Wow, what a fantastic presentation. I really enjoyed how you blend (pull Scripture together) the OT and NT to explain in the Transfiguration. I look forward more of your youtube videos.
Chad, thank you once again. Would you ever consider writing something on the Psalms? A kind of a cross-breed between "reading the Psalms with Luther" and "unveiling Mercy".
Yes, that is actually on my list of future books to write. In the meanwhile, you might enjoy a podcast on the psalms that I do with 1517 called “Hidden Streams.”
Terrific. More and more I am understanding the critical importance of seeing Jesus as "faithful Israel." Is there a book, or books that you would recommend to research this further? Thanks again. brother. Can you believe Ash Wednesday is next week???
@@chadbird1517 Don't know if you would be willing to answer this, you just touched on it, but this is my question. There is a lot of debate about the body of Christ after His resurrection, post ascension, in relation to the second coming. Some say that He will appear the same as His ascension. In relation to the transfiguration appearance, according to Peter, Jesus will appear the same way as as he saw Jesus in the transfiguration at the coming of the Lord. Is that possible?
@@james-cq3mi the most straightforward answer, in my opinion, is that he will appear in glory, as the GodMan that he is. What exactly that will look like--I don't think we have enough biblical evidence to say (or even the necessity to try to say). It will be Jesus, fully divine and fully human, whom we see. Beyond that, I don't know, nor do I think it matters. But we will all know who he is.
@@chadbird1517 Thanks for the reply Chad. The bodily resurrection of the dead doesn't seem to fit in my mind, when I read• The dust will return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (Ecclesiastes 12:7) I do agree with you that it really doesn't matter, because like you said, and John said: • Beloved, now we are children of God; not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:1-2 Thanks for taking the time. I enjoyed your video.
Matthew 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. The corn. This is why Jesus, Moses, and Elijah was on the mountain. The transfiguration of Jesus is the same image that happens in the judgment within your eternal sea of glass. This is the symbolic concept of changing the water into wine. Moses. Some of the same people in Moses time that prevented Israel from being set free from the the pharaoh in Egypt, is some of the same spirits, in the spirit world, that will stop the wise virgins, that is a part of the 144,000 from being set free from satan, in the time of the judgment. Elias, and John the Baptist, mistaken identity is the same image that happens between the son of man, the spirit of grace and The Spirit Of Truth in the judgment.

Thank you Chad , you have opened the layers of old testament theology in the diety of Christ . Each and every detail in the narrative is fascinating .
Thanks Chad!
Thank you for bringing so much light on such passage. I began to see it in a different way now onwards.

N. T. Wright is a good place to start. Try his The New Testament and the People of God.

The light of the transfiguaration is actually the kingdom of God and it is uncreated!
