I just bought one, delivered last week. Rode it a few times and I like it. The 2 issues so far I’ve noticed is, I wish they went with hard plastic fenders instead of metal as they raddle while riding. Second is battery life which I’m still testing, seems short lasting. I like the bike though.

    • @scotthardesty

The noise from the motor is induction noise as it’s brushless ,the controller is throwing amps into the motor which can only go as fast as the weight that is on it ie lighter rider less noise, once the motor reaches the required rotation for the amps it goes quieter nothing to worry about ac motors hum when this happens under load

Im thinking about equipping this bike with 2nd engine but in mid drive, geared for more top speed, on separate throttle, it would be super useful on my farm, i could fold it, load it on a tractor, deliver the tractor to the field and come back for more equipment. It would remove the need for 2 ppl to just go back and forth with a car, but first i need to save some money to buy the bike in the first place. Unless theres someone imterested in sponsoring this experiment which i would record and i would give you the full right to the video.

There are a couple of things I don't like 1 the rear brake is a hand grip would be ok except it is on the right side, the same position that my motorcycles frunt brake . My quad was the same thing and changed the brake on it foot back breaking and right hand frunt break like a motorcycle . I did that for emergency reasons you didn't want to have the brakes mixing if i a emergency happens you have the problem of rember what you are riding and not reflects.
2 Not having a brake light is also a problem for anyone in back of you. The electric bicycle has limited range and batteries run down to nothing. The problem with the electric bicycle, why don't they have two battery packs on the bicycle or a quick change battery pack or as many as you want. The battery in my tablet gets weaker and weaker and it needs to be changed more frequently and the time is shorter and shorter between changes.
Someone told me it was because of overcharged battery because i use it all day and charged it all night a no no. The new battery is the answer to the problem or a double battery that you can charge when nessity. Overcharged swich automatically stops the charger and keeps from overcharged battery from damaging the battery.
The price of a electric bicycle are too hi rite now and I can buy a motorcycle for about the same price and ride it all day to night and not worry about battery bullshit. 50 miles to a gallon and you stop and refule in a minute or two like a fast changed battery pack. Waiting 4 to 6 hour's for a recharge battery is a painful process especially if you are out and about . If you had quick change battery pack no problem also you would not be in the forest and have to pedal your ass home. A gas powered bike you know how far you can go by the mileage. It would be nice to have some way of telling you how much change is left so you have a approximate amount to get home.
Little things that keep me off a electric bicycle a brake light 🚦 would be nice because of your slow speed and yes i have looked at 60mph electric bicycles and they have the same problem with control issues. Disk brakes are not enough to stop quickly. Not compare to a motorcycle or quad. They have a nuclear battery now and that will solve the battery problem i am going to wait until then. 60mph all day long would 😂be nice ,and real breaking system with a brake light is on my list of things to change.
i have bought 300 dollars motorcycles fix them up and sell it for 1000 dollars after fixing them up. That's before biden economic crisis inflation in Japan 🇯🇵 is a problem nowadays.

First of all, this bike is heavy. I mean really heavy. I had to get some help installing the front wheel because it is definitely not a one man job.
The accessories are not worthless, except for the cell phone mount, if you trust that with your $1000 cellphone then you are braver than me and probably do not pay your own bill. The lock is easily pickable and mostly cosmetic, the mirrors are pointless at best, the tools will allow you to build the bike, but a tire patch kit in leiu of the mirrors or cellphone holder would be a good choice.
There is mention of mode changing and password resets that are supposed to be explained in the manual. Neither the included manual nor the online version refer to these other than to say they exist. The PAS mode, which is what I actually wanted though, is easy to use, I found all five levels quickly and easily. They were responsive and twisting the throttle will start the bike from a dead stop in pedal assist mode.
Okay, I am 5'8" tall and 275 pounds. This bike fits me quite well. I bought it to make recovery from a quadriceps injury where I put on 60 pounds and could not walk for two years , a little more bearable. As long as the bike holds up I think it will do a fantastic job of that. I would recommend a step through frame for anyone else trying to use this as physical therapy. The bar is lower than a "Boy's" bike, but it is a stretch for me to throw my leg over it.
I will say that their minimum height is pushing it a little, I think. The seat, resting on the frame, is about as high as I would want to go if I was using it for power only or if I had very limited experience with riding a bike. My ex, for example, was 4'9" and did not grow up riding a bike. This bike would be a non-starter for her. Yes, the minimum height recommended is 5'6" take that seriously, they mean it.
Over all, after 5 miles, I am pleased with this ebike.
I mostly wish the video was more honest about how difficult this is to assemble, and gave some clue how to access the various functions that seem to be talked about but not exist.

Thanks for watching... and thanks for commenting. With that said, would you have liked a 1hr assembly video? I have assembled many bikes by the time I made this video. So (for me) this bike was a normal assembly. We all have different skill sets, I am not a computer engineer, so something that would take you 30 minutes might take me hours. Just because you are a car mechanic doesn't make you a bike mechanic (as you figured out).
And yes, I get paid to do an assembly video, I don't like to do them because they take so much time (and obviously editing) to keep it from being a 1hr video (or in your case a 2hr video). So I charge the company for that.
Since this video, they upgraded this bike so some things may not be the same as your version. I still find the accessories worthless when it comes to better ones that I use.
I appreciate you honest response to my honest review.

@@scotthardesty Yes, I really would have liked a one hour assembly video. I get it, not everyone has the patience for that, but after spending $1000 on a bike, wether it is a luxury item or in my case a piece of physical therapy equipment, having the details to work with would have been nice. Not necessary, but I am not the average accountant trying to slap a Christmas present together for their kid.
I also get that this is a generic bike and that a lot of companies market and sell it, and that there will be variations. I'd really like to be able to access the functions that all of them list.
Oh, one more thing. The pymp included does work well, it's a little much for a bike, an I have not found anyway to carry it on the bike other than a back sheath. A smaller pump would take more work, but bea bettr choice in the long run.

I just bought a car of the same model, the appearance and structure are almost the same. The problem now is that I haven't found the keyhole of this car yet.

The keyhole is under the top bar where the battery goes.

Can you carry your girlfriend if seated on the rear rack? I was thinking about placing a rear seat and use this bike to carry my girlfriend around. Would this bike do well in that circumstance? My gf weighs around 100 pounds

heavy bike, small battery. I do believe they have updated this model since this review but I do not know the changes.

Tiny Battery and too much mass with 26 inches wheels, too much resistance limiting range to 15 miles after a year of use, also horrible steering , impossible to make sharp turns. Literally built for giants, 6 foot 5 or 7 feet tall basket ball players, Not a big fan of this bike. I would not buy another one. Too low an energy density of the battery and very limited range. I have 2 small 14" tire and 15Amp hour battery folding e bike with 45 PSI tires range is 25 miles and those bikes are 500 dollars or less each.

Thank you for this input! It's good hear good and bad from someone who has owned the bike for long time.

Sorry man. Yes, 95% of these bikes are made in China. Even Aventon bikes are made in China (they have their own factory there). It really just comes down to you are your bike. If you like your bike, you're good. If you love your bike, even better. A lot of these bikes are the same but there is something about each and every model that has something that stands out. It's the same with cars. Many look and act the same but they all have something unique about them.
