I was nearly screaming at my phone when you went of your measurements on your cookies, there is a reason the measurements is there, trust me- I’ve tried and failed too😂
The air fryer had nothing to do with the cookies being crispy on the outside and bready on the inside. You have to be exact with the sugar and flour the recipe called for. You had to add more flour because you had reduced the amount of sugar the recipe called for. That is why it seemed to not be making the dough you wanted.
This!! Baking is a science, cooking is an art. Baking needs to be precise to turn out right, you shouldn't mess with the recipe unless you're an experienced baker. Cooking is much more forgiving with adjusting and making changes.
As a new viewer, same, but from what I've gathered she and Tina are friends and Zenn works with Tina with the filming and probably editing parts of the channel. @@lilimangtamin9435
With chocolate chip cookies, it is important to put in the proper amounts of sugar. It affects the texture of your cookies. Baking, unlike cooking, is presice. It matters. "It's kind of like bready." That has to do with the sugar amounts and the flour. It usually takes me an hour to make chocolate chip cookies, but that is because I chill my dough.
Any idea why my choc chip cookies always come out of the oven flat as a pancake? I follow the recipe to a T, chill the recipe, why?! They spread and go so so so thin 😩😭
@@CM-wf2uo It might just be your oven tbh. You can get an oven thermometer to make sure it's heating up to the correct temperature. My gas oven goes over what the numbers on the knob said so that's what I had to do.
@@CM-wf2uo Hmm, maybe make ball shapes and then chill in the freezer for a little while. Maybe this helps. When I make them, I experienced colder the dough makes thicker cookies.
Tina there are little tabletop ovens that you can buy, sometimes refer to as toaster ovens, that could help with the fact you don't have an oven in your kitchen. Really lovely video as usual.
Ah, there's a reason why you want to stick to the intended measurements when baking, lesser sugar compromises the soft chewy texture in your cookie and results in a flatter cake. I'd play safe and stick to the amounts stated usually but if I do want to reduce the sugar, it would only be about 20 to 30% reduction, so I do get as close as I can get to the original texture. That said, different types of sugar used will also yield different results.
I think the problem with the cookies was Tina used a "brown" sugar that was just normal sugar less refined to be white, the recipe uses brown sugar and white sugar because "Brown sugar" has a natual molasses content which makes it sticky. That's why the tiktok's brown sugar fell in clumps and Tina's flowed freely from the bag. If it's not clumpy and sticky it's not the right brown sugar.
Is there anything that you can substitute the real brown sugar with? I’m from Germany and we only have the ‚fake‘ one here that she also used in the video :(
@@cecazy If you're able to find molasses you can make it yourself using white sugar -- the ratio is about 200g white sugar to 12-25 grams molasses and you can just mix them together. If molasses is hard to find I've used dark treacle as a substitute, or google says you can use Zuckerrübensirup too. If you're able to find dark muscovado sugar, I've also used that as a substitute, but it's a bit drier than standard US brown sugar.
That wasn’t brown sugar you used, it was raw sugar or demarera sugar and white sugar. Brown sugar is made with molasses so its quite molten (moves a little like lava when you touch it in its uncooked state) and has a rich caramelised flavour and chewiness in baked goods. You’ll notice a difference in the way the cookie bakes both texturally too. A recipe’s sugar to flour ratio is also important ie more flour=more cakey /bready texture. Hope that helps a little ❤
Raw sugar is essentially brown sugar in its unprocessed form. Where do you think the molasses used in "man-made" brown sugar comes from? It just removes the process of separating the sugar from the molasses then recombining them.
I’ve been wanting for Tina to try the sushi bake for awhile so I’m glad she finally did, you can also do it with salmon which is supposed to be even better
I was eating my late night soup and was hoping to find something to watch snd your video appeared! I enjoy this recipe videos the most (along with trying hauls) thank you!!
The biscuits may not have turned out like hers because you do need the right amount of sugar. The two different types of sugar helps with the chewyness
Can anyone tell me, it's zenn Alf biological sis or not?? Everytime i see them both 16:32 ,16:34 it's make me kinda sus😅😂 btw ❤Tina, love your video sooo mucch!!
Takes me half a day to make cookies because I have to let the dough rest and 'marinate' in the fridge for 8 hours++ ✨ Also, I bake mine in the air fryer too!
Idk if anyone answered yet, but depending on whether you chill the cookie dough before baking, choc chip cookies take between half an hour and, like, 12 hours. Some recipes that use a softer dough because of the amount of liquid ingredients etc need proper chilling before they can be baked and hold their shape.
Thanks for the content 🖤 I think the gnocchi might have been gluten-free. Over here in Germany „Schär“ is the biggest company for gluten-free things. So it might change reaction combining them with the sauce 🙃
omg please follow the exact recipe when you're baking 😂 the amount of sugar is crucial!! also the flour. and you can't mix in the flour for too long too! please do a baking video next time! i love seeing the mishaps hahaha
I made that spinach gnocchi because it looked so pretty and the woman in the video sold me on it but it was NASTY. Idk what I did wrong and I'm too scared to try again. Also that brand of gnocchi is gluten free so I'm not sure if that was intentional, but generally gluten free stuff has textural issues compared to the real deal.
Love these videos ! I believe the difference of texture for the cookies is because the dough from the receipe video is chilled (so much for the 10min video 😂)
you cant mess with ratios in baking without knowing what you're doing - the amount of sugar, mixing, flour etc is what makes the chemical reactions work!
Chef Tina is back with a cooking video!
Zen and lyla were matching 😊
Love eating the mini sushi bake super yummy
yay
Why, their is three comment??😅
Hiii Tina❤ i luvvv your channel and I luvv your videos and you are always a gorgeous women!!❤😍

Came here to say the same thing 😁👍
yeahhh lol i cringed when she adjusted the recipe, baking is not like cooking where you measure with your heart, youve gotta be exact!
@BrookeRyde measuring with the heart, best thing I've ever heard about baking!

@@BrookeRydeagree, but since it’s a cookie recipe, it’s more forgiving. And American use too much sugar 😩
I love the bond Zenn has with little Lyla
I'm little bit clueless here

The amount sugar to butter ratio is very important for the cookie's texture and yes it's a lot of sugar 😅
