As a dj that uses virtualdj, most of those features mentioned that limited specific hardware, it's not something vdj users hv to deal with. We can u stems on the eq with any controller or mixers via mapping as well as isolated stems fx. Thus as far as features go only thing I'm impressed with outside of vdj are the fluid beatgrids on djay pro, but they still get the bpms wrong more than any other software.
Serato needs to build a new Library layout with some machine learning that could : suggest you next songs from your play history - be able to lock from playing certain tracks ( let's say a do not playlist or dirty version tracks) - a double click on a track and edit all the tags/metadata of said track. Another feature I would love to see is a new serato remote. (Now that support has dropped)
A proper universal system for managing crates and libraries that is software agnostic and allows you to use any DJ software. This will force companies to work hard to make their products better because it’s easy for people to switch to whatever program they want without all of your tools crates, mappings, cue points etc being held hostage
Rekordbox also lacks this badly, i enjoy playing a lot of none DAW music and when i think of the literal Weeks worth of my life i have spent correcting crap Beatgridding, its got to be the feature i most want now, even more than passable Stems :)
I used to use Traktor all the time with an S8. I love the remix decks, and all the integrated stems and FX capabilities. Combining all the loops and samples allows one to create new mixes of songs on the fly. It also does a great job with syncing all kinds of devices together using the internal midi clock. I really only DJ now with spinning platters and turntables, so I haven't used Traktor for awhile. I almost exclusively use Serato now. I guess I can use the serato TR-SYNC feature. It would be so awesome if Traktor came out with a spinning deck controller. Imagine a spinning deck controller with an integrated Roland 808 drum machine like the Roland 505 has, and all functionality of Traktor software. I would definitely turn my head towards that.
They have one... The S4 has been out for years and has motorized jogs. They operate a little differently than the other spinning platter jogs but they move and have haptic feedback... You should def check them out
I want a DJ DAW that has VSTs that I can configure myself based on best of brand plugins. I want to be able to MIDI map everything and have an embedded controller that allows me to store my rack either onboard or offload it to another single or farm of computers.
What I think should be available to EVERY Serato DJ Pro user is the new "advanced view" in the FX section... It's an impudence that you have to own the all expansion stuff for such a basic feature.... When it comes to totally new stuff, I think a sidechain feature would be amazing as well as VST-plugin support , but both would be very taxing on your laptop to work in realtime
Hey Pdot I appreciate what you do for the community! I’ve been watching your videos since your I-Tunes tagging tips videos. I like you you would like better library organization in Serato. I would like to see some of the features of Virtual Dj like there sandbox feature.
I want Serato to have a feature where I can press a button and it will automatically look at all my folders and upgrade them if new songs were added. My last pet peeve with Serato is I hate when it automatically changes the wavelengths size from large to small. I wish they would they would automatically resize depending on the interface layout you choose. I always seem to have to go back and hit my shift and tap on the mouse pad to resize it. So it’s just not me. I finally switched from Traktor Pro to Serato DJ Pro because of the Rane 4 (STEMS). When I started to tag and edit my library on Serato, I found that the Library management tools are frustratingly awful (keyboard shortcuts?) compared to Traktor. I still use Traktor to tag edit my library because of the ease. Come on Serato!
Am a serato user and one thing that I think serato could use as part of the software is be able to do a edit track within the software as rekorbox does I saw that in a video once and i thought if serato could do that it would make things easier, the so call clean track sometimes sound odd and not very clean either but being able to edit your way it would be easier to do it your way.
Technology and software can't give you what you don't have, like musicality, feel of the room energy and educating yourself on world music and sounds present and past.

…..also those effects updates are also a way better situation for RANEONE users that purchased when released at close to 2k and no onboard effects. Just sayin
Here is a question even serato hasnt been able to answer. I use an external hard drive from a pc to use it with a mac pro i get a few years old but has a i7 16 gb of ram and 1 tb if ssd, any when i plug my external drive into the mac, the fonds ard super small how can i make them bigger fonts view on a mac? Any ideas would be appreciated as i have not been able to figured this out

Track suggestions need to be there. This is why I use Rekordbox or Virtual DJ.
Library management tools need to be upgraded big time!! how can we have something like stems and at same time lacklustre library tools in 2024

Changes to the waveform view, better crate / library management, and improved grids / bpm / key recognition

Universal library access. Not being able to use files,crates, cue points across software is frustrating as hell.

Library management build in this is why i stay with VDJ. Serato lock everything behind pay walls .My rev 5 can't do PNP without me paying.
