  • Lesson 53 😁 In this lesson, we are going to study a little text about "Le pintemps - Spring".
    We are going to see :
    - Les lettres muettes / Silent letters (What not to pronounce in French)
    - Les liaisons / Links
    - Les sons / Sounds
    How to read in French can seem complicated but when you look at the details and the rules, everything makes sense! Practice your French listening skills and pronunciation rules with this lesson in less than 30 minutes.
    The translation :
    Spring is one of four seasons, just after winter and before summer. The season starts on March 30th and ends on the 30th of June. However, the dates can change depending on your region in the world. In French, we say that spring is the season of love. It’s when birds mate, flowers bloom and trees become green again.

    Excellent class! So very helpful to see the "silent letters" and "sounds" broken out, and especially seeing how your mouth, and all, form the words. Merci !

    Thanks 🙏🏾 for the lesson on French pronunciation. I was introduced to French at school at age 11. I’ve been avoiding to use French because of my bad pronunciation skills. I moved in to languages like Spanish, Italian and Greek that I read. French is widely spoken in Cameroon 🇨🇲 from where I originate.

    "Spring is one of four seasons of the year. Just after winter (like shiver) and before (summer??). This seasons starts (like commence) March 30th and (ends??) the June 30th. But the date (changes from..region and month??). In French (or France). (It's??) said that spring is the season of love...(flours)....(trees)...(green). I f you are reading and don't make de liaison lets say LES OISEAUX, is it wrong???? even if you are reading slow you HAVE to make de liaison? sometimes I get confused and I don't know exactly IF the words get a liaison or not and sometimes I don't pronounce it.

    really good exercise. but one thing puzzles me. in the case of les and des, both my dictionary and online collins french dictionary give [le] and [de] as the pronunciation. is this also the case where both ways are fine? merci ...

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  3 роки тому +1

      Correct! I should have added more about é and è because they are so many variations. Being from the north, I teach it as è. But é is fine too. When I speak with other French speakers from all around the world, I have to pay attention to see which one they use. At the end both sounds are really close so it doesn't make a huge difference ;)
