India's the only country that has lions, tigers, leopards, hyenas, wolves, bears, elephants, rhinos, bison and buffalo. In other words, the best of Africa and Eurasia, in one country.
+ crocodiles( and rare gharial species )
Venomous snakes & largest snakes like pythons as well.
+ Snow leopards
Índia awesome country!
Agora tem guepardo (cheetah).
Oh my!
Red panda too
Good job India!
My beloved country Zimbabwe has the second highest population of elephants in the world. Well done our rangers

Sometimes it’s not a good thing to have this many animals. There comes with is deforestation, water shortage and increased conflict between people and elephants when they encroach into each other’s territories and consume agricultural produce and fields.
India with 1.4 Billion population is home to a great diverse wildlife population from Asiatic Elephants , Asiatic Lions , Bengal Tigers , Great Indian One Horned Rhinos , Black Bears , Sloth Bears , Leopards , Snow leopards , Clouded Leopards , Indian Bison ( Gaur), Water Buffaloes , Indian wild Dogs (Dhole) , Striped Hyenas , Caracal , Wolves & foxes , wild cats ...And recently added Cheetahs

Nepal is an ethnic, cultural, natural, and ecological museum that showcases a gigantic variety of heritage, plants, animals, people, lifestyles, and the varying topography.
With such varying specialties and uniqueness Nepal is best termed as an Amazon of Asia.Nepal has more than 900 species of birds, which accounts to 8.9% of the total species of birds all around the world. Bird as far as serbia and australia alpine region fly to nepal.

Nepali percentage of forest is most in South Asia after Bhutan
41% indias barely 30%

Ya india has the most we agree but in a huge area
Nepals a small area so the title is given to Nepal

It is gratifying and beautiful to know that there are nations that maintain large populations of the majestic ELEPHANT.

wow ma frend this is amazing 😃😃😃😃😃
What new India is biggest country
Yeah that stat about India sure is impressive. Check this one:
There are 40,000 Indians for every Indian Elephant (Asian Elephant).
There are 20 Botswanans for every Botswanan Elephant (African Elephant).
Elephants are about as common in India as they are in a place like Chad. Of course I'm sure there are particular states within India that have a higher elephant per capita basis. But generally speaking Africa has 10x the elephants that Asia has. India is the most impressive of Asia, but still falls short. South East Asia is probably underpopulated for Elephants. Hopefully numbers will improve.
Also in ancient time elephant in asia were used for war. Which i understand. Yet mughal required elphant from nepal anually. When nepal stoped supplying elephant that is when they went to war. Elphant trained in nepal were seen as much better quality than anywhere in south asia. Even british brought their elephant to nepal yet the indian elephant did not budge in comparision to terain of nepal. Elephant can not jump and navigating up and down terain of nepal is very difficult. That being said cartage used african elephant in rome so i am sure africa elephant were also trained as war elephants.
@pranavr9783 I need to check my source, but I believe the particular type of elephant (Syrian Elephant? Not sure) that was used in war was wiped out in classical times. It was not quite the same as the African elephant.
Had the opportunity to visit Kenya and Tanzania a few years ago, both for experiencing the incredible wildlife and participating in a donation program. On a separate note, I've explored the jungles of India on a couple of occasions, encountering majestic Asian elephants and a plethora of other fascinating creatures in their natural habitats. India, with its diverse landscapes and rich biodiversity, is undoubtedly one of the most alluring destinations in Asia (excluding the Maldives). Similarly, for those seeking an adventure in the heart of Africa, countries like Kenya, Tanzania, the DRC and the CAR offer an unparalleled experience on the captivating continent.
Great!

Our elephants walked down from India, when our country was a part of our big brother ****
Now with the growing population, forest cover is fast disappearing, we are faced with a huge problem, human elephants conflict.***
Yeah correct answer .i am srilankan .we are facing this problem also.growing population and Due to land clearing, the habitats of elephants have been lost. Therefore, elephant-human conflicts often occur

Srilanka surprises me / It's area 25,500 square miles & 7500 elephants ! A Srilankan friend told me their days are numbered as rheir habitations are dwindling due to Encroachment by Villagers & Politicians & wild elephant in search of fodder invade village where many are being SLAUGHTERED by Explosives where Authorities look the other way ! MY SYMPATHIES DEAR ELEPHANTS !!!!🇱🇰😥🤔😣
You are absolutely wrong as Sri Lanka’s land area is 65,610 square kilometres and it’s not that small, with hills & mountains the land area seems bigger. We had the elephant population at 100,000 in early 1900 but due to various issues, human elephant conflict, poaching during British rule, civil war(1980 to 2011), losing their natural habitat as a result of urbanization, more recently elephants are getting killed on the railway tracks etc. Sri lankans worship elephants and we don’t harm them but due to urbanization & loss of habitat, human elephant conflict has become a bigger issue because of farms & crops are being destroyed by elephants.

Considering his strategy was pikes on flat terrain, probably just an even easier target to hit than horses. Idk if they had any elephant archers though, I imagine that would have been more of a problem, especially if getting hit by arrows while getting charged and trying to hold a massive pike.

data source: Indonesian elephant conservation forum/(FKGI)
Based on the latest estimates in 2017, the Sumatran elephant population is estimated to only be 1,694 - 2,038 individuals spread across seven provinces. The limited availability of natural habitats and home ranges has resulted in a struggle for space between humans and elephants, which often results in the death of both elephants and humans. In addition, elephants are also often hunted for their ivory and skin which are of high value in the illegal wildlife trade. The decline in the Sumatran elephant population during 2011-2017 reached 700 individuals and local extinctions have occurred in more than 20 pockets of their habitat. Currently, on the island of Sumatra there are only 22 pouches of the elephant population and most of them are in critical condition.
7500 in srilanka
It’s important to have such numbers on record. It’s good that there are still some big populations of elephants, of both species.
Elephants are very beautiful and it is sobering to know how smart, sensitive and powerful animals are and how much responsibility we have as the most dominant creature on earth.
Facts:Elephants are the largest land animals in the whole world! The African Bull Male elephant stood up to be 13 ft large and tall and weighed more than 20,000 pounds! Elephants can carry 9,000 kilograms, the weight of 130 humans! Since elephants are so large, they need to eat a lot because they have to confuse predators. Elephants only need 3 hours and 18 minutes of sleeping time. Elephants wake up really early in the morning to eat so much grass and drink a lot of water, to get strong. That’s 21 hours of grazing and drinking! Because elephants are so large, adults are safe from predators. A baby elephant is bigger than an adult cheetah! They can weigh about 25,000 pounds on 13 ft large. An elephant can pick up anything from a small coin to a tall man with its trunk! They have really sharp ivory tusks that can spilt a lion and half and it’s the teeth that had its bite force to have 1200 pounds! That’s even more than a tiger and a lion. Although lions have more sleep than elephants, it’s the elephants sleeping less but eat and drink alot.
Elephants need some more sleep than animals that are smaller.

My country Zambia had more than 100,000 elephants in the 1970's. The wholesale slaughter of these beasts that took place in the 70's and 80's by poachers was truly a tragedy. All this was aided by an indifferent government that played lip service to conservation and was too busy helping with liberation struggles of neighbouring countries under white minority rule.
