    After watching multiple of these videos and having no idea how you were keeping track of which bobbin to hold which, I think I finally get it. You are looking at the *thread* not the bobbins, and so that naturally informs you where you need to hold to make the next twist or knot. It’s kind of like braiding from what I can see, but on a masterful and extreme level. I’m very impressed by this artform!

    I have wanted to learn this craft ever since the first time I saw it being practiced in the early 1980’s. There were a few very old ladies living in the area where I grew up who’s work was on display at the local library. We were bused over from the elementary school one day to see them demonstrate how it was made. I never forget that day.

    • @mialemon6186
      @mialemon6186 2 місяці тому

      Forewarning: I’m a complete beginner trying to answer. I can make like 1 kind of bookmark 😂😂😂.
      At the end (or once you get far enough down the pattern) you can just take the pins out as needed.
      They hold shape and tension while you keep working but once you’re far enough away from those points, it is secure and holds itself.
      I leave all the edge pins in until I’m done, but the ones in the middle migrate down as I work. 😂

  • @pennycandyys
