- The Chicago Bears could still land MHJ if they trade back only a few spots. An ideal target? The New England Patriots.
The Patriots are rumored to be very interested in USC QB Caleb Williams as the team is looking to move on from QB Mac Jones.
With the Chicago Bears owning the #1 overall pick in the 2024 draft, there ar eother teams like THe Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, and anyone else who wants to send a historic haul for the #1 overall pick.

I would do any suggested trade, as long as we get MHJr. I like what Poles has done and I trust his vision to build this team. Outside of MHjr, there’s a lot of players I like, and I think Poles will make good choices. Just get Marvin!!

Pats haven’t been linked to Caleb Williams anywhere. Also, the Pats need those picks. We see how DISASTROUS this trade was for Carolina. Doesn’t make any sense for them if it looked like they will have their choice of Maye or Daniels.

There are some things I like about this trade idea and some things that concern me. I like the idea of not moving too far down. But I'm concerned about AZ trading up to the #2 spot and drafting MHJ while WAS from the #4 spot can still get who they believe is the next best QB (at a slightly lesser price) and added picks.
If that happens we'll find ourselves with the #3 pick without the guy we wanted (MHJ) being there. From there I suppose we could trade back further and still get Odunyze and more draft capital. After watching the highlight film and hearing Odunyze, I like him. Not more than MHJ but enough to be okay with missing out on MHJ if it means Odunyze and MUCH more draft capital.
Secondly, I like the idea of getting the safety from NE to replace Jackson. But the money we spend in extending him won't be there to extend Johnson. This may be okay because we'd be getting younger and upgrading the S position for not much more than we would've been paying Jackson.
For us, getting "a haul" from WAS that includes the #2 pick is the best-case scenario because it allows us to remain in position to get MHJ for certain while adding draft picks and perhaps getting a much-needed player with the money we save by cutting Jackson.

You are right on. The drop off from Harrison to Odunze is not that great, and Nabers is real good, even in the early 2nd round there will be some excellent names like the SC wr. I like making Washington cough up 2 2024 2nd's and a 2025 1st and I do believe NE would want to get X QB they would have to give us at least a 2 this year and a 2 next year. I would be happy to stop there. I would get Alt and then the decision would be to take a stud DE to go with Sweat and grab an excellent wr or 2 with the 3 second round picks or grab the wr at 9. We can not lose either way in my mind. Even if we traded first to Washington and then to NYG we would have a chance for 1 of 2 stud LT's, definitely one of the other great wr's.
Why would we trade for a DB we have 1 of the most Elite DB cores in the Nfl. Belechick develops and schemes CBs up. They are never as good anywhere else. Hicks is slept 😴 on but is a very good Safety. If/when we cut Eddie I believe they bring in competition to complete w/Hicks. Also, You can sign 1 of the best Safeties in the Nfl in Free Agency for the same price we pay Bojack

That is an awful lot for the patriots to give up but Caleb Williams is a much more highly touted prospect than any of the quarterbacks coming out last year. New England seems pretty desperate

I love this scenario that you laid out. Everything I'm hearing on the radio says that everyone at the senior bowl and the Super Bowl is convinced that the Bears are going to take Caleb number one overall - I don't believe that to be true. This #1 pick is worth way too much to the Bears in terms of building the rest of the roster. I say trade the pick and build around Justin.

The number one pick this year is worth too much to gamble on an unknown. Caleb is not guaranteed to be the next Mahomes. Teams can win with average quarterbacks if the team is Great around him.

What would stop (#2) Washington moving back to (#4) Cardinals and letting them draft MHJ? At that point they know the Bears are not going QB, they could get additional picks and still take Maye or Daniels, and we lose out of MHJ...could be risky.

I am all for trading back, but we need to get into the 2nd round with at least one pick. At late first would work as well for a top center. I would even go as far as letting MHJ go to the highest bidder and grab Odunze and then build out the roster with draft capital this year and for the next 2 years! Either way Bear Down baby!

Generally I agree but I think a good option is a trade down of our 9 to 20 with Pittsburgh to grab their 2nd round pick (plus more, I’m sure) and you take Jackson Powers at 20. You can snag someone like Jonah Ellis at DE in the 2nd. Basically walk away with MHJ, JPJ, a solid 2nd round DE, and a S in the trade.. plugging most of your holes. I love grabbing facade Stover in the 3rd and another depth O line piece or two, as well.
@@mitchosborne8159 the 3rd round is where I see us getting guard help to have options on the iol. Arizona has some great options with draft capital and could see them wanting to grab our 9 for their late 1st round to try and make the jump.

I am not sure about whether spending a lot on the safety would be so good. We need to start the trading with Washington. If they want to win the bidding it will cost them both of their 2024 2nd's and at least a 2025 1st. Then the calls will still be going crazy. If New England wants to win that bidding, it will take a 2024 second and a 2025 1st. I would stop there and grab Alt and at pick 9 would either take the best wr, or get the DE and we would have 3 2024 seconds to load up. Bear Down!

I can see the trade back with wash more but see both sides. Wash gives us 2 40 first next and either a 2 next or Payne cause they need more cap. But if you trade with NE and get this I’m so down. poles is going to draft caleb williams because it will buy him several more years in the front office and williams is the top qb prospect since trevor lawrence. if he passes on williams and williams becomes as good as expected and fields continues to not improve he could be fired as early as next season while drafting williams would give him job security for 3 more years at least

I hope we can let Jaylen go and draft a CB . We can get the best CB in the draft if use the 9th pick on that position to trade back. Also I would like us to use our money on the DL that will help the DBs out. Jaylen only talks about money all season he’s talked about how he wants to be paid the highest and every gesture he makes is the money one . Players like that are not worth it imo. We will pay him and he will play like crap. We can use that money somewhere else and use the draft on that premium position. Why does nobody bring up Bears trading down for a haul and the drafting Drake Maye, and then Rome Odunze. That way the get extra picks a quarterback that many consider equal or better that Caleb Williams. And the still get a great WR to go with DJ. Just wondering why nobody brings it up. I know UNC QB scared. But Maye is way better that he who shall not be named. Lol.
