If you like Stugs you might check out the book Stug Brigade 191: The Buffalo Brigade. It has a lot of detailed combat narratives. One thing that you will see is that the short-barreled stugs routinely killed all sorts of tanks with their guns using AP/HE that shouldn't be possible just looking at the stats. Also they had a very very limited number of HEAT rounds.
From my experience in war thunder (not very realistic, but still works) , against t34's frontally aim for the turret , you might pen at very close ranges (AP on the short barrel stug has around 50mm of pen at point blank range , turret has around 45mm of armour) , the gun recuperator and the turret ring being the preffered target. Also since this game does not have the funky wt physics , aiming at the hull mg port might actually be a penetrating hit at bit longer ranges than expected as it's not as heavily armoured If the game simulates partial penetrations and/or armour fatigue you might even be able to do some good damage
From what I’ve read from the many memoirs I’ve come across over the years, and what I’ve observed from many rank games over the years, really you ought to shoot at the turret if possible. Even if you don’t penetrate you’ll stun the crew. You have a good chance to damage very important component. If you hit the gun mantlet you’ll more than likely disable the gun as a whole. If you hit the ring you’ll probably penetrate. If not you’ll cripple the turret traverse The hull was the easiest to hit apparently, but consequently that’s the most well armored place on all tanks. And T-34’s, and all Russian tanks really, have such piss poor visibility and performance all around that you ought to just stay hidden until you get a very favorable shot if possible. A tank gunner in a Pz III with the short barreled 50mm said his commander had them wait until the t-34 had passed them and was showing its ass. They hit the engine and shit the side of the turret knocking it out while setting it on fire. They had to run away when a KV2 showed up however 😅 Another gunner, this time from a flak cannon crew, said they could just shoot when they had a good shot regardless of distance. Well not 1-2 kilometers out, but if they had a good shot they could take it. It all came down to the caliber of the gun. And duh that’s obvious 😂 But it seemed that disabling the turret made it combat ineffective. The turret has the most components you can’t necessarily protect very well like the turret ring or the gun mantlet If you’re truly lucky you could whack the commander by hitting the cupola, but unlike in warthunder that actually isn’t a sure fire way to get a kill. There was a Tiger 1 that got blasted severely in the Russian steppes. It was hit in the cupola many times from both t-34’s, t-26’s and AT rifles. It destroyed the cupola and it literally knocked out the commander for a moment, but nobody died. They had to retreat because the turret ring was heavily damaged and the hydraulics as well were shot and leaking They couldn’t turn the gun. But the tank took the full brunt of a tank company and a AT squad and was able to leave the battlefield under its own power The tiger tank was too complicated to name one of its flaws, but oh boy it shines bright when it’s in a favorable position To get to the point, I’d say I Italy hold fire. Wait until you have them up shit’s creek without a paddle. Truly in the open, unprotected If you have the luxury do some range finding prior and create a kill zone. That was very effectively used by the Germans in WW2. Famously a PAK cannon did this and knocked out 3 Sherman’s immediately after they created a ridge in France 1944 (or was it 45 I forget) But if the battle is already raging you can’t necessarily do that now can you 😂 I’d aim for the turret. If you can disable it it’s one less tank to worry about.
Great to see you highlight one of the best ww2 tank simulators Tonci87. It ranks up there with the best for sure, now if Andrey from Graviteam were to use Mius Front as a basis for a new tank sim, then in my opinion that would surely be a slam dunk! Tank Crew for me wears the current modern ww2 tank sim crown, it is better in every way with the exception of infantry which is TC biggest let down :) I would love you check it out at some point.
Yes! I love this game (even though it just does not seem to run properly on my PC) and for its age, it really is one of the best out there! I wish it had the Red Orchestra 2 tank interior animations too, then it would probably be the best tank game in history!
If you like tank sims, you may want to try Steel Beasts. It's more modern/Cold War tank combat, but it's a great tank sim. It's also a bit pricey, but if you put the time in, can be worth it.
you didn't try to maneuver out of the way of that last tank, you chose to keep targeting the Front rather than going for all those wheels on the side seems odd
Would love a series with this game!!
I love your videos so much especially when you play steel Fury keep play the game
That's intense. I have this but never got into it. It clearly deserves another look.
this series I'm so excited for it its so good :D
Would love to see more of this ,maybe a series? 😉 the battlefield autopsies of the wrecks is brilliant 🫡

Yes, the game says no though so that won’t help:)
Thanks for the book tip o7

Haven't seen this game in a long time.
I bought this game long time ago, sadly I play with inverted mouse and the option does not work. I wish I could play this game.

seems odd
It was pretty expected.
The most produced tank and Chassis by Germany during World War II.
The Panzerjager I was fitted with a Czech 47mm anti-tank gun so that would be what destroyed the T-34s engine.
It's better using AI targeting. User can correct the shot.
