Nice looking board. What's the actual weight and approximate volume of this thing at the end? What was the density range you bought this blank in? Couldn't you have gone away with 4oz on the deck and 4oz on the bottom ... or maybe even 2oz? I mean, heal dents on the deck are not the end of the world, aren't they? And is there a way to fin out epoxy for the hot coat as it is possible with polyester resin? Cheers!
Actually love the finished product! Very interesting choice of materials. keen on trying it out myself. I’ve built a wooden board out of redwood beams that I’ve chambered to make the board buoyant and much lighter, I think taking that approach with this material would eliminate any off gassing and also even further reduce weight. I’ve got a video on my channel how I built it, check it out if you’d like. Would love to hear what you think of it. Hope you’re getting waves mate!
Thanks! It would certainly reduce some weight, but to be honest this wood is insanely light to begin with, a bit like balsa if you've ever got your hands on that. I'll check out your video 🙌
@@MrZensoner well spotted! I was there earlier this year in the north to surf. Managed to check out the waterpark on the last day, definitely worth it!

Hot coating the stick, shining like a glizzy gobbler. Nom nom nom
Love how you made a shipping container into a shaping bay
