is the proximity sensor married to the motherboard? I swapped two iPhone X screens today without swapping the proximity sensors, just a straight screen swap and afterwards the Face ID stopped working on both. swapping both screens back to the original phones made the Face ID work again.
Sometimes removing those proximity sensors can be a pain in the ass. It's always good to keep/buy an original spare proximity sensor/f-cam/mic assembly in case the sensor ever gets damaged coming out. And btw, this wasn't exactly a tear down. More like a screen replacement tutorial.

You should NEVER be popping the battery flex cable with a damn flathead... jeeze there’s a lot off here. You can ground it out (I’ve seen this happen)... I’m not sure if it does actual damage or not, but I’ve seen that arc before
There is nothing "simple" about that repair. It is multi-minute fiddling with tiny screws and connectors that you need a magnifying glass to see. Also, the multifold connector stack was painful to watch talking off and putting on. But I guess this is what cellphone repair is these days. Thanks for showing how the screen comes off. That part was straightforward.
Where did you get the replacement gasket? And what about that gasket makes it ip67 compliant? How is it different from the adhesive gaskets sold for older phones that weren’t ip67 from the manufacturer to begin with?
I'm sorry but this video does not exactly spark confidence in me that iCracked techs know what they are doing. Just a suggestion, but give her a few go throughs next time to look polished.

So it looks like they just bought all the iFixIt tools, parts, gaskets, and just made a video.
So if we replace anything with a generic do we lose anything like the previous generations if you replaced the homebutton you lost it
To shut down the iPhone X you hold down the volume and power button and the shut down menu will appear.

To shut down hold the power and volume up buttons and it will bring up the shut down screen.
dougfromniu I think it’s volume down, like iPhone 7 hard reset. I could very well be wrong though.
apparently a long press on the power and either the volume up or volume down will get you to the shut down screen. a short press of power and volume up will take a screenshot.

JerseyLeems a master tech by nature must convey a master status. In my personal opinion, this is the same as a DR not wearing gloves with a patient, it’s not only for the sake of the patient, but it’s for the well-being of the doctor. Do you realize how many germs and such you Touch in a week as a tech? I touch atleast 100+ phones a week, this is technically like holding all my customers hands while they use the restroom and play on their phones. He’s teaching hundreds of other techs by example how to work on devices. If we look deeper into the situation, and you look deeper into me. You will see that gloves are my first line of defense and I always teach that. I’m not ashamed of that.
You're working on people’s super dirty devices, and for iCracked your working on them in any environment. You can say whatever you want about me, my channel, or anything. But you’ll never shame me off of showing proper repair.
Regardless of this persons knowledge, who they are, or anything, they are not teaching proper repair technique In my opinion. Just like it’s the right of any of my subscribers to point out my flaws and failures, which they do. I try to take something away, not fanboy up and defend someone without anything other than a “I know they know what their doing”
Why not look objectively at the comment and try to take something away from it.
