Sorry for the late response on this. It's directly on top of the air intake tube behind the filter. It has an electrical connector going to it and is secured by a screw or two.
I’m having a misfire on #1 as well. I decided to change all the plugs but still had a misfire on 1. I’m about to put a new coil on 1. Last year I changed #3. The biggest issue I had was #5 plug. I couldn’t get it to break loose. Then the socket decided it wanted to stay attached. Finally got the socket out of 5 and said forget it. Hoping I can find someone to do 5&6.
@@dieselpackgarage8796thanks. That’s the least of f my worries now. I changed the #1 plug and coil. The plug was dripping in oil. On a good note, it doesn’t misfire any longer. For now.
I actually had that exact same situation. On my most recent coil change. I was not sure how long it took to get that much oil so I just cleaned it out well with paper towels and figured I'll monitor how fast it fills back up... Although I haven't checked on it in awhile and probably should.
I ordered it from ebay, been working great. www.ebay.com/itm/252432283111?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=TWiftKJOQyS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=QSfC7LfZS0G&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@jamiehammerstrom8751 I have the blue 6.0 that isn't running listed. Additionally I have a gasser f250 with high miles (349k), and a Ford ranger for sale. All on fb marketplace.
The car also has a code for secondary air injection pump failure. But I don't have emissions in my area, so I haven't bothered to fix it. But as a result the CEL is constantly on.
@@snap1entertainment I'd recommend swapping the coil with another cylinder and making sure the misfire follows it. That way you can confirm the coil is bad and it's not something else like a sparkplug or the wiring. Quick and easy way to make sure you're not wasting money on the wrong part.
Thank you! The 05 lives another day!
Glad to hear it!!

Mines just started misfiring what tools do you need to change the coils
Honestly at this point I don't totally remember. I think a 10mm, flat head screwdriver, and an extension.

Sheesh that does not sound fun. You could try tightening it slightly then backing it out, might help that bolt pop loose.

So mine is misfiring on #3 think I should just replace the coil?
