man I wished this was the song used on the anime, its what I imagined being played when I read the manga. It would help build more parallels between the croc vs luffy and this fight that they already have: both are the first big fights luffy has after entering the grand line, both against a shishibukai, both are against someone with mastery of their DF, both ended on a new and most powerful attack luffy had at the moment.
Exactly! I felt that Crocodille and Doflamingo had a devil/god parallel. Crocodille (the devil) dragged out of his hiding in the shadows, out for everyone to see. Doflamingo (god) getting knocked down from heaven. Now a fallen god/angel.
How it was MEANT TO BE! 10/10! I hated how they turned this 1 hit KO into a power struggle to pad out time, something that is happening a ton in the anime lately. The same thing happened in Caesar Clown's fight, theres no way he had the strength to stop Luffy's attack but they made it into a power struggle there too. The only time it was cool was with Megellan.

Well, good thing Rimuru likes one hit kills and absolutely overpowering his oponents the same way. Remember Clayman? Yea, nothing was ever that onesided in anime history (Safe Vegetto vs Boo that is, but that dude just plain is in a different power category than anything else so it was obvious). Even the most powerfull foe he faced till date, wich was the paladin, was rather onesided to begin with, thus they didnt need to drag it out (anime version that is, manga he obviously is unbeatable at his current state(God Level)
I like the touch of adding the music that played during Crocodile's defeat. It really draws a parallel between the two. I like to think it shows how far Luffy has come, with Crocodile he was knocking him upwards but with Doffy he was above him knocking him hack down, like he was literally on a different level. Luffy obv needed help but it shows he can tangle with warlords just fine now
So the manga is again different than the anime? br... by the sound of it the manga is again better (Like for ANYTHING realy... DBS, Slime, Kumo and now OP...)

The best part of this is rosinante saying they’re sworn enemy of the gods. Something always just clicked in my mind when that happened then showing luffy still holding his follow through in the air is so dope
Maybe it's just me but I would have love that the effect and music would have synched the same as in the Crocodile fight. What I mean is for the sound at the moment of the impact to be the same part from the 9th symphony and then slowmo from the inpact with the threads till it reaches Doflamingo's face just like when Luffy's fists crushed Crocodile's La Espada and then it was a slowmo from then till it actually hit his face... that would be amazing.
I see what you are saying. Maybe I should have cut more of the still frames to make the music match up at a different place. But regarding the slowmo thing, that would have been a bit more difficult to make work, given that this is an instant K.O. and the Crocodile one was a barrage attack. But thanks for the feedback!
Just finished reading this fight in the manga; haven't watched the anime at all but to hear that this was padded out in the anime is so disappointing...which is why I really appreciate that you did justice to the original scene with a real deal OHKO :)

Personally, I didn’t read the manga nor knew it was padded out, so when I watched the episode, I liked it, it felt great to me, and I liked the power struggle. I understand why some people might be upset, but how come they don’t understand that anime and manga aren’t the same? Not everything will be adapted accurately, and they may add some changes. Of course, I understand that reading the manga may affect your views on the episode rather than watching the episode without manga knowledge
There’s a smoother cut like this on one pace, thank god they managed to edit out all the padding and filler. You know it’s bad when they managed to edit it down to just 48 episodes.

its epic how both crocodile and doflamingo that luffy defeated have their own agenda on their respective countries. Both arc have princess that join the bad pirates' crew. Have both of luffy's brothers and how luffy defeated them. Crocodile from below the ground flew up into the sky while doflamingo from the sky getting knocked out under the ground.

I have actually been thinking of going back and doing a re-edit of this video to cut out a lot of the unnecesary still frames that I left in, along with fixing some of the transitions and audio issues. Law has to have had one of the strongest power ups along side kid I've ever seen,from here to wano law got strong enough to go toe to toe with yonkos after getting bodied by doflamingo
I kinda like how the anime did it, like everyone shouting and everything, really added emotion to the scene, but I think it could be better also, by making it a bit faster paced and not all the struggle luffy had.
As much as I love it myself, I think that that would take away some of its magic. It might get repetitive after a while. Too much of a good thing can undermine it. But I love your enthusiasm about the song!
SPOILERS FOR ANYONE NOT CAUGHT UP TO MANGA CH. 1060 Lulusia, the island that Sabo was on, got hit with 16 beams of light which caused the giant explosion. This attack was ordered by Im, who's above the Celestial Dragons and even the Gorosei, basically a god of the OP world. Doflamingo's final attack here was 16 Holy Bullets. He'd also threatened to reveal the "National treasure" of the World Government. Could be a coincidence, but I'm starting to think that Doflamingo knew about the weapon that wiped out Lulusia with the parallels of the weapon and his attack name, the wording of his attack, and knowledge of the treasure apparently being such a huge bargaining chip that he could effectively bully the World Government into helping him. Also, the thing that destroyed the island is most likely the ancient weapon Uranus given that it's an airborne weapon of some kind and Uranus was the Titan who was lord of the sky.

Gear 5 is more devastating with less effort, he no longer needs to do armament haki with all this blowing into his muscles and stuff, as it just "happens" naturally, Gear 4 is the peak of his efforts to enhance himself, and Gear 5 is without any effort at all, he just "is".
The anime ruined this fight so bad. It's actually a fucking shame. Anime watchers don't understand how powerful and impactful Luffy's attack really was. Pre time-skip did a better job showing impact.

This is what I wanted! I had to start reading the manga because Dresrossa has so much filler. Zoro and Pica was cool in the anime but they ruined this fight.
Hahahaha. At the time, I was usually caught up on both the manga and anime, but yeah, the Dressrosa arc made me mostly drop the anime due to the pacing, except for very big moments.
