Angela, can you link the two pairs glasses you showed in video? I love both styles :-) Thanks!
The one thing that bothers me about longer skirts on a plane is the hem getting on the floor especially in the rest room. It can be cumbersome to hold the skirt up in such limited space.
Ditto for jumpsuits!
True!!
I have to disagree with wearing a maxi dress. I live in the US but travel to the UK often and would find the hem of a maxi dress would be all over the floor, especially in the bathroom. Also, ankles can get pretty cold on long haul flights, which is why I prefer sneakers and socks!!
Agree
Wendy, I agree especially the big dress in the tiny bathroom whether on plane or a tour bus.
Agree anything that touches floor or anything else in bathrooms atr not a good choice
Absolutely agree. Trip hazard too.
I so agree with you!
I always dress like I might have to emergency evacuate the aircraft…probably my Flight Nurse and 30 years in the USAF background. 😅 I wear slacks and flat or very small block heel shoes and layered tops. I finally bought 2 styles of Spanx pants after years of trying every dupe I could find and they are great! I kept both pairs and wore them enroute on our month plus long European vacation and in every country.
Smart!! I'll try to remember that next time.
I read this 20+ years ago - dress as if you might have an emergency exit: long pants, long sleeves and flats to run away from the plane. I also count the number of rows to the closest exit, just in case you can't see the lights. Fortunately, never needed any of this, but it's my personal "insurance."
@@alicehatfield9519 So smart, 😎
In flight attendant school they teach you the same…be prepared to evacuate…so NO sandals, flip flops or heels-wear flats or tennies so you can move quickly and your feet are protected since you could be climbing over glass and debris. Choose a seat closest to the wing exits especially if you fly over water; those are the exit doors they will want to open. Choose clothes with natural fibers like cotton etc, because most synthetics catch fire more quickly and melt. 🫤 And lastly, most crashes statistically occur at take off and landing so on long flights keep your shoes on and seatbelt fastened during that time. You are safer on a plane than in a car, but contrary to popular belief, you CAN survive a plane crash, so be safe and prepared.
@@anjir.1105 Great advice. On approach on one of my flights the tower thought we had a tire fire, so had to ground evac quickly…I was wearing a fire resistant flight suit and boots. However, after that incident I always consider my clothing choices for safety/comfort and style.
My take on the maxi dress, which will pick up and hold everything on the floor, I wear a loose fitting stretch dress ( knee length, or just above-not tunic-)with tights
No belts. They are one more thing to deal with at security. No long dresses or wide leg long pants because they will dip in the yucky wet bathroom floor ! And absolutely NO to wearing white, for obvious reasons. Cute outfits, but not for the plane.
I am an elderly lady with snow-white hair and love dressing like a lady. It distresses me how low the standard has become in America for looking nice and dressing with style. This video is more in tune to the principles and styles we used to abide by here in our own country. Have we all gone mad?? How much I appreciate it!
Those dresses are very nice but I could never wear any length dress on a plane. I wouldn’t want it dragging in the restroom or on the ground 😮 Also if your going to the Amalfi coast you don’t want to trip on all the stairs! Love you anyway 😃🥰
I have been a Travelon user for years. They are the best, no matter the style a person chooses!
I agree! I’ve been using a Travelon crossbody for overseas travel for years. Your contents are RFID protected, it’s lockable, and slash-proof. The safety and roominess are key considerations for me.
I have been a travelon user for years now. Owned several styles of Travelon bags that I could give honest reviews if required.
I never wear a skirt or dress on a long hail flight especially if it has a flowy style because BATHROOM!
The dresses are cute but as a frequent flyer I prefer separates in layers to wear on the plane that would take a lot of room in the suitcase if I opted to pack them instead. The dresses would be easy to pack and once rolled take so little space.
I always fly with a large scarf/wrap/shawl to do triple duty: shoulder cover/head scarf when entering European churches, wrap for chilly restaurants, lap “blanket” on long flights.
Traveling with dresses is a NO for me. First 98% of the airplanes are cold, those dresses are for summer and I will freeze in the flight. Dresses are not comfortable for flying, just try to go to the bathroom… I never use jeans or sweatpants for flying. I use dressier pants, a long or 3/4 sleeve blouse, a jacket and never sneakers, always a shoe like a penny loafer, easy to pass security, and always use compression socks because bare foot at security or in the airplane is disgusting.
Totally agree. Dresses for an airplane is a hard no. Planes and their bathrooms are filthy and there’s no way to keep long extra fabric from touching it’s surroundings. Plus, they are not particularly warm. Cannot imagine trying to bunch up a dress to use the bathroom.
Spot on. No one who’s ever travelled for a living would pick a long dress to wear on a flight as they’re cumbersome dirt catchers.
Although I agree with everyone’s thoughts on slip on shoes with socks or footies through security, I’ve got to defend Angela’s choices for a few reasons. (1) how do you prevent your pants/jeans from touching the bathroom floors or toilet? - not any easier in my humble opinion;(2) the dresses appear to be thin enough so you won’t have a lot of fabric to “bunch up” anyway ( slip on light weight, calf length tights under dress for cool flights or carry a shawl for your lap ; (3) Angela’s choices fall above ankles, so they don’t drag dirt and (4) no heavy jeans to lug around if you travel light, say with a carryon, as I try to do. I hate lost luggage or hanging out at a luggage carousel.
I totally agree! I cringe when I see people barefoot go through security! I always slip on footie socks and take them off immediately when I put my shoes back on!
I’ve learned from personal experience that anything full and below the mid calf will drag the floor when you sit, making it tough to get in and out of small seats, and challenging to keep in your own space, out of the way of the people you’re next to. And agree…if you don’t have TSA pre and must take off shoes, socks are a must!😊
I love all these outfits for day touring. One of my flying rules is no metal unless absolutely necessary. So no belt buckles or excessive fasteners or even underwires. It gets you through security with less drama. I think that those Skechers slip ons would be easier to get through security faster than tie sneakers.
I am a former runner. We would lace our shoes loosely enough to slip the shoes on without untying them. I still do that to this day even though I haven't run for years.
Travel Tips by Laurie would disagree with you! She says a maxi dress will drag on the bathroom floors of the airport and airplane and pick up every kind of disgusting thing you can imagine.
I never pick a dress that would be so long it would be dragging on the floor...that would be a no for me as well 👍🏻
It's not just the length, it's the flowiness of a longer dress. It will rub against the seats...bathroom seats. I could link to the video she mentions it in, but YT will zap a post with links. I personally, don't think a dress is a good idea. But different strokes for different folks. We can agree to disagree. I wear yoga pants on a plane.
A longer dress will drape to the floor when you sit while waiting to board and also on the plane. Wide leg pants do the same. Both a big NO for me. Joggers keep everything up and out of the way.
I love Laurie. I binged watched her for my first flight ever to NY.
I am a historical reenactor. I regularly use a port a potty while in character. You can keep everything off of the floor and other nasty areas if you know what you're doing. I have yet to have an accident and I've been doing this for over 15 years! Good luck ladies!
I wore a maxi skirt on the fast train between Paris and London, ew boy big mistake. I tripped over it, it got in my way and was a pain in the bathroom. You look darling in your dress, I'm sticking with leggings or comfy jeans and cute shoes.
Sorry - I travel overseas several times/year and a long dress is not practical - airplanes (esp the overseas flights) are very cold plus a dress is too cumbersome in the lav and in the aisles……I wear comfy sneakers, comfy jeans or leggings, a cardigan - Travelon has great travel options
Travel tip. I’ve been everywhere and the main thing you need in a crossbody purse is a metal chain or strip inside the strap. You can have all the locks on the zippers in the world but the way they’re stolen is a quick slice of the strap. Happens all the time so consider that as absolutely essential.
If you wear a crossbody, you can always pit it on under your jacket. It will add one more level of camouflage and not bring to the attention of others and make it much more difficult to remove during a potential theft
Travel for me is a good pair of pants with sneakers a top and jacket..easy peasy😊
I love the leopard belt with this dress! Great choice!
Agree about wearing a dress for travel. I’m tall so unlike others a maxi never drags on the floor. I’ve worn midis as well as long as it’s on the more casual side. I typically pack and wear black/white & denim so I can pack light. My luggage is black & white houndstooth so everything coordinates.
Baggallini is another great brand for travelware. The larger bags also have a section for you to slide over the handle of your roller bag. Lots of pockets, RFID, water resistance, and some pretty cool colors.
What a great video Angela…so chalk full of fashion sense when it’s time to put those outfits together when traveling. You look adorable as always in those dresses. Enjoy your trip, and looks like your all set in the fashion department…you’ll be looking classy and elegant in Europe! Thank you again for sharing all your impressive travel tips and fashionable travel wear!👏🎉🥰👍
Thank you so much Michel! Can't wait to go explore these new countries!! 🥳
Angela - thank you for helping to upgrade how people dress while traveling! So needed. You're wonderful!
I am gree with all you said, @Nancy Wiebmer, and love Angela…. But a dress , especially a long one may sound good , but only until you try it! That is a BIG no for me. Also the bare feet and none slip on shoes have got to go.
Love the Travelon bags! Perfect! Love the idea of an oversized scarf as a large, lightweight additional wrap / blanket if needed!
-Sorry Angela, but thanks for your effort. Several ideas hit the spot! And truly reconsider your choice…. for your sake and an enjoyable trip! And I wish you a glorious adventure!
I like maxi dresses for travel, but also comfortable soft neutral pants & a thin sweater or other warm top. Cute sleek tennis & I add a pair of airplane socks (for international flights). I'm not a fan of denim jackets Bec they are too stiff & rough for me, I like soft easy to move in materials, especially on a flight. Cute choices!
As always, I love your fashion tips (and I smile every time you pull out your jean jacket - you know what you like!) and the introduction to Peepers (I knew about Warby's for glasses, but I'll have to check out Peepers). One thing that I know about traveling in Europe: "How do you spot the Americans?.....They were sneakers/tennis shoes." I've traveled all over Europe many times, 16 so far, (spouse travels for work, so I get the miles to go along)and we stick out like a sore thumb with our obsession with wearing jeans, activewear, and sneakers everywhere. So I absolutely love your maxi-dress fashion advice - why shouldn't you look nice (and be comfortable) when you travel (or simply go meet friends for lunch or dinner)? And congrats on hitting 100K subscribers - I'm one of them!!
Love the leopard belt! I live in Europe and travel quite a bit and recently started to bring a lounge wear set for long flights along with slippers or flip flops. I change into comfy clothes after take off and before the drunk/dinner service starts and this has been my game change. Love all your recommendations! 😊
your outfits are always so cute! I like the Travelon bags too. I did see on a flight attendant's vlog that maxi dresses aren't the best for airline travel. they drag on the floor at your seat and also swirl around in the loo. they say you won't believe what goes on the floors and how they don't get cleaned as well as they should. shudder
You can always pick one that isn't so long that it drags on the floor. 👍🏻
I use Travelon and Pacsafe bags. They are my go to travel bags.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50And most of your dresses I would consider Midi-dresses, not quite as long as Maxi dresses. I prefer the Midi length, and I love to wear dresses. They are so free and easy...at least some of them are. 😊😊
@@angelamasson-fashionover50And, I don't know about you, but when I go to the bathroom, I pull my dress UP, I don't take it off to where it is on the floor.
These outfits are so cute! Jean jackets are my go to! I love the new glasses, too. Belts... I need more! Thank you ~ Belinda
They all look great. I can’t wear sandals on a plane. If you have to take your shoes off going through security..ugh. I’m not going barefoot on those floors!
I love Travelon bags. I have crossbody in two sizes and backpacks in two sizes. I prefer to travel in separates, usually black stretchy pants, simple shirt, and a jeans jacket.
A dress is a great idea! We love road trips and I have tried a few different outfits and am never really comfy or feel under dressed when we stop for food. Also, Leopard is a neutral and pairs with pretty much anything if done right.
The tie cardigan appears so outdated. Love the Jean jacket.
Hi Angela, I’m really new to your videos but have had the opportunity recently to catch up and watch quite a few of them. I’m so impressed by your positive and encouraging attitude and your ability to see what makes a complete outfit look so good. You seem so confident about what colours suit you and what works for you and I wondered if you could create a video to help your viewers find colours that work really well for them and that they can rely on to work? Hope you are having a wonderful time away and many thanks for all your inspirational content! 🥰
The leopard is great….. it’s basically a neutral and goes with everything!! Thanks for the ideas! I was always a Jean jacket girl from the get go…. Kinda put it away … now I think I’ll pull it out!!
Wear maxis all the time, but don’t think I would fly in one. On my flight last month some guy literally pushed me when I was getting off the plane. I think I would have stepped on/ripped the hem while trying to get out of his way giving people more than they want to see. I just wear joggers with jacket.
Leopard print is a neutral! It goes with everything!
I invested in a black cashmere wrap and I take it in my carry-on. It is great as an extra layer, a blanket or a pillow on an airplane. I highly recommend it! If you travel for pleasure and not business, comfort and warmth are most important for me.
Hello how are you doing today?
I travel a lot. Enjoyed your choices and love the throw on jean jacket. Knowing several pilots (including my husband) recommend wearing secure shoes. If you were to have to evacuate quickly the first thing you lose are your shoes. Being the fearful flyer I am I always wear tie sneakers. Just saying 😊
Absolutely! You have to wear what makes YOU more comfortable....always 😊👍🏻
Interesting! I love the olive green dress but thought it looked much better with the tie-front cardigan rather than the denim jacket! :)
I ordered the Travelon bags you mention, and one of them arrived today. I am so pleased with it; I know I am going to get a lot of use out of it. Not only is it really cute AND practical; it also feels really elegant to the touch (almost silky). Thanks for the great recommendation!
I've worn dresses for travel for awhile now. It's even comfortable for car rides!
This lady is the most accidentally funny person I’ve seen on YT for years! The get up about sneaking alcohol on flights in lotion bottles, the Poop-po-Ree episode, hilarious!
I love my Travelon crossbody for the very reasons you showed.
Love these looks!
Love all your maxi dresses and the different jacket/sweater combo on you👍
All the dresses are so pretty!!
To all the ladies below who forgot to hold up their skirts when going to the bathroom. This is something our mothers taught us hopefully when we were 5 or 6..... or if wearing something long be mindful of where you are going so it does not drag on the steps or get caught in the escalator, lol. It is also about sizing, don't let the hem go below mid calf, then one can be safer where the hem lands in strange places. I am in my 70s now and will stick to leggings and something knee length to be honest. But this is me. Angela has some great styling ideas. Thank you Angela for brightening my day.
Love Travelon purses and products. Great find.
Angela perfect timing as we will be traveling as well. Great outfits and love that you go out of your comfort zone and try new things. This is very encouraging for me to try new looks. Thank you.
Thank you Mary! 😊
I don't care what anyone says Angela, I love that jean jacket with everything!
Hi Angela, great ideas I’ve never thought of wearing a maxi dress. I wore joggers my last trip with a denim jacket and slip on tennis and it was perfect. I think the best take away from this one is the blanket scarf! I ended up buying a blanket on the plane because I was cold.❤
The blanket scarves are great! I even used it on our bus tours in the past 👍🏻
The readers!!! Omg I love them on you! And although I want to buy EVERYTHING you’ve shown, that green strapless maxi with the jean jacket and sneakers is by far the best! It looks fantastic on you❤️ I swear it took 20 years off. I have to have that and pray it does the same for me. You’re doing such a great job😉 thank you for everything.
Wow the comments…you look terrific and I appreciate the ideas
Peepers are very cute and good quality, we sell them at the gift shops I work at!! Great dress options but I’m short so some are too long or waste line is a little lower and sits weird for me…When I find ones that work they are very comfortable to wear!! 👍🙏🇺🇸😊🐾
CONGRATS ANGELA FOR 100K SUBSCRIBERS!!! I like the new way you're jazzing up your videos with music. Every video you do keeps getting better and better, keep up the good work.
Love your travel tips! Really helpful.
Love your budget friendly pieces!
Angela, I love your personality and great videos. You have such a great fashion sense!
I like the Birkies and the " shawl". I'd size up in the one dress . Be safe and enjoy your trip. I loved Amsterdam and Paris! Bon jour ~
I’m in Spain now. I’m loving my travelon cross body because of the locking of all the pockets. A leather bag would have been prettier, but not being pick pocketed is more important!
love your choices. I agree! long skirts, or wide leg pants are perfect for long flights. I love the jean jacket + and the cross body bag. Win! I will consider the maxi dress from now on!
Leopard print is a "basic" and goes with everything! Looks super cute with the lilac color dress. Green readers definitely
Thank you Mary! 😊
Hi Angela, thanks for these suggestions! These will come in handy for my upcoming Turks and Caicos trip! I like the tortoise shell style glasses on you, by the way. The dresses are really stylish for such a stylish lady as yourself! Great video!
Have a wonderful time in Turks and Caicos Sharon!! I have heard it is beautiful there!! 😊
I love the leopard belt with purple dress
I favor the Jean jacket also!! Great video 🤩
Great ideas Angela. and Congrats on 100K!!!!!!!!
I love m’y Travelon purses and bags!!!!
I think the thinner leopard print belt looks better than the wider silver toned clasp belt. More flattering.
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Angela! I've been wearing maxi dresses and jersey jumpsuits for travel for years! Super comfy and stylish at the same time. I alternate between jean jacket and comfy longer cardigan. I love the strapless dress, but I'm not sure how travel friendly it would be...strapless bras and comfort don't go together haha. Love the white dress with the pink blazer...if the blazer isn't a wrinkly fabric, thats such a classy travel outfit.
You go girl! How come it took me so long to even try a maxi dress for travel??? 🤣😜. I must have been crazy until I hit 53....just kidding.
Love your videos ! Early congratulations on hitting that 100k plaque !!!!😊
Thank you so much Ruth!! 🥰
I am actually moving towards an "all dresses" wardrobe. I am so tired of having a "complex" wardrobe. As long as you have dresses that are comfortable and well-fitting, there is no reason to complicate things further. Add a couple of jackets, blazers, cardigans and you're ready to go - EVERY SINGLE DAY! When did we start buying several pairs of jeans, pants, a variety of shirts, and even more items. I am done. I want to get to 10 dresses, maybe a skirt or two (because I do love the vintage wool skirts), a couple of jackets and sweaters and I am done for a LONG time. I am 63 and it took me this long to simplify my life on so many levels. I do love your wardrobe designs so I am sure I will still benefit from your channel.
Found you while looking into "The Vilages" and I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! I haven't been this excited to go shopping in years! Thank you for all your great outfit, makeup advice. You're an absolute joy to watch with a cup of coffee in the morning!
I've worn maxis on planes and for shorter flights, that's great. I usually opt for a mini or midi with a pr. of leggings and I carry or wear a nice, long cardigan and either Uggs or slip-on shoes ... oh, and if it's a longer flight, don't forget to take a pr. of cheap slippers (like the free ones from hotels) in your carry-on!!!
My perfect airplane travel outfit was a light weight pair of wrinkle free pants paired with same color sleeveless racer back athletic wear breathable top. I matched it with a short sleeve cotton floral camp shirt. I was going to Hawaii and when I got there I took off the shirt and stayed cool in the tropical climate.
I love Travelon everything. Great travel luggage also
We used to call this “tea length” where as maxi was longer. These are is the perfect dresses and appropriate for summer travel and touring in Europe.
I like your tips!
Your pink jean jacket would work for a few of those dresses. Especially the last one.
I went to Rack Room Shoes; we have an outlet mall in my town. They had some 'cuter' Birkenstocks, slimmer, that even though I'm not a Birk girl, I bet those that wear them will find them cute. But, Crocs had their wedge heel slides too. Even Sketchers had them. Soooo incredibly light weight!
Greetings Angela! I love these dresses! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Thank you Jean! 😊
Oh gosh, I love the leopard glasses on you!! And the total outfit was adorable!
Love all the outfits with the jean jacket.
All the outfits look darling on YOU!
Thank you Karen! 😊
For flights I always wear elastic waist stretchy pants with a banded ankle or tight enough ankle (think dressier joggers) so that the pants do not touch the floor of airplane bathroom. I like a flowing dress to keep cool at my destination. You can pull it up and tuck it onto the bodice in the bathroom.
Hi Angela, I loved all your outfits, especially with your jean jacket. I will be traveling a good bit in the next few months so I will try some of your cute outfits. Thanks again. And your house is adorable.
Hi Angela, I love the white dress with the pink blazer, that looks great.🌷🌷
Thank you Cathy! 😊
Hi Angela! I love the green readers. Look great on you.
Thank you! I think that is one of my "power colors" 🤣👍🏻 Goes with my eyes.
I love your videos but no dresses for me on a plane❤️
I really like and prefer the jean jacket look too!
Great minds think alike 😊👍🏻
I love my jean jackets, I have 3..LOL... and I love them over a dress... you look so cute in the long dress with jacket and sneakers or sandals
Love everything. Can’t wait till you do an outfit of the day. Always love those. Maybe even how you pack as to whether yr an overpacker or a carryon only lady. Thanks.
I am such a carry on only lady 🤣 been doing that for years. For this next 13 day trip we are taking, I will only take 6 outfits and wear each 2 times....once at the beginning of the trip and once towards the end. I almost never come back with things I didn't wear but yet I still feel like I had everything I needed. It's a beautiful thing not to have to wait for luggage or loose it. 😊👍🏻
I get the idea of wearing the outfits twice but we’re taking a cruise. There’s outfits during the day, pool, ports 😫then evenings. Angela, I just can’t do it. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Cute styles but they’re not for traveling by air. Maybe on a short flight but for long flights where a visit to the lavatory is likely, I’ll have to pass on the maxi skirt. Even walking up and down the aisle in a maxi and sitting next to someone I’ll be brushing up against their shoes, etc. Super comfy I’m sure, just not practical for air travel.
I favir the first pair of glasses you wore.
TSA told me my maxi dress was the reason I was stoppped.
Best to wear a midi dress instead. Nowadays body scanners are better but still macis aren great in airplane toilets.
loved the white tiered dress (outift 4) and the lilac dress (outift 1) and definitely a belt...I'm a belt person...enjoyed the video
Pockets are a must
Travelon bags are good for everyday and great for travel!
Have a great time on your vacation
Thank you Brenda!
That’s what I use🎉🎉🎉
