This was beautiful. It's such a shame you could only be there for one day! Just from the glimpses you showed, it looks like you could easily spend a week or two there, just to explore and soak it all in. It looks like you could do a full day or two just perusing the local sweet shops and eateries. This confirms my philosophy of eating desert first, because you never have room afterwards. Don't want to miss out! The view from the clock tower was gorgeous. Whenever I see shots like this, I always wonder what the first viewers saw after it was built. How different were the sights and sounds of 800 years ago? Can you imagine what it would have been like back then to build something that high? Just gathering all the stone, cutting and shaping them, then starting to build something like that, lifting and hoisting each stone up into place as you go... wow. When you see places like this, you realize their sense of aesthetic back then was so much richer than ours today. A few observations/suggestions. Music choice was very good, just a bit too loud compared to your voice. You tend to speak softly, but the volume of your voice at the end of the video was perfect. Bring the music level down to match and you have a winner volume-wise. The beginning of the video where you were showing a montage of different scenes; they were really beautiful and I kept wanting more viewing time for each one. Maybe add a couple more seconds per shot so the viewer can appreciate them? I know I can pause the video, but the visual flow along with the music is so much nicer. With each video you're getting better and better at it. Now... with your lovely speaking voice, just begin adding some narration of the history/story of the places and things you're showing! You could easily be a traveling historian/storyteller.
Yegads, that clock tower! I would be afraid my back would cramp up and I'd be stuck halfway up or down. Makes me woozy thinking about it. I would never leave those chocolate stores. The church is stunning! How I wish I could draw/paint. I would want to capture it. Why, oh, why, don't we build churches like this anymore? Oh, everything was SO beautiful! What lovely memories to treasure always. Thanks for sharing!
Right out of a fairytale! My friend did one of those bell tower climbs in Vienna, I think and the climb up was bad but I can only imagine going down was terrible due to the tendency to misstep. She pretty much said “never again”, haha. You really captured the experience well both for the feel and the accompanying score. Magical!
Omg those chocolates look so GOOD! 😍 I remember growing up watching Willy Wonka (the good one.... with Gene Wilder) and one of my favorite bits being the opening credits with that montage of chocolate in all its glorious forms.... 🤤 Having had Belgium chocolate, I can attest to the fact that most American chocolate simply does not compare. I'm so glad you guys got more of a chill day. Paris is gonna be a RUSH.... so a little breathing is a good thing. 😊

The cobblestone and horse and carriage is a wonderful sound.
Welcome to Belgium!
