Every time you give us a thumbs up a Narwhal gets its horn! (maybe..)
McGonagall's hatred of Umbridge will never not be hilarious. If I really had to pick the funniest line, I'd go with "Obviously I got your message, or I would have asked what you are doing in my classroom".
“Usually I do not permit talking in my class”
Or something along those lines
YESSSS, THE ABSOLUTE BEST LINE 🤣
"Have a BISCUIT, Potter."
And we also despise Umbridge
McGonagall is absolutely iconic for these 😂
Maggie smith did an awesome job portraying this awesome character
Irreplaceable!
Too bad her screen time got reduced. Especially in the fifth film.
Chanel did better
@@likecascade7015she was really sick though so that’s probably why. I do agree with being bummed about it though. She’s truly the best!
@@darthseverus89 don’t forget the late great Alan Rickman 🥲
Ben saying biscuit from a tartan tin and J saying it’s called a Ginger Newt is tantamount to their incredibly specific collective knowledge. Those are some incredible details 😅
J is 100% wrong with his answer. The question asks about what McGonagall gives harry when he sent to Prof. Umbridge's office, and that is a biscuit. The ginger newt is a totally different scene. That takes places when all three are in the same room during Harry's career advice session.
@@r00swizzy J is not 100% wrong in his answer, like he said a ginger newt is literally a biscuit. So either way his answer was biscuit. He just happened to be wrong about the specific type of biscuit in that scene (and might not even be wrong if it was never clarified in the scene where she tells him to "have a biscuit, potter").
@@r00swizzy Unless I have the scene wrong, I looked up the pdf of the book, and when she says ‘have a biscuit’ he takes a ginger newt.
UA-cam’s not letting me edit this, I meant to type ‘the wrong scene’ not ‘the scene wrong’.
@@aqwkingchampion13 literally did the same thing, was really impressed when they were both 100% correct!
Maggie smith deserves all the praise for her amazing portrayal❤❤❤❤
I love how Ben never argues when he gets an answer wrong but jay always cries his way into a point
19:30 finally! a cosmere reference!
i'd like to point out Jay got the first question more accurately because if they're square, rectangle can technically encompass square
All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. 🤓
Random mist born was awesome
28:26 Wait…does this mean Ben thinks Dumbledore and McGonagall were students together?!?!
I need to know his reasoning!
That mistborn reference threw me off i had to double check what i was watching for a moment
Jay has the full-on Victorian silent movie villain moustache.
It's still so glad j is still going with the stash. Idk if I can see him without it now.
You guys always make My day ❤❤❤
It’s impossible reading the books and not imagining McGonagall being any different than Maggie Smith.
Lol on the "every word you just said was wrong"
I was cringing at her pronunciations, and then burst out laughing when it was addressed so hilariously!
It unscrews the other way
More Mistborn reference please.
Jon's mustache is so Snidely Whiplash
How funny would it be if J wrote BRB before Ben and he did the first sponsor, and Ben was left confused and said that my job
We love Quizabelle’s voice
Not gonna lie I've always kinda wished we could get a speculation theory video on how quote amazing Dumbledore was with the original order all we got was molly saying it in passing how he put up the fight with them and despite their best efforts the dark Lord was on the cusp of rising until he disappeared man want harry potter the first order
J looks ridiculous with the hat and glasses 😂😂😂
ExCuSe ME!! Tortoise Shell is PERFECTLY fine for a cat! I have a Tortoise Shell cat named Turtle 😂
I know it's not canon. But the babbling bumbling band of baboons quote should've been in this quiz
I’m so mad! Question 8 came on and I was like “Oh it’s four stunners!” And then I saw them saying five and I was scared I was gonna get it wrong so I changed my answer! 😂 Then I missed that question!
Can you guys explain the cal story from Star Wars
Hmm not sure I'd count Ginger Newts vs Biscuits
J looks like that British dude who drinks a lot of liquor
Hey Ethan is your mother a hamster? Bhahahahhaha or at least I hope you get the joke as a fellow Pythoinen.
Cat
Did you mention j gaslighting quizabelle, then cut when it happened in order to gaslight everyone?
For question 11, she is just listing them in alphabetical order. Not really any favoritism in that.
Here is directly from the book:
"Hermione, Parvati, and Lavender all screamed. No fewer than four Stunners had shot from the figures around the cabin toward Professor McGonagall."
and also later;
"“She’s not here, Potter,” said Madam Pomfrey sadly. “She was transferred to St. Mungo’s this morning. Four Stunning Spells straight to the chest at her age? It’s a wonder they didn’t kill her.”"
Interesting, I've got the 3rd edition of the Order and I shall re-read it as I've read the chapter recently.
Stephen Fry's reading of it says 6. I'll have to relisten to it.
Edit: You are correct, having just listened to both chapters it states "4"... Hmmm always heard 6 for some reason. Oh well.
@@Martyn_Wolf me too lol
@@The_Tin_Knight Not sure why I amwa heard 6 when listening too it, there we are 😂
Gotta love how flitwick gets essentially a sherley temple and hagrid gets a crapton of mead. I guess flitwick’s the designated driver.
poor flitwick trying to drive hagrids bike while standing on the seat so he can see over the handlebars.
also poor hagrid being crushed in the sidecar with his knees by his chin.
26:50 now that’s a throwback! Shoutout Pete Malfoy, Draco’s uncle-grandpa from the Deep-South who delivers mail by gator
You forgot he’s lives in the Okefenokee
Maggie Smith is truly the only person who could ever be Minerva McGonagall, she was made for that role
Maybe Angela Lansbury or Julie Andrews could have
@crawdaddy2004 Julie Andrews I could definitely see
Chanwills0 does an excellent vocal impression.
J definitely said "Quegnants", is this his version of Cumberbatch's "Pengwings"?
😂 not the pengwings 😂
Poor Benedict. No one will ever let him live that down.
Quizabelle was READY with that Minervous joke. Brava!
I try to be prepared
Wish the mention of McGonagall telling Peeves to rotate the chandelier the opposite way would have been in the quiz.
Both biscuit and ginger newt is technically true since its. Professor McGonagall: "Is it true that you shouted at Professor Umbridge?"
Harry Potter: "Yes. "
Professor McGonagall: "You called her a liar?"
Harry Potter: "Yes."
Professor McGonagall: "You told her He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is back?"
Harry Potter: "Yes."
Professor McGonagall: "Have a biscuit, Potter."
- Minerva McGonagall offering Harry Potter a Ginger Newt.
You were both right about question 2, because the biscuit out of the Tartan Tin was indeed a ginger newt.
(I just re-read this scene last week! 😂)
What I love best about Prof McGonagall's lifelong friend being Prof Sprout is that Maggie and Miriam went to the same school when they were young.
Ben can’t keep teasing us with Mistborn without giving us Cosmere content on the channel
I agree
For real!
Seriously! I heard that and paused for half a minute to regain my composure. We need them to make Cosmere Content!
The Mistborn reference at 19:26!!! Made my day! Brandon Sanderson is such an incredible author and his books are incredible!
I was so surprise when it came up!!
I gasped so loud and immediately went to the comments to find this! :D
Same!!
@@jakeleslie4934 Same!! lol
They definitely need to do Cosmere content! The 5th book is coming up, so it's the perfect time for theory videos, @SuperCarlinBrothers
Same!!!! I so hope they make Cosmere content!!! I'm obsessed!
The Carrow scene is etched in my memory forever:
Carrow spits
Harry takes off invis cloak and says "you shouldnt have done that"
Harry crucios them across the room and says "Bellatrix was right, you have to really mean it"
One of my favorite moments.
Is this the only time Crucio knocks someone back? When it's cast the rest of the time, it's incapacitating but has no force behind it. It doesn't even have force when used on a spider by Moody. It's usually portrayed more like a magical, extremely painful taser.
In the books it lifts the cursed individual off the ground. I always pictured it as Harry sort of also throwing them across the room @JordanIdk
I’m really sad that they didn’t even touch on that in the video, like it was actually a big thing
Magy Smith nailed every second as McGonagall on screen but the her best moment was in the final movie saying excitedly "I always wanted to use that spell" right before the huge battle
"Potter...It's good to see you" also gives me chills every time without fail.
Molly’s like crying worried to death for her children and Harry and then Minerva’s smiling like a giddy little girl! 😂
J, you’re getting close to being able to use your mustache as a holder for your pen! 😂😂
I'm going to be horrible and remind everyone that tabby is a coat color and not a type of cat
That always bugs me too XD
J's mustache is starting to rival Wyatt Earp and Doc Holidays (the actual people, not the movie versions but those too)
"Our podcast which is going on tour to California this September! We are coming to Seattle, Portland (...)"
Weeeeellll...... 😅😂
As a native Californian who now lives in Virginia (close to the DC tour stop, which was a fantastic show!), I cracked up laughing hearing that Seattle and Portland were in California 😂😂
Was that a Mistborn reference??? Is this a hint that we are getting Mistborn videos soon?
Please!!!! Cosmere content!!!! Especially with Stormlight 5 coming and more secret projects in the works!!!
J, here looking like he should be the main Proprietor and Owner of the local Mercantile, circa 1801. Its a good look
As a kid, It helped i saw the first movie before reading the series. Having the voices in your head from Maggie Smith and Richard Harris while you read made the experience an 11/10
@@KilllaTofu I saw the first movie before I got my hands on the books too.
Psst... They based the voices in the first film loosely from Stephen Fry's book narration version.
Listen to Vernon and Hagrid and you'll almost think Fry was reading the lines in the film or the actors were reading the book (depending on which way you first heard the characters)
Dumbledore: Away with this bauble he says calmly
Best McGonagall line was when she implied that Lockhart was a better teacher than Umbridge!😂🤣😭😭
At least he actually taught something
After that Mistborn reference, I can think of nothing else... I need Cosmere (or at least Mistborn) theories now!
Please make Cosmere content!!!
26:14 Is J's Squirrel drawing a reference to A Very Potter Musical "and i am happy as a squirell as long as I am with Mister Quirrel"? 😄
Also i love the time passing narration from Spongebob 😂
One thing I never understood about how/why McGonnagal’s and Skeeter’s markings were of their spectacles is:What if they got another pair of glasses or just weren’t wearing them when they transformed (like, maybe there was an intruder while they were sleeping)?
Rocking that stache j! 🔥🔥🔥
The way Maggie pronounces the house Is where they reside
Ascend for Gryffindor neutral for Hufflepuff ascend again for ravenclaw and descend for slytherin
I feel like giving J the "buiscuit" point is unfair tbh.
I mean, if that's unfair, then Ben shouldn't have gotten the animagus question correct since his answer was a very wrong modifier whereas J's was technically correct. If both got enforced the difference in score at the end would still be the same.
@@samuelcornett1307square and rectangular are different shapes?
It takes two seconds to google and they also said it in the video, a ginger newt IS a biscuit. so either way he was right about the answer being a biscuit he was just wrong about the specific type of biscuit in that scene.
Whether he said ginger newt or biscuit, it is still correct because it's the same thing
While she said biscuit, the book specifies that Ginger Newt is what he grabs.
Agreed
How did Kangaroo Kat not do this quiz when McGonagall transforms into a cat?
We keep getting the Mistborn references! When do we get a Cosmere theory?
The high fives alone make this worth a like
The mistborn reference! I see you Ben! When are we getting videos on the cosmere!!
Cosmere content!!!!! Please!!!!
I am LOVING the mistborn references. I would love cosmere videos someday!
RIP Maggie Smith Harry Potter fans will always remember you.
Love the Mistborn reference with having to write things in metal so Ruin can’t alter it
Maggie Smith will forever and always be this character! I love her!! She is our Queen!
Mistborn reference made. Brandon Sanderson is the GOAT of modern fantasy authors
pls what book/books are being referenced? Thank you :-)
@@mfgrocks11 It's the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. Specifically book 2, The Well of Ascension
Ben yes more mistborne refs plz
19:25 nice mistborn reference
Came here looking for this comment
Omgggg I have never been this early! ❤
You clicked so fast!
McGonfidence: 💯💯💯💯
I think "McLeod" is pronounced McCloud. At least that was how Gavin McLeod's name was pronounced in American English, it might be different in British English.
“Because Flitwick hold the iguana it’d be bigger than him!” Tyler’s background annoyance coming out 😂
Oh my gosh Quizabelle you totally peaked! You didn’t misread a single question. (And you were on point with the puns)
Great Ludo Bagman pun 🤣
J definitely shouldn’t have got a point for ginger newt! The answer is just biscuit!
Completely agree, it was supposed to be an iconic line 🙈
As the older brother he gets his way
She definitely says biscuit, but the book also specifically states that the biscuit he grabbed was a ginger newt.
RIP Dame Maggie Smith let’s raise our wands in the air
"Have a biscuit Potter" is something my daughter and I say to each other all the time.
Mistborn reference nice. I see you Ben.
pls can you tell what book that is in reference to? Thank you :-)
I disagree with the spectacles decision. "Round" was a descriptor given for one of the incorrect answers in the multiple choice.
McGonagall's animagus in the movies is an American Shorthair. When I watch Philosopher's, I make sure to make my cat watch it and tell him "Look, it's you!" 😂
Rest in peace.... sad day.
Minerva McGonagall was NEVER the type of person to give up on someone she truly loved and walk away from them to be with a Ministry person!🤢🤮 That's an insult to her character! She was in love with McGregor and he passed away so she settled for the other guy! She'd never give up and walk away from true love for some guy who was overly obsessed with a corrupt government!
Go team J
What a magnificent Minverva McGonagall quiz. Was a fun watch as always.
The luke meme was hilarious haha. Brits watching that were definitely thinking the same
Edit: also that quizabelle has really come into her own
thank you :)
Glad I could watch this.
Really sucks that I can't watch half of your videos because they're sponsored by Better Help.
You know you can just skip that part right?
Maybe Gillywater is some sort of beverage that you can drink and yet somehow still breathe at the same time
I appreciated the mistborn reference
Mistborn reference!!! You guys finally started the Cosmere books!!!! Yes!!!!!
I hope they read ALL the Cosmere books!!! So much to unpack, they would make amazing content for the Cosmere!
Rest in peace Professor/Headmistress McGonagall ❤😢 /*
does J mean “ginger nuts”? cause that’s the biscuit name here in the UK, unless ginger newts is a magic thing that I have forgotten about
Ginger newts are Wizarding World biscuits in the shape of newts
like if u predict Dougal Mcgregor is gonna bee metioned
7:19, there it is :)
RIP Maggie Smith 😢
heyyy brother
RIP Maggie Smith
6/10 :) and 3/5 Quizmaster Questions
I'm very glad I reminded myself of McGonagall's husband's name just a few days ago haha. I was like "His surname's something like Farquharson or Urquhart . . . god, I'm sure either his first or last name starts with an E . . . **looks it up**" lol. Edit: Okay, I would have gotten it from the multiple choice haha.
Also, for future reference for Izzybelle: "McLeod" is pronounced Mc-Loud; "Urquart" is difficult to explain, but it's pronounced sort of like Urk-urt :)
Grab a snack and a chair, because it’s time for J vs Ben!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
