    I have seen this video before. I believe they have the best evidence pointing to the identity of Jack The Ripper that I have ever seen.

      I wonder who they think it actually is - considering all the evidence they’ve accumulated over the years.

    Still a fascinating subject I’ve been around some of the sites myself ,but got lost due to the change of buildings .I do love looking at old London . I thoroughly enjoyed that walk thank you.

      It changes so fast. I remember working out of Old Street and it was the only 2011 (yikes 13 years ago) and Mitre Square didn’t have those new buildings. Everything changes and I suppose that’s a good thing.

      I did get confused near the end. Walking around and not being able to see a distant horizon makes it easy to get disoriented.

      I've used an old entry level Nikon DSLR for 4 years now. It really suits my purposes and style. I'd like to upgrade sometime - maybe to a mirror-less NIKON but I think I'll need thousands of subscribers to fund the purchase 😉

      @@TudorSmith😂 haha! I was looking at those mirrorless ones too. I have a list and have been researching. I think I am favoring the DSLR though for the longer battery life and viewfinder….I’d love to chat more about it!

    Great video. If someday a Miss Marple special is planned, I would like to come along.

      Did Miss Marple ever investigate around London or was she only known for quaint English villages 🤣

      @@TudorSmith Both! 😜The villages are certainly great, but 3-4 hotels and a few pubs in London also had to serve as a setting.

    Tudor Smith and the Whitechapel murders? Now that was unexpected! Great stuff as always.
    Have you seen the youtube clip of James Mason visiting the house on Hanbury Street? Just type in 'James Mason the London nobody knows'

    • @TudorSmith
      @TudorSmith  3 місяці тому

      Was that an older movie where James Mason played one of the police investigators or something? I’ll have to search for it!

      @@TudorSmith No, it's from a documentary that he made about the underbelly of London - he visits the house in Hanbury Street - just a short clip but interesting to seen the conditions that still existed in the 1960's/1970's

    • @TudorSmith

      I found it and watched it (thanks for the tip). I was astonished to see that it almost look identical to 1888 which would have been 80 years!

    Since I know that you used to live in Gothenburg I guess you know that Elizabeth Stride was born in Torslanda, on the island of Hisingen outside Gothenburg. Her childhood home still exists to this day!

      @@TudorSmith There was a radio documentary about her on Swedish radio a few years ago. She grew up a farmers daughter, moved to Gothenburg and ended up as a prostitute. Then she emigrated to London to find a better life for herself, but it didn't turn out very well, as we know.

    Very informative. Here in the U.S. serial killers can be commonplace, unfortunately. None get the acclaim that the infamous Jack the Ripper got. Something that out in the open would be difficult to pull off in this day and age because of the the traffic constantly around, but who knows?

    • @Charis11457
      @Charis11457 3 місяці тому

      I beg to disagree with the thought that no US serial killer got the acclaim that Jack got. How about Charles Manson (ordered murders but committed none himself), John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, The Boston Strangler, The Son of Sam (David Berkowitz). I could go on but you get the idea. Too many, unfortunately, are famous for all the wrong reasons.

      We've had our fair share of them in this country over the years I'm sad to say. I think I'd read that forensic photography was first used in the Mary Kelly case but apart from that, getting away with it back in 1888 was obviously a lot easier than it is in modern times. That is if you discount the conspiracy theories where the culprit was known but the authorities chose not to disclose the information.

    Tudor: Hi. Hope you're doing fine. Did you ever see the movie "Jack The Ripper" starring Klaus Kinski(1976)? Not great but ok. Cheers! 🥨

    • @TudorSmith
      @TudorSmith  2 місяці тому +2

      No I’ve not seen that movie. I’ll check it out. Malcolm McDowell and David Warner were in a strange concept film where McDowell plays HG Wells and Warner plays the ripper. You guessed it, they travel forward in time and the ripper terrorises modern times with hg wells chases after him. Time After Time it was called
