Chevy Trailblazer Oil Change - My Last One Ever
Join me as we change the oil one last time on my 2005 Chevy trailblazer. As you can tell in this video I had no idea at the time of filming that this would be the last oil change I ever did on my trailblazer. Let's just say that the departure was rather... rapid. Be sure to subscribe in order to see a video coming soon about what happened.

The horn on my GM truck has been intermittently working and I decided today would be a good day to dig into it. Thankfully I found the issue after causing some more issues, and have a working horn at the end of it. 2007 GMC Sierra 2500hd classic lbz Like and Subscribe!! music:bensound.com

Join me as I run up there for a VERY long day of getting a 24 ft trailer and 100CFM Ingersoll Rand air compressor and then pulling them back home. It was a fun day for sure! how much did the truck sell for??? I'm just curious.
I am trying to remember and for some reason having no luck with it. I want to say that I sold that truck for around 1700 because I got tired of it sitting.
Thank you! This helped me out! 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad it got you back on the road!
See MAYO3LT FOR WHATS REALLY GOING ON WITH THIS !!!!!!
I have an 02 Envoy and the previous owner sealed it (its barely open upwards a hair) with silicone and it's now leaking so until I can repair the whole assembly which I want to do, but admit I am getting pro estimates too, and I want to THANK YOU for mentioning the SUNROOF DOCTOR cause I went and found the whole kit minus a motor which I found a couple on ebay with a warranty. I am nervous but gunna order the whole kit for $109 and the motor for another $89 and do this. I think my already sagging slightly headliner near the sunroof and disassembling it is what I am more worried about somehow (Any tips on fixing a sagging sunroof like it looks yours was too would be appreciated cause I am bad OCD bout restoring my Envoy) Thanks for the trip, I learned a lot and gained some confidence on my normal DIY nature lol. Sorry to hear about the wreck but glad she is ok, Thanks from Texas!
Thanks for this! Any chance you could verify the width distance between posts when lift is raised? I'm looking to park a trailer underneath, their manual says 105" but their online support says its 99" (my trailer is 102").
Just had my dad verify. His response was "Mine from the posts (squeeze out a couple inches by driving over the plate) is 99.5 inches apart. If have room, turn lift sideways and get a lot more :)" So unfortunately this won't fit a 102" trailer underneath the lift straight on.
pretty good video. very informative and with reference material to boot!😛😛
I appreciate that, thanks for watching!
I have the maintenance manual
I found some of them online, but I think I'm still missing a few pieces
That generator has a safety cut off switch
Ended up finding out a lot more about it later on. I was certainly fighting through my ignorance in the video haha
Nice Repair, about to do the same exact one, only wish you would have mentioned which size fittings you're using to match the OEM because that's what I was watching to find out. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind for future videos!!
Good job A dealer told me those caps were Vent tubes
Thank you!!
What is the cross bar that you unbolted and is it necessary, mine is broken in half and I'm thinking it's what's stopping my roof from sliding back
I think it helps avoid flex of the whole unit. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I suspect that with it broken/removed the unit is more likely for the sunroof to jump off track.
I seem to be only able to get half the loop video as I did compared to when I first got it
Just to make sure I understand... When you first got the camera it would record for 8 hours before overwriting and now it's 4 hours? Obviously the time is just an example but if that's what you mean it likely has a lot of locked videos. If the camera detects something it considers an impact it will "lock" the clip so it doesn't get overwritten. You can check the locked videos and if that's the case delete them and then lower the sensitivity to trigger the lock feature. I lowered mine bc there were a few bumps on roads I drove daily that would lock clips. Over time that can add up and then lead to a bunch of your storage getting eaten up.
I live where it’s 100+ degrees 6 months out of the year. Is it the heat going to be too much? I have to point one of my AC vents towards my phone when I’ve got it on the dash mount so it doesn’t over heat. How do I know if this will survive the summers in southern AZ? Drivers are crazy, I really want to be able to have a dash cam and this price point was amazing.
I'm in the DC region, so do not deal with nearly that kind of temps. While I cannot say from personal experience it does look like the Amazon listing says it can work from -40℉ to 185℉. You'd likely know more about temps within a car in your area than I would. Sorry I can't be of more help!!
Bro! This is amazing. Thank you.
Happy to help!!
M1097R1 is an old M998 that has been "Recapitalized" by an Army Depot, probably Red River (RRAD).
Yep!! I found out a lot more info after the fact. Part of the process is learn as I go. I appreciate the comment!!
I got one of these i just think its useless yh it might record your journey but if you wanna listen to music from your phone through bluetooth it wont and will not work because you have to have a stable wifi connection. As soon as you try play music through 5g it turns off the wifi and stops recording so its either one or the other listen to music or record your journey. I think this is the biggest floor with these wifi dashcam systems
This is totally different from my experience. I only connect to the cameras wifi in order to adjust settings or download video (which has been a handful of times). Aside from that I never have my phone connected to the dashcam. I had no issue using anything like android auto in the head unit or Bluetooth dongle that runs to the faux cord for the radio. I never had an issue where the dashcam stopped recording for me.
THANK YOU!! I just got stuck in a mall parking lot and panicked when this happened at 11 pm. Unlike another video this showed precisely where the linkage was and the easy common sense emergency fix. FANTASTIC TO SHOW HOW TO MOVE THE DASH LEVER INTO PARK FIRST! Even without the bushing there's a little snap just putting it back together. Took literally one minute to fix. Worked well enough for me to drive around for 2 days and then drive back home 250 miles away.
I'm glad this helped get you back on the road!!
Nicely done, was thinking about getting the similar lift, but still have to play with location. Garage door I have is a 10x10 opening which makes the bay a 12x24. I’m not sure if I would have any walk around room in this bar or not. Ideally it would be for storage and oil changes. Do you feel this may fit or should I think about the larger garage portion? Thanks for your feed back. Awe, after a year is it still worth it?
Sorry for the delay in this. Had to check with my dad and get measurements to try to best answer your question. My dad's garage is 22' wide. Lift sits on one side (split 22' in half to get 11') and he says he has room to get down the wall side Of his lift as well as through the center . So he thinks 12' wide would be fine. The lift's front post is 18" off the front wall to allow for roll up door. Back post is 208" from front wall. Lift is 122"x194" So you should be fine for room. Having about 5 feet behind lift if you put an 18" buffer at the front for your door.
Do you have to press the on button everytime you get in the car for the camera to work ?
Nope, as long as the cigarette lighter turns on/off with your vehicle then it starts recording as soon as you start the vehicle.
Thank you for this. I found two other videos that showed how to fix this, but didn't show where the thing was located. After seeing your video, I found it immediately, and confirmed that this is my problem. Now I'm off to the auto parts store for the bushing.
I'm so glad this helped you!! Hopefully your vehicle will be back on the road without too much fuss!!
Thanks, from Monterrey México!
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!!
Yo thank you for this!
Happy to help!!
too much nonsence talking, came to watch how to set up.............
I thaugnt i was the only one 😭
😂 Always improving 🤷
RTFM. LOL
Thank you for recording your adventure. I'm looking at doing the same job at the same location, so this video was perfect. I recommend investing in a cheap seal driver in case you need to replace the seals in the other hubs. It'll save you a lot of time in skipping the heating and freezing.
Thanks for the recommendation!! I'll take a look and see what deals I can find on one. It certainly sounds like a took I should invest in.
Stop talking and more working
Aye aye captain 😂
Any 12v car battery that tested out at 9 volts or less, is junk.
That makes sense since that would indicate at least 1 of the 4 cells is not holding. Unless I'm totally wrong here, which is quite possible.
Yeah I do all my own work as a diesel mechanic run diag on it cylinder number four misfire oh boy looks like coil time it’s my truck so I’ll change them all to be on safe side
I agree that changing them all out can be good to make sure you hopefully don't have to go back in there again for the next one in a few weeks.
Great video; really helped
Glad it helped!!
hi where did you get the pump ? Dealer says it 380 dollars
I got it off ebay for under $40. It looks like the one I bought is no longer available, but it was just a new Holland hand primer pump that looked the same.
@@dieselpackgarage8796Thanks for responding. Do you know where the fuel pump is on the skidsteer . A mechanic said it should be right by the filters. I cantfind it anywhere on line
It always splashes oil out of the drain pan, no matter what pan you use.
I have this same issue but my second key doesn't work.
Unfortunately when I was researching online it seemed like the large majority of cases were due to that receiver I purchased failing. I just got lucky in my case.
how can you lock footage manually? without the g force sensor? is it only possible through the app or can you program the buttons to do that?
Unfortunately I sold this truck so I can't go check, but I want to say it's only doable through the app. I can't find anything conclusive online about the buttons... To me it just being in the app wasn't a huge deal bc I just tossed a larger sd card in the camera and then I could go back at my convenience to lock it without worrying about it getting overwritten too quick.
That's not a oil pressure sensor in your hand. That's an oil pressure switch. The y are different in design and part number
Interesting. I just read back through my order history and it seems to be called "12635957 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Switch for CHEVROLET For BUICK CADILLAC GMC" so you would be correct. And it does function differently, but thankfully it did fix the issue haha. Thank you for calling this out!!
Why is it always the same solder joint? Did the guy in the factory have a bad day everyday? 4:00
Honestly that's a great question, maybe it gets more heat or is along a spot that flexes. But it seems to be a very common fail point.
Youre coolant coming out is green ..thats crazy ..its supposed to be pink
Yea, I believe before it came into my ownership it was swapped over to universal.
😂😂😂my rivet gun probably still in the car😂😂😂
It be like that sometimes 😂 🤣
Suggestions: #1 - Always put blocks behind your rear wheels and use your parking brake to assure teh car won't roll then fall atop you #2 - Always put a large piece of cardboard under the car when doing oil changes, keeps most of the mess from getting on the driveway #3 - Have all your tools ready and reachable underneath - 10mm socket to remove the under shiled piece, 14mmm for drain plug, socket and oil filter wrench adapter (special tool needed for this car). I also keep either a few paper towels and/or shop rag underneath to wipe drips, tools, or parts when working down there #4 - He failed to mention lubing the new filters red rubber oil ring with fresh oil so it does not stick when assmebling - very imporant! Also wipe down the drain plug well before reinstalling #5 - After installing new filter and returning drain plug DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the drain plug, it shold only be lightly snugged, no need to overtighten oil filter either #6 - wipte everything down with brake cleaner, Simple Green, or other cleaner around drain plug and engine before replacing the bottom shield #7 - I put a piece of blue painters tape on the engine cover with the oil and filter change date/mileage so it is easily seen and I log mine into an Excel file I have for all vehicles on my computer Too much left out of this video to be considered a comprehensive DIY tool.
All very good points. Thank you for taking the time to contribute!
That's what was wrong with mine I had code p2119
Glad it worked!!
Youa re awesome!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you, glad it helped!!
Did you sell this one ? Running good?
Have not sold it yet. It does run pretty well. I just do fired if either use it as parts or sell it, whatever happens first haha
@dieselpackgarage8796 cool beans. How much are they going for from auctions up there?
The unit is 400hz only be careful with what you attempt to run off it it will fry your electronics. The 400 hz is for aviation purposes mainly
The battle short switch apparently is intended to bypass all safety features and make the generator run until it destroys itself. In other words if you have low oil pressure or other conditions that are preventing it from operating normally and safely in a life and death situation you can use the battle short to get the generator to continue to operate until it stops operating from melting down or destroying itself.
Thanks for the clarification!! My buddy said that, but I don't think it made it into any videos. I appreciate the insight!!
@@dieselpackgarage8796 it was one of those "mystery" features that I wanted to know the use of so I researched it. The generator won't start if that switch is on, which you discovered. It only works when the generator is already running.
Camotek systems start box. You’re gonna need it
I'll look into it, thanks!!
You didn't use the plastic sheet? I guess it's supposed to make removing the camera from your windshield easier 🤷♂️
Yep, tbags one up side to using it. It's an electrostatic sheet, so overall if the camera fries itself I can only blame myself 😂 🤣
Anyone know if the sunroof assembly for the 05 Blazer is the same one used in the 04 Tahoe? Thanks!
Unfortunately I am not sure of that, sorry!!
wrong batteries dude. Go to NAPA they have the right batteries
Do you have the part number by chance? These were just the ones I found by googling what size people put in.
400 dollars a piece I'll take 10 pf them
@@dieselpackgarage8796nothing wrong batteries you have!
Doesn’t matter what batteries as long as they’re higher cranking amps
What was the WiFi password. I forgot what it was and threw away the manual
I think it was 12345678
@@dieselpackgarage8796 appreciate it man
Holy S@!t that’s a lot of grease!!!!! Just do a light brushing of brake grease!
Yeaaa definitely went a little over on it. Lesson learned and greatly improved on future jobs haha
If your rotor is stuck and you don’t have buckets of different screw sizes to guess and check (or the time for that matter) just do a couple hits to the center area of the rotor with a heavy hammer and it should pop it off. If you are replacing the rotor anyway, go ahead and hit it on the sides of the rotor for the angle. Be smart though…don’t hit the tread where your lug nuts go.
Very good idea, Thank you!!
Gotta love the fast forward through the headliner removal with little detail....
Apologies on that, something I've done a ton so it just totally skipped my mind to include. I'll definitely keep that in mind for future videos.
