 6. remove hit stun from charge ki blast or make the stun have diminishing returns so it doesnt infinite like it does now. then they can actually do character tweeks, which wouldnt be so bad if they made these system changes.

Its not just arena fighter players. Any game that has ranked, these people exist. COD ranked is everyone using the exact same gun, tekken and street fighter are the exact same fighters at the top. Gamers in general, if there is a ranked mode, people will optimize the fun out of it.

@sky-oq5mr tekken timer is normally 60 seconds, and games still tend to end beforever the time is up. And even if there are 15 time outs in a row (which is extremely rare), that's only 15 minutes. In sparking zero each game is 5 minutes. In a best 2 out if 3, a back and forth game would be 15 minutes minimum, not counting if they hit supers. Don't try to act like time out In dp battles is the norm in fighting games. CONSISTENT time outs are extremely rare, and 99% of games that have time out problems will nerf turtling strategies before the next major game tournament. The only other fighting game where time outs was an issue was dragon ball fighterz in the first few seasons of you played defense perfectly, but the game is an absolute dps game now, where any character can 2 touch consistently.
@HunterLee-r8f that would not only make the time out problem worse because: characters like yajirobe can heal back to full or heal in general, after image strike would be available after a few seconds of playing the game and doing one vanish battle and increasing the time to 6 minutes wouldn't fix this, just give you more time to gain more skill points and rinse and repeat your strategy, especially the cheese ones. The best way to decrease time in games are to increase available dps such as decreasing combo scaling and durn near one shot everyone, or decrease defensive abilities/passives such as healing when on the bench, making switching slow across the board, and/or nerfing defensive that promote people into not playing the game.

I played an android 18 that spammed ki blast the whole game, didn’t manage his meter, don’t know how to vanish anything and didn’t even use revenge counter. Bro i encountered straight ssj4 gogeta, super vegeto, and beerus in single play. I was literally just tryna have fun and play different characters. Then i said fuck it and played base vegeto and went on a 20 win streak while only using super vegeto when someone tries to cheese with afterimage strike. This cheese shit is cooked 💀
Sparking zero was financially already a massive success. I don´t think the devs care all to much about this game anymore , who cares if the game dies in 2-3 months because its a broken mess? they already made the $$$$.
Super Counter is a terrible mechanic and the main reason why the game is so unbalanced. Here is why: 1. It can be used to stop literally anything - even throws - except for Ki blasts and supers. 2. It's a bit too easy to execute, and can be mashed out. 3. It costs no resources whatsoever. Therefore there's no downside to using it. 4. It renders ALL other defensive tools useless for the most part. Why use Revenge Counter? 5. It's the #1 cause for triggering Z-Counter wars. 6. It kills any sort of player expression in terms of combos. You're instead encouraged to use short, optimal combos. What's the point of longer combos? Why are they in the game? 7. Because Super Counters are free to use, Skill Points are not used for anything. Which is why instant-Spark, Afterimage Strike, Max Ki gauge, and regenerative skills are running rampant and are breaking the balance of the game. 8. It's the #1 culprit for stall strategies and timeouts. You guys have no idea how much smoother the combat is if you remove Super Counters entirely, and instead they replace it with Revenge Counter so that it works even if your back is turned. Or you can rely on character specific skills such Wild Sense, Explosive wave etc. That way you actually have a decision to make on how to spend your Skill points, instead of #7 above.
Stop complaining super counters aren’t that easy to do it takes time to learn how to do it mashing doesn’t always work you have to time it soon as you get hit you can super counters. It’s the strongest counter bc the timing is so precise on it
I laugh when people even use the word "balance" when speaking on this game. There isn't suppose to be any balance, this is not StreetFighter or Tekken. This game is meant to be a sh*t show and overall fun to play to relive the anime. Also mashing super counter is not viable, that may work for speed characters, it still requires timing.
Characters heal a single bar roughly between 45-55 seconds. The reason I say between is because certain characters regain the health bar quicker by a few seconds or slower by a few seconds, but they still gain a bar back per 45-55 seconds
back then there was no luxary to easly update the game like today, thats why today you have garbage unfinished games that either get fixed eventually like cyberpunk or they stay like that and still charge 60 euros. back then you had only one shot to make a good game and you pulled it off.

The only problem that i see in Sparking Zero its how fast you gain resorces for that, but things like armor skills are completely fine (the androids strategies of using armor to get grabs exist since BT3)

i stopped playing dp ranked because after B rank all my matches were coming to time out from 5 characters with low dp and afterimage strikes. singles have been treating me way better.

19:39 Argin I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet but for the grab clash mini game you can't just mash. You have to hold the button (square) and get the meter as close to the bar as you can without touching it. If you get closer than you opponent then you win. I didn't understand it either until I watched a video so I hope this helps.
Honestly, I played my 100 matches for the trophy, all with the GOAT Future Gohan, managed to somehow win most of them and then just dipped The way people play is just plain cancer. While throwing hands with an equally skilled opponent is satisfying as all hell, having to go through 5 Wheelos, 10 Gogetas, 15 MUI Gokus, 7 Brolys and 10 more Gogetas just for a chance of finding such a individual isn't what I'd call fun Honorable mention: Afterimage and friends squad Either way, like Doto mentioned before me, there's a hige difference between unbalanced and unfun. With Sparking Zero sadly being the latter of the two
I think the character balancing is less important than mechanic balancing. Make super counters, vanishes, etc way harder to time, make super armor a 2 hit max instead of 4, etc. Maybe cap how much health is regained from switching out.
Argin, to do well in the grab clash you can't let the meter hit the top or else it will go down on it's own and there is nothing you can do. Because of this, the best way to do it is to hold the button until you get about half way or a little more up and then mash the button so it slows you down enough that you wont hit the top, but will be near it.
I think the old games didnt need patches because the devs spent more time polishing the games because once it went out, there was no taking the product back. Nowadays every game has a day 1 patch which usually addresses many issues that should have been worked out and on the physical disc out the box (this game had a really slow and buggy training mode before the patch) Games are now being released knowingly unfinished and unbalanced and then many patches later you finally get the final game. You also now get half the game up front and have to pay for 'dlc' which is actually the rest of the game most of the time
For the clash, the meter goes up when the button is pressed. And it goes down when the button is released. The thing that is confusing is that if you are holding the button, and it maxes out the meter, the meter will start to go down again (even if the button is still held). So you have to release the button again before you can start to fill the meter like before. That’s why people say to hold until you hit max, then ‘mash’ to keep the meter near the top.
Hi Argin, the thing with that mini game well, at least what I do, is delay a little the Square button, because once that shait reach the limit it will go down, so making that little delay actually helps to keep that bar as high as possible, hopefully it will help you with that minigame
I think they needa balance dp battle so it goes off how much damage you do instead of who has more characters cause you can be beating on someone the whole game an not lose a character but lose the battle because the enemy just kept swapping an started with more characters
For the vanishes, they should make them cancellable into other inputs in my opinion rather than being locked into doing it Edit: Or they can make the vanishes avoidable by a sidestep

in the minigame you need to delay for a second before pressing square and then hold until you reach the barrier. you can boost once while holding square that works the best for me

Honestly, I got lucky that I never got such cheese online (pretty sure people think I am cheesy for using the God Ki capsule), but seeing this ... holy damn. A clear difference between unbalanced as intended and unbalanced as it is. Probably the best route is nerfing the cheese instead of single chars. If that wording makes sense also for Piccolo's sake, please when you vanish in sparking let it cost ki too. Or at one point just let them do a melee clash. Edit: think the earthling / OG Dragon ball player didn't even went for Afterimage Strike in the first match
One thing I noticed is that the higher the rank, the higher the chances of finding these freaking cheesers, which makes the game no fun at all at a certain point... I was enjoying it way more when I was at the early ranks than now, and I'm still at B...
The game feels unresponsive probably is due to the other person's net. Sometimes i can dodge supers and ultras in a game but other times i cant even dash in to do a combo and its frustrating.

Yeah, there needs to be fixes. I do love the game, and there's a lot to enjoy in it, but man, the jerkass community really ruin it as usual in arena fighters. Gotta remove some stuff cuz even BT3 didn't have half the bs this game put in foe no reason, like the giants having that unblockable charge, ki spamming in sparking mode, and worst of all, that instant regenerating blast stock! That alone is why most of these broken skills feel horrible to fight, because they made it waaaaay too easy to get blast stocks. Not only that, they made stuff way faster than it needed to be, especially those unblockables, made certain moves like Dragon Fist on GT Goku just Not work on giants like it used to, super counters being used MID getting hit instead of on reaction to the first hit per combo. Etc! There's tons that work in this game but there's stuff that needs to be readjusted cuz it's way too wild

They should really change the win condition of "Most Health" to "Most Damage" Using 5 characters should not just make you automatically win over 2 and 3 character teams, as that basically forces you to pick characters with high health and low cost if you want to win.
For throwing out your ultimate's you need to wait like half a second after you hold down your right trigger. I haven't had any problems when throwing supers while doing that. Since arena fighters can't have rollback because there are too many inputs a player can make, you need to queue your inputs a little.
18:40 ArGin, I'm saying this as someone who only got to play the game once on a friend's house, but perhaps the strat for this minigame is to actually hold the button until the gauge fills PAST the yellow line and then release the button to let the gauge deplete back to where the yellow line is. I suppose it's a matter of timing when to release the button
You can beat Wheelo easily if you go as high as you can. I noticed his dash doesn't work when you're at the very top of the map. Today I beat a Wheelo 3 times in a row doing that.
Nah, instant spark isn’t the issue, the problem is that ultimates have no mechanical difference from supers. In layman’s terms, you can use an ultimate just as freely and easily as any other attack, despite the fact that ultimates are far and away better than all other attacks. It eliminates the need to actually think about when and how to use them vs. using other moves. Adding a universal character debuff system for ultimates would completely eliminate that issue.
@ that would only really apply to unblock-able Ults though and a system like that would make the block-able ults so bad they aren’t worth using over a normal super attack

In sparking zero each game is 5 minutes. In a best 2 out if 3, a back and forth game would be 15 minutes minimum, not counting if they hit supers.
Don't try to act like time out In dp battles is the norm in fighting games. CONSISTENT time outs are extremely rare, and 99% of games that have time out problems will nerf turtling strategies before the next major game tournament.
The only other fighting game where time outs was an issue was dragon ball fighterz in the first few seasons of you played defense perfectly, but the game is an absolute dps game now, where any character can 2 touch consistently.
@HunterLee-r8f that would not only make the time out problem worse because: characters like yajirobe can heal back to full or heal in general, after image strike would be available after a few seconds of playing the game and doing one vanish battle and increasing the time to 6 minutes wouldn't fix this, just give you more time to gain more skill points and rinse and repeat your strategy, especially the cheese ones.
The best way to decrease time in games are to increase available dps such as decreasing combo scaling and durn near one shot everyone, or decrease defensive abilities/passives such as healing when on the bench, making switching slow across the board, and/or nerfing defensive that promote people into not playing the game.

And its players that do this sort of thing that always kill a game. There's a reason why people didn't keep playing the Storm games. I played an android 18 that spammed ki blast the whole game, didn’t manage his meter, don’t know how to vanish anything and didn’t even use revenge counter. I asked him if he’s having fun playing like that, he said he doesn’t know who to use and didn’t practice. I find that crazy, not practicing for a fighting game is a recipe to lose lol
Bro i encountered straight ssj4 gogeta, super vegeto, and beerus in single play. I was literally just tryna have fun and play different characters. Then i said fuck it and played base vegeto and went on a 20 win streak while only using super vegeto when someone tries to cheese with afterimage strike. This cheese shit is cooked 💀

For a grab clash, stop pressing it the moment the clash appears. Wait exactly 1 second then press and it will fill to the bar every single time.
Super Counter is a terrible mechanic and the main reason why the game is so unbalanced. Here is why:
1. It can be used to stop literally anything - even throws - except for Ki blasts and supers.
2. It's a bit too easy to execute, and can be mashed out.
3. It costs no resources whatsoever. Therefore there's no downside to using it.
4. It renders ALL other defensive tools useless for the most part. Why use Revenge Counter?
5. It's the #1 cause for triggering Z-Counter wars.
6. It kills any sort of player expression in terms of combos. You're instead encouraged to use short, optimal combos. What's the point of longer combos? Why are they in the game?
7. Because Super Counters are free to use, Skill Points are not used for anything. Which is why instant-Spark, Afterimage Strike, Max Ki gauge, and regenerative skills are running rampant and are breaking the balance of the game.
8. It's the #1 culprit for stall strategies and timeouts.
You guys have no idea how much smoother the combat is if you remove Super Counters entirely, and instead they replace it with Revenge Counter so that it works even if your back is turned. Or you can rely on character specific skills such Wild Sense, Explosive wave etc. That way you actually have a decision to make on how to spend your Skill points, instead of #7 above.

I laugh when people even use the word "balance" when speaking on this game. There isn't suppose to be any balance, this is not StreetFighter or Tekken. This game is meant to be a sh*t show and overall fun to play to relive the anime. Also mashing super counter is not viable, that may work for speed characters, it still requires timing.

Characters heal a single bar roughly between 45-55 seconds. The reason I say between is because certain characters regain the health bar quicker by a few seconds or slower by a few seconds, but they still gain a bar back per 45-55 seconds
back then there was no luxary to easly update the game like today, thats why today you have garbage unfinished games that either get fixed eventually like cyberpunk or they stay like that and still charge 60 euros. back then you had only one shot to make a good game and you pulled it off.

The only problem that i see in Sparking Zero its how fast you gain resorces for that, but things like armor skills are completely fine (the androids strategies of using armor to get grabs exist since BT3)

19:39 Argin I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet but for the grab clash mini game you can't just mash. You have to hold the button (square) and get the meter as close to the bar as you can without touching it. If you get closer than you opponent then you win. I didn't understand it either until I watched a video so I hope this helps.

I think the character balancing is less important than mechanic balancing. Make super counters, vanishes, etc way harder to time, make super armor a 2 hit max instead of 4, etc. Maybe cap how much health is regained from switching out.
Argin, to do well in the grab clash you can't let the meter hit the top or else it will go down on it's own and there is nothing you can do. Because of this, the best way to do it is to hold the button until you get about half way or a little more up and then mash the button so it slows you down enough that you wont hit the top, but will be near it.
I think the old games didnt need patches because the devs spent more time polishing the games because once it went out, there was no taking the product back.
Nowadays every game has a day 1 patch which usually addresses many issues that should have been worked out and on the physical disc out the box (this game had a really slow and buggy training mode before the patch)
Games are now being released knowingly unfinished and unbalanced and then many patches later you finally get the final game. You also now get half the game up front and have to pay for 'dlc' which is actually the rest of the game most of the time

For the clash, the meter goes up when the button is pressed. And it goes down when the button is released. The thing that is confusing is that if you are holding the button, and it maxes out the meter, the meter will start to go down again (even if the button is still held). So you have to release the button again before you can start to fill the meter like before. That’s why people say to hold until you hit max, then ‘mash’ to keep the meter near the top.
Hi Argin, the thing with that mini game well, at least what I do, is delay a little the Square button, because once that shait reach the limit it will go down, so making that little delay actually helps to keep that bar as high as possible, hopefully it will help you with that minigame
I think they needa balance dp battle so it goes off how much damage you do instead of who has more characters cause you can be beating on someone the whole game an not lose a character but lose the battle because the enemy just kept swapping an started with more characters

One thing I noticed is that the higher the rank, the higher the chances of finding these freaking cheesers, which makes the game no fun at all at a certain point... I was enjoying it way more when I was at the early ranks than now, and I'm still at B...

The game feels unresponsive probably is due to the other person's net. Sometimes i can dodge supers and ultras in a game but other times i cant even dash in to do a combo and its frustrating.

Yeah, there needs to be fixes. I do love the game, and there's a lot to enjoy in it, but man, the jerkass community really ruin it as usual in arena fighters.
Gotta remove some stuff cuz even BT3 didn't have half the bs this game put in foe no reason, like the giants having that unblockable charge, ki spamming in sparking mode, and worst of all, that instant regenerating blast stock! That alone is why most of these broken skills feel horrible to fight, because they made it waaaaay too easy to get blast stocks.
Not only that, they made stuff way faster than it needed to be, especially those unblockables, made certain moves like Dragon Fist on GT Goku just

We didn’t have patches back in the day because humans were different we didn’t play like they do today it wasn’t all about winning by any means we cared how we won but mostly we were just having fun.
They should really change the win condition of "Most Health" to "Most Damage"
Using 5 characters should not just make you automatically win over 2 and 3 character teams, as that basically forces you to pick characters with high health and low cost if you want to win.
I personally think it’s the fact we have 5 man teams which makes the mode worse. We need to limit it to 4.

For throwing out your ultimate's you need to wait like half a second after you hold down your right trigger. I haven't had any problems when throwing supers while doing that. Since arena fighters can't have rollback because there are too many inputs a player can make, you need to queue your inputs a little.

I suppose it's a matter of timing when to release the button

Nah, instant spark isn’t the issue, the problem is that ultimates have no mechanical difference from supers. In layman’s terms, you can use an ultimate just as freely and easily as any other attack, despite the fact that ultimates are far and away better than all other attacks. It eliminates the need to actually think about when and how to use them vs. using other moves. Adding a universal character debuff system for ultimates would completely eliminate that issue.
@ that would only really apply to unblock-able Ults though and a system like that would make the block-able ults so bad they aren’t worth using over a normal super attack
