Hi there. I'm !looking through your videos and am really fascinated at this breeding f goldfish. I would love to give this a go next hear. I have a few questions. If I did a setup the same as you did here, I'm assuming I would leave the spawned eggs in this guy for a few months at least? Also would this tub need to have aeration added at all in this time ? And also, where is the best place to position this breeding tub , in Sun or shade etc. Also how long do the cry need to eat daphnia before being able to move on to flake or other. Would love to hear your reply please as it sounds like fun. I have a pond with mixed goldfish varietys and have seen lots of spawning action this year, but not seen any try at all.
Hi I would recommend you leave the fry in there for about a month depending on the size of the tub. Yes I would recommend Aeration but I would use a weak aerator to not disturb the fry. I would position it in a place where it gets some sunlight maybe for a few hours but where it can also get shade for a few hours. I would usually wait a few months when the fry are about 2cm to move them on to small flakes but I would wean them onto this by still providing daphnia. Alternatively if you goldfish spawn in your pond you can remove the items which they have spawned on which have eggs and place them in to the tub with the same pond water. Hope this helps 👍
Yes that's great thanks. Would you say that spring is better to do this setup as they can be outside all of the time as to do it now would mean bringing them indoors as the weather gets too cold.@@UkKoiFish
