  • The Jungle Book Reaction is today's video!
Hey everyone! Join me as I Watch The Jungle Book Again after not seeing it since I was a child! This Movie still holds up and is amazing to experience all over again! From the songs to the story, The Jungle Book is still one of my absolute favorite Movies to watch!
In this classic Walt Disney animation based on Rudyard Kipling's book, Mowgli, an abandoned child raised by wolves, has his peaceful existence threatened by the return of the man-eating tiger Shere Khan (George Sanders). Facing certain death, Mowgli must overcome his reluctance to leave his wolf family and return to the "man village." But he is not alone on his quest: Aided by Bagheera the panther, and later by the carefree bear Balloo (Phil Harris), he braves the jungle's many perils.

As a kid i also cried when i thought baloo was dead, like i always saw him as an adorable fun loving bear, so seeing sherr khan "killing" him was shocking to me, and shere khan honestly gave me the creeps but he still ended up as one of my favorite disney villains.
Also quick fact, the jungle book was Walt's final movie he worked on before he passed away.

Sterling Holloway (the man who voices Kaa) is in fact the original voice of Disney's Winnie the Pooh along with a massive assortment of Disney character all the way back to Mr. Stork from 1941's Dumbo.
After Sterling's passing in 1992, the majority of the roles he had played were passed down to Jim Cummings (who is the current voice of Winnie the Pooh...and Tigger, too, being fully granted the role in 1999 after working as Tigger's singing voice alongside the original Tigger Paul Winchell for 10 years).
Jim Cummings also took over the King Louie voice from singer Louis Prima.

Other roles he played included Alice In Wonderland's Cheshire Cat and The Aristocats' Roquefort (the mouse if you don't remember). According to the Disney Wiki, he narrated a lot of the shorts during the package era, and he also voiced the adult version of Flower in Bambi (there wasn't exactly much for Flower to do, which is why I overlooked it).

Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book is a fun, musical, animated film that I enjoy from time to time. Each of the characters are really good. Both Baloo and Shere Khan are my favorites and I Wanna Be Like You is the best song in my opinion. For a late 1960s animated film, this one still holds up today. Thanks for the classic Disney nostalgia, Cody!

3 Things to Know about Kaa:
1-Yes he is voiced by the same person who voiced Winnie the Pooh.
2-In the original story Kaa was one of Mowgli's wisest friends and allies, even being the one who saved him from the monkies.
3-To everyone's surprise, and horror, Kaa has actually cemented himself as one of the most popular fetish characters on the internet, even starting hypnotizing and coiling fanart. So there's that to dwell on.

This and Disney's 'Robin Hood' are my favorite of the old classics. Before VCRs, we used to go to the public library for screenings of Disney films (and Marx Bros. films, which I highly recommend - start with 'Duck Soup!'). We also checked out the audio of 'Jungle Book' from the library on a set of big 33 1/3 record albums. Good memories.
Have you ever seen an animated movie called 'Watership Down?' It's a classic about a group of wild rabbits trying to find a new home after their old one was destroyed by men. Very exciting and compelling, even a little scary in places. It even explains the rabbits' own vocabulary and highly-developed theology. Good for a reaction.

He's well known for playing the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, I'm not sure which one, the mouse from The Aristocats, and the stork from Dumbo. But if anything I'm pretty sure everyone might remember some better on the vintage version of The Twilight Zone, as either the electrician or the Cable Guy.

I read on Internet that all the characters names are their indian translation (except for Shere Khan who means " King of tigers ").
I'm a little sad because two years ago, I learnt the death of Roger Carel, Kaa's french voice actor and the fact he was also the french voice of a lot of the characters of my Disney childhood movies (Winnie the pooh, Coco Rabbit, Piglet, the Cheshire Cat, Sir Hiss, Roquefort and Lafayette, Bernard of " The Rescuers " and a lot more).
You know, in France there was a real Mowgli. He was called " Victor de l'Aveyron ".

Some animation have been recycled from earlier films and shorts. The wolf pups that stands on their hind legs and wag their tails is from 101 Dalmatians where some of the pups do the same, the young adult wolves that pounce and licks Mowgli is from The Sword in The Stone where Ector's hounds pounce and licks Wart, the elephants crash and push into each other is from the short Goliath II, Bagheera hitting his head on the log after falling into the river (while the animation isn't directly copied, it was used as a template or as a reference for this) is from Snow White where Grumpy falls into the brook and hits head on the bridge after recieving a kiss from Snow White and the whole sequence where Baloo and Bagheera and King Louie and his monkeys keep snatches Mowgli from one another is copied frame by frame of Mr. Toad, Angus McBadger, Ratty and Moley and Mr. Winkle and the weasels attempts to snatch the deed from one another. Bambi's mom makes a cameo as the deer that Shere Khan is about to prey upon but runs away when she hears The Jungle Patrol coming. While not animation, the laugh for King Louie makes when Baloo tickles him while holding up the pillar, is from Song of the South when Br'er Rabbit laughs like maniac when tricking Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear to look for their laughing place (in order to escape his fate being roasted on a spit by them).
Some of the animations from this movie was recycled in Robin Hood, like Sir Hiss hypnotizes Prince John in order to get rid of his psychosis of sucking on his thumb, obviously Kaa doing this to Mowgli and Bagheera, the elephant that trumpet but gets his trunk gaged by Lady Cluck, which Cononel Hathi does to one of his men when he trumpets too early and Little John and Lady Kluck's dance is mostly compied by Baloo and King Louie's dance. Also Little John and Baloo have similiar body types and ways of move and both are voiced by Phil Harris.

This was the last movie to have Walt Disney's personal touch. He was the one who thought of the idea of the girl being mowgli's decision to go to the manvillage willingly. The ending were Baloo and bagera have that little dance was actually done as a tribute to Walt who died before this movie was finished. If only he lived a little bit longer to see the beginning of Disney Renaissance.

  • @erendiramunoz831
    @erendiramunoz831 2 роки тому +3

The main reason of why Mowgli doesn't struggle with the weather in the jungle is because most feral kids develop some kind of numbness against cold or hot temperatures, and also some become hairy or develop a thick skin as a way to protect themselves against the environment. Once they get back to civilization they slowly regain sensibility towards temperature and stop outgrowing extra hair or skin. Unfortunately most of these kids (or in the worst cases adults) can't cope with civilization and die in a few years or those that achieved getting used to civilization lack or have very little social skills and don't develop spoken language, perhaps some gestures or basic words in the best scenario, they end needing special care, of course this depends if the child spent all his life with animals/wilderness or just a certain period of time and/or if the child had little or none human contact at some point of his life. I hope I don't offend anyybody with this, but even though the cases of humans raised by animals are rare, they exist though and is not like fantasy or myth.

(At 5:35) The sad part is, the rock python Kaa was basically the wisest and oldest creature in the jungle and somewhat friendly and only threatening to the monkeys that were very violent and mischievous. The only problem with this Kaa was… Walt Disney just *had* to make an ass out of him, before he died.

Attribute that to folklores like the 🐍of Adam and Eve, who always framed said reptile as a villainous being for Western audiances.
Besides, it's far more easy to distinguish Baloo, Bagheera and Kaa, all allies of Mowgli in Kiplings work, with different roles and personality traits in an adaptation targeted mostly for children.

Originally, the vutures were meant to be voiced by The Beatles but their manager rejected Disney's request. Because of the That's What Friends Are For turned from a rock and roll tune to a barbershop song. The intention of the vultures being played by Paul McCarthy, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison is the reason why they have the mop tops of The Beatles, though at this time, they changed their hairstyles they started using on the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, so it was a good thing they didn't get The Beatles as the vultures.

It’s a lot darker, with a more detailed story, which is actually why Walt Disney chose to disregard it in favor of doing his own thing. Especially with the idea of taking him to a man village that will educate him to be a potential threat to the animals of the woods.

9:52 fun fact: Disney was going through big financial troubles at the time after Walt Disney himself passed away so they had to reuse animation techniques to save money.

“This is why I gotta watch the second one”. Oh, please do a reaction to the second one! I don’t care what anybody says, I thought The Jungle Book 2 was a pretty good sequel. Sure it’s a bit cheesy at times but for the most part, good movie
