  • It is Cycle day 18, y'all!!! We have 2 more months TTC on our own before I go to the endocrinologist and this cycle has been WEIRD! I don't know what is going on with my body, our infertility, if I could be pregnant, if we can still get pregnant, why I got high fertility but no peak, and all the things. SO MANY QUESTIONS RIGHT NOW. So...we had a bit of a time crunch to ttc this month with me going out of town and I didn't get the peak fertility. BUT I did get high fertility for over a week! And....Brian and I have been wondering if I could still get pregnant this cycle cuz we def. tried! Or....is there something else going on? This has never happened before.👶It's in the Lord's hands! TTC after miscarriage or loss is ROUGH! But, it will work out one way or another.

    Your feelings are valid, and I definitely get it. Just had an appointment with a new fertility doc today and while I’m feeling hopeful (even cried happy tears while I was there) it’s been harder and harder to be positive after so much heartache and loss...and I’m sure you can relate. They recommended I see a therapist, which I’m hesitant about but know I need. No one understands unless you go through it, and with 4 consecutive losses and now my husband deployed until January, I’ve definitely been feeling down in the dumps. You’re not alone, and I am cheering for you and Brian! I know you’ll have your family one way or the other, God just has different timing than we expected. ❤️🙏🏻

    Hi Carissa, NONE of my ovulation tests were positive in March and yet we conceived. I had a digital test and a normal strip test as well. Holding thumbs for you guys xx

    Taking your BBT and charting will be really helpful in understanding your cycles and when you ovulate. I had long cycles and ovulated around day 21/22 each month. I would never have known without charting and I owe it to falling pregnant twice so quickly. Good luck xx

    Love you Carissa!
    I’m not telling you this because I’m trying to be rude or shut you up or anything but maybe as a perspective. My mom struggled to get pregnant with me for 7 years. I asked her how it finally worked and she said she was so focused on getting pregnant she was overthinking it and her body was stressed. The second they made a huge life investment she found out she was pregnant with me. Then majority of the pregnancy she was bedrest and I think high risk.
    She always tells me if I want something incredible, give it to god and let go. In my own hands things can be messy and stressful. But with god it’s right.
    I wish you made videos of everyday life. Day in the life of Carissa. I’d stop working to watch you! Positive light in this world!

    Hey Carissa, I just have to say something here.. it might not be you! It could be Brian, has he ever had a Sperm DNA test?

    Before considering assisted reproduction techniques (any of them). would it not be a good place to start testing sperm DNA fragmentation and morphology and motility). I can tell you I regret not starting this way first as I feel all blame shifted to me without any confirmation the problem started with me (recurrent miscarriages). I feel all testing should start with the sperm to save so much suffering.

    I can't remember if you've talked before about charting, but if you don't track bbt, I really do recommend it. It will help confirm ovulation, even if you may have "missed" a peak on opk. Hopefully you have truly ovulated and it worked. But I understand the stress and the questions... I'm on CD28 and STILL have not gotten a positive opk (super unusual for me), so I get the stress. Good luck on your trip!

    When you track ovulation for many months in a row, you’ll definitely notice that not every cycle is the same. I had atypical pcos (none of the outward signs), and just when I thought my body was in a rhythm it would change. I can’t tell you how many months I thought I wasn’t going to ovulate and then I’d get a positive test on cd 22. 😳 Ovulating late and having a short luteal phase was one of our issues during ttc.
    If you bd right before you left, it could be totally fine because sperm can last up to 5 days!

    • @kritimotiyani

      how many days after cd 22 did you get your period?

  • @oliviayzen
    @oliviayzen 5 років тому +3

    Tracking ovulation drove me nuts. The best advice I got, was to count 10 days after my period and just try every other day until the end of the month. If your cycles are shorter, maybe you need to start earlier. You never know when you’re ovulating if your hormones are kinda messed up. The month we stopped timing it for ovulation and instead just blanket “tried” over the month, we conceived. It makes me wonder if I was missing my ovulation earlier in the month. Especially when I got a dating scan and my estimated conception time was earlier than I thought it would be.

    My husband is 57y and me turning to 36y old very soon. We decided to have a baby and been trying for some years now. We both had full body checked up incl his sperm DNA tested and the results were totally fine for both of us. Since then until today we're still not pregnant yet. Ps we both are not smoking and stop drinking quite awhile ago and hoping one day it'd be our day come true too. So I just wanted to say that you are not alone Carissa. If I could I would give you a BIGGGGGG hug right the way.🤞🤞🤞👱‍♀️🤰

    Definitely recommend bbt, because you can ovulate without a positive opk. I don't get positive opks but I definitely ovulate regularly. So bbt would show you if ovulation has happened (but need to do it from early on in the cycle to see the pattern) ;)

    Have you considered getting a tempdrop? It makes temping really easy (you just put it on your upper arm at night and then synch it in the morning whenever you get up). Temping is really nice for confirming ovulation in case you missed it with opk sticks.

  • @jenaguilar7154
    @jenaguilar7154 5 років тому +1

    I often missed the "peak", even when I did ovulate, it's easy to do. I used the same tests you use, and the last time I didn't have a peak and we conceived. Don't worry! I would say do the BD during your entire fertile window to play it safe. I know 100% how you feel!!

    I struggled with unexplained infertility for 3 years before conceiving my son and then 14 months later conceiving my daughter (in my mid thirties, btw). I was like you - fit, no pcos, regular but short cycles. When I started temping, I realized my luteal phase was short - lower than optimal progesterone. To make a very long story short 😊 the underlying problem I had was insulin resistance throwing my hormones off. Yet when the specialists tested me, all they could come up with is "unexplained infertility." You may want to take a look into the ketogenic way of eating. It dramatically helped me and has been known to help with balancing hormones and increasing fertility. I wish you all the best!

    • @CrystalM1917
      @CrystalM1917 2 роки тому

      You can still have pcos with regular cycles, thin, and no cysts. Pcos is a spectrum and insulin resistance is the underlying cause.

    If it doesn’t happen this month definitely do your BBT. It took us 3 years to get pregnant with our first...second was a surprise. The third and fourth I did my BBT and got pregnant the second month with both of them. You can tell easily if you are ovulating our not. Good luck! Hope this is your month!

    • @DeeBoss84

      Yup...especially with PCOS. The body can release the chemical and you can get a positive ovulation test and still not release an egg.

    Have you ever tried the Ava bracelet? It helped me because it took the temp for me and I didn’t have to worry about taking it every morning.
    I know the frustration. I’m so sorry. It’s exhausting and tiring and so dang hard. Thinking of you ❤️

  • @lcadez
    @lcadez 5 років тому +2

    Carissa, it is totally possible that you are ovulating late... or early. I am sure you have done it, but have you charted temperature along with your ovulation tests? I kept missing ovulation with the tests alone, so I started doing my BBT and it really helped me pinpoint when I was ovulating. I found out I wasn't ovulating every month, too!

    I hated tracking ovulation. I never got a positive opk and it would just stress me out. Eventually I stopped using them and just paid attention to my cm. If I had ewcm then we would bd every other day until it went away. I ovulated on CD 30 the cycle we conceived our son so it's never too late.

    The first thing doctors check out before assisted techniques or in case of undiagnosed yet infertility is the sperm. The easiest one to be tested. Karyotype is next to find out the cause of miscarriage. You'd be surprised how many men haven't got normal morphology, motility etc and at a very young age. Of all the doctors I know, not one checked women in depth first (hsg for example) unless there's a diagnosed problem.

    Proov is another test you can take to confirm ovulation. It’s tests for progesterone which can help give you a better answer.
    Also you can use pregnitude to help regulate your cycle. My doctor recommended it. It has helped a lot of people.

    My husband and I have been ttc for almost 2 years (after my tubal reversal). After so many testing, and treatments, we finally got pregnant 14 months later. We got pregnant with twins, but we lost them at 4 and 5 weeks gestation. I got pregnant again 2 months ago and last month, but it was a chemical pregnancies. Last month I surge twice! Ovulation tests came positive on cd 11 and cd 15 (I usually surge on cd 17). I got 10 positive faint lines, and 4 positive ovulation tests on 10dpo, 11dpo and 15dpo, but negative on 12dpo, 13dpo, 14dpo, and I just started my menstrual cycle today! My fertility specialist told us that we both are ok, even that my husband is 48 and I will be 37 soon. We will do another round of IUI and letrozole. Hopefully will work this time. If not, then we will stop trying again, and see what happens.

    Are you not basal temping? Since that would have shown you if you had already ovulated. You can get positive ovulation tests without actually ovulating so if you have only been doing opks without temping maybe you aren't actually ovulating every month like you thought? On a positive note, when we got all 3 of our bfps following infertility (a chemical and 2 kids) I had a weird cycle where I ovulated even later than usual (I'm already a late ovulater anyway). Good luck.

    I would suggest not using the digital ones as they seem to be very confusing. I would suggest using the cheapy ones from amazon.then take a test everyday starting when your period ends and you should see the line progressively get darker each day.once you see two lines that are as dark as the control line have some sexy time!!!!

    If an ovulation test is picking up Hgc then you have enough to take a pregnancy test. Stop stressing, cycles are just different sometimes and stressing about it will make it crazier.

You definitely could be ovulating later in your cycle, especially with the high fertility’s on the clear blue. Could working out everyday lengthen your cycle too? Just a thought 🤷🏼‍♀️
