Regarding stretching, both Arnold and Lee Haney frequently insisted on stretching in this manner between sets on lat exercises and suggested that it "added length" and prevented the development of "high lats." There may be some truth to this. Because each stretch goes for up to thirty seconds and consists of a series of small but strong tugs, and since it is typically done following a set of chins, this may be consistent with how one might induce hyperplasia in the lats. Notice also that in pictures/videos of them doing the stretch, the angle between the arm and torso is quite high, and the leg/hip on the same side as the stretched arm is pushing in the opposite direction to the stretch. This would further increase the stretch and when it is done a stretch can be felt where the lats attach to the lower spine (illiac crest). Stimulating more fibres in this area could then plausibly add to lat length.
MTM back workout: Wide grip chins (1 warm up set 5 reps--------5 sets of failure) Close grip lat pulldowns (1 warm up set--------5 working sets/ behind the neck variation) T bar rows ( 2 warm up sets ----4 working sets) Seated cable row ( 1 warm up set -------5 working sets) Seated machine row (same as the last one) Use full range of motion and go to failure on every last set
love the video, but i have some quick questions: how do you guys periodize your workouts? how long are the periods? and what would you recommend for an intermediate lifter with goals of gaining 30 kg?
It seems you guys prefer to work up in weight on an exercise over 4-5 sets? So only the last one is to failure? Or are those pyramid sets seen as work sets? Thanks!
tbh the whole concept of bringing back the 70s and 80s vibe of fun in the gym definitely gave me a much needed motivation. keep going you guys!

I would just do 2warm up sets and then start with the heaviest weight
