I have the exact same tent and had the same issue with mine bought a 10x10 canopy put it over front screen room and a tarp to drape over the canopy and over screened sides and that cured the problem but I do agree with you there needs to be some type of flies for that entire screen room to prevent that issue from happening
I loved your video. Your a hoot. I have a similar.. Tent I put a indoor/outdoor carpet in the screen room part. I also put a tarp under the tent were it also covers the the screen in part too. . then for the screen room. I bought shower curtains from the dollar store and attached them all around the screen room. Worked well. Enjoy your next camping trip..
I just stumbled upon your video and love what you guys do. Keep up the good work. The wife and I are going camping next week for a couple of days....looking forward to it.
Awesome video. I was going to order this tent but decided to go into the store to check clearance…..I found it for $50.00. Exact same tent. I purchased a tarp to cover the screen room. Happy camping. Thanks for the set up video🏕️⛺️
I have the Evanston & I had to custom make a tarp for the porch. However I noticed your rain fly stops where the porch begins. Possibly attaching a tarp to the existing one & it can extend past the porch. Maybe a vehicle awning As a seamstress on the side, I’ve made some modifications such as adding mesh pockets to the inside, porch & outside. Added a flexible pole & loops to raise the porch ceiling up, custom made tarp panels for the porch, repairing the floor with RV underbelly tape (use the 8”)
The screen room is nice for storage when its not raining. I believe the holes on the bottom sides of the screen room are for running extension cords into the tent. Also so you can leave a propane tank outside and run a hose from it into the tent for a buddy type heater.
I bought that tent and I bought a 12x16 tarp and two tent poles to cover the front screen and the two port holes on the bottom seems for electrical inlets. Duck tape it!
Bought and just returned. I actually found out the skydome can come with screen and is basically an upgraded version of this, as it solves the issues she's brought up. In my area it's on sale $25 more so I think that extra spend is worth it
the holes on the sides, on the bottom of the screen is for water to drain out,, lift the bottom front of the screen and the water will drain out. also electrical cords to go through
They needed to put those holes in the corners up a little higher to prevent any rain or mice from getting in. A taught flap or overlay over the holes. In case someone doesn't have a use for the holes to run a line of electricity into their tent. Otherwise, like this demonstration. ✨️💙👍
My thought is that if you want to avoid getting the opening party of the tent getting wet, is to use a moving blanket underneath the tent and in the screen room so that the bottom doesn't get wet and block the openings with duct tape to avoid the bugs getting in.. maybe to protect the screen room as well is put a tarp over it and tie it down using pegs to avoid it getting wet inside. It would keep things dry in the screen room so I don't think it's pointless or tie a tarp to the tree that it's long enough to cover the screen room. Problem solved.
That's cool thank you. I bought it but I live in the desert so there isn't a lot of rain. So it worked for us. But yeah maybe put a tarp first then the rain cover?
I really want a screen porch, but the lack of a proper overhang for the porch space is a deal-breaker for so many of the tents today with porches. It is a real design flaw that diminishes the value of that space. A huge benefit of a screen porch is that it still feels outdoors but provides you freedom from bugs and rain. Why spoil that, Coleman? Just build a larger awning.
Hahaha, you are a Hoot! You made this a fun video to watch. I was considering getting this tent but not now. That screen room floor must have been designed by an engineer sitting at a desk, having never been camping in the rain. I think you might be better off cutting that floor portion out....I would. Thanks for making this video and sharing it! God Bless
It’s manageable. It’s designed so the water doesn’t enter the main hub it’s sloped toward the dirt so the rain goes into the screen room and drains out the front.
@@1kickatthecan368 Thanks - I ended up returning it in favor of the Nemo Aurora. Just got back from camping and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Much better airflow and water shedding, among other improvements, but not cheap. I also realized I really don't care to block light, and the heat of the sun won't bother me at night.
For then front of that tent it's the same one I have but a little smaller it's a 4 person tent ! What I use in the first place cause I knew the front would get really wet ! I use a tarp one that's strong stretchy and dark color so it would like it was part of the tent !? It's a dark grey color you can use 4 pulls with tie string to tie the string on the pulls walking sticks kinda . them put it just over the front of it oh make sure the tarp is isn't to big or to small k lol

Me too, at Walmart!
Wow awesome price. I love those kind of deals.

My son is dying of laughter at “his weapon of choice is STICKS!” Hahaha 😂

Well this solves my dilemma of whether or not to get a tent with the screen room or the one without. Definitely don't want to deal with that water.
Loved your video & think you looked amazing & keep making more videos.

Thanks 😊
Thanks for review. Was it Risers beech camping btw?
It was Laurie park in Wellington.
Now that you've had it what are your thoughts?
Gotta put the front part under a canopy seems like
I would recommend the ozark trail teepee tent has lots of ventilation and a lot of space. It’s a very good tent.
thanks
If is raining it’s gonna wild wet out front or can be manageable??
It’s manageable. It’s designed so the water doesn’t enter the main hub it’s sloped toward the dirt so the rain goes into the screen room and drains out the front.
Just picked one up at Ollie's for 79 the cheapest I see it online is 159
I just got this one today. It looked like you had the lantern hanging in the tent. Is there a hook or loop for one?
I think there was. We only used it this once, so I’m not sure.

The front has no fly because it's strictly a summer tent. The chances of rain are slim in most cases.

What's the beach shelter?
Can you put the tent up without the screen room set up?
No It’s all one piece.
Is call Colman and tell them to send you another rain fly to put over that ! You spent $200? I was at Walmart here in Ohio it’s 87.00
Umm first of all it's probably purchasd in Canada which is more expensive than the states. Did you think about the dollar conversion from 87.00 us?
I'm in TN and its 170 here
170 in Ohio
