Wow wow wow it’s just mind blowing how much talent went into creating these beautiful dolls, especially the beautiful art dolls 😯😯😯 thank you so much for sharing with us 🥰🥰
What a treat to see this convention through your eyes. How exciting that you met Rachel Hoffman! I wish I could have been there. Thank you so much for filming this for us. 🙏💕
Wow, I wish we could have something over here and love all the fun things you did and all the dolly’s... The T-shirts that you wear was stunning too... Have fun and keep the sparkles on... Lovies Yetta💕
Thank you so much for sharing! I have never been to a doll convention before in person, only virtually. Started collecting dolls during the pandemic and now I’m hooked! Have learned so much during that time, and was happy that I could recognise so many dolls in your video. Watching from Darwin, Australia. 🥰🌴🌴🌴
Glad that you had a great first UFDC convention. I did a workshop with Boneka one year, it was an ensemble for a 10 in doll, that was fantastic. So glad you went to the Ruby Red gathering, they make it so fun with the games and all. Fred is a hoot. I took the President's update and Taking care of business seminars too, in 2017 right before i became president of our club. Lots of info in both. The UFDC boutique looked like it was bigger this year. the room they had last year was small, and always crowded. 4 of my friends were at convention this year, and they all said they had a good time. Because of the distance they had to ship most of their purchases and souvenirs back, But I have gotten to see the convention souvenir in person now. The Carvers did a fantastic job on her. That trunk is fantastic. One of my friends went to the event on the orphan train, her doll is adorable. Who did the BJD gathering, was it Robin? I went to that gathering last year and really enjoyed it. Isn't the sales room amazing? So much to see, but not much yet as far as BJD artists. But you can really get an education on dolls though. Can't wait for Kansas City next year.
Yes, so much info at the training! I loved how every time I visited the boutique, there was always something new and/or discounted!! Dolly was really cute! So many tiny details! We’ll see about next year. It’s quite a distance for me. But it sure would be amazing to see the museum!!
Holly, this is Paula Region 1 Director of UFDC. That was an awesome video that you made. It gives people that have never been to the convention a real good taste on what goes on. The doll house in the helper room was won by Mary, my partner. She was surprised as she thought she only got the doll furniture. Lol. You are very talented and UFDC is lucky that you joined us. See you at the next event.
What a wonderful project making this video. I am making my hardbound book. Since I am part of the crew, my view of convention is very different. I loved seeing it through your eyes. I just found out that Lia is the unofficial UFDC travel doll, but I don't want to take her out of her outfit, I keep her with a previous convention doll dressed for hiking which was made by R John Wright, a felt doll. Did RRG have undressed Lia's for sale? I bought an antique Kester dressed in formal highland wear and a 1930's Lenci boy. Since I had to fly, I sent her home with an Ohio dealer, waiting for word of when I can go pick them up! I met people from Alaska who here for their 1st convention, my first was 1985 and I have been working ever since. I have chaired souvenir distribution for over 30 years and I like it when people show off what they got from ticketed events! Happy Dolling in your 'dollie hobby'! Karen
Oh wow!! Thank you for all you have done over the years to keep UFDC going and putting on conventions every year! That is so much dedication and hard work!! I actually just found out about R John Right at convention… and WOW, is his work amazing!!😍 I absolutely LOVE my Lia! She was a surprise for me, actually. I sort of decided to get her spontaneously, and am sooo happy I did!! Now the fun begins with clothing, wigs, eyes…oh my!! 😄😍 Thanks so much for watching!!
Wow! So much to see and do! Looks amazing but I’m just not that social 🙈😂 I’m a tad jealous of your Lia but happy for you. I had a small dolly meetup yesterday and got to see her in person - there were a few UFDC veterans there. I’m surprised at the variety of dolls… expected to see more antique and vintage dolls….
You know, it wasn’t as crowded as some cons I’ve seen out there. Everything was pretty spaced out so it felt pretty comfortable. How cool that you got to see Lia in person and meet some UFDC folks! I hope Ruby Red makes more of her and her accessories.
Thank you!!😀 I had it set faster for time. However, you can select a slower playback speed on the UA-cam app, which I highly recommend for the helper room. 😉
Oh What A Time In YOUR Life!~ I am so happy for you.
Thank you!❤️ It was a blast! Next year it will be in Kansas City, MO!! Which is actually the UFDC’s headquarters. Perhaps you can go!😃
I just got back from the 2024 doll convention!!! Thank you for this video. I purchased 2 ruby red galleria dolls.

What did you pay for your lia doll?
I think I paid about $160.
They had a brown haired lia in 2024. 😊
