You two are such a joy to watch. Your love and kindness comes through. I am almost 71 and cross stitched in my late teens and early 20s then dropped it to raise kids and further my career. I came back to it over 45 years later - during the pandemic - and so enjoying all the changes - yet the sameness - of the craft. Blessings to you both!

Allie, I glue my ric Rac, Pom poms and chenille trims and like how it finishes. Watch Helen D, Annie the Proper Stitcher (I think), Vonna Pfeiffer, and Primrose Cottage for all tutorials, especially on ric rac. Very different and easy ways to do it! I’m working on a Brenda Gervais, Saltbox Quilt Sampler and a Luminous Fiber Arts, Counting is Hard. I am primarily a monogamous stitcher so having two WIPS makes me a little crazy. I’m going to a retreat in Tulsa at The Silver Needle in July, and I’m doing homework stitching for the finishing classes they are having before the retreat. I also quilt and do wool appliqué. Love the retired life!
Those are some pretty charts! Now that I’m on summer break, I will definitely watch those videos and try and figure it out for my patriotic Quaker finish! Thanks!
Ally, your hair looks adorable! When I first started making pillows, someone suggested to me to take yarn and stuff up in the corners and then when you put your stuffing in the corners stay nice and firm. I buy the large yarn at hobby lobby, and I kind of make a knot with it and stuff it up in there. I’m glad you had a great time in Hawaii Amy.

Right now I'm stitching Singing Sparrow by Sweet Wing Studio and I'm also working on Hive Rules by Primrose Cottage Stitches. Loving them both!! About halfway done on both. I'm also new at sewing and made my second pillow a few days ago and they do get better and a tad easier!! Maybe not easy to me yet but I'm getting there as well.

Hi Ladies. I’m a retired hs math teacher. I just finished a sampler that I started in September. I’ll take it to be framed this week to be entered in our state fair this summer. It is the cruise sampler from last falls Stitchers’ Escapes Cruise to New England and Canada with designer Jean Farish. It will probably be released to the public next year. I also stitched up A Round France by JBW Designs. I made it into a paper weight for my French college professor daughter for her birthday. I just returned from 8 days visiting Boston for my daughter’s birthday and NYC to see a Broadway show and a Mets game so I think I’ll stay put for a while. Family will be visiting for the 4th so hubby and I have some work to take care of at home. Love your Flosstube. I wish my daughters shared my stitching passion.

I just recently seen were Mirabilia has a free mermaid pattern on her page. Might go well with your pirate ship. I am going to my first retreat and I am working on a small for a trade. Then I will be doing the patriotic Quaker.
So much stitching right now... a virtual retreat or class every other weekend! Next weekend blackneedlesociety has a class I purchased back in January called something wicked (taught by LadyDotcreates and she has an etsy store). The is Anabellas retreat with Luminous Fiber Arts. And 2 weeks after that is frogwarts also put on by the blackneedlesociety! Frogwarts is a bit more intense so I'm currently getting stitching projects in order for the hour long stitching events for house points. 😅 currently 3 projects ready out of 7. Love to see all your progress on your projects! Happy stitching! ❤❤❤

I am really enjoying watching your Flosstube and the relationship between the two of you… I am currently working one a Patriotic Bellpull from an old Counted Cross Stitch book… I’m an “old” stitcher and have so many books and charts… there is a whole new world out there that I didn’t know existed… I live alone so watching Flosstube feels like I’m not so alone…
Here is one more thing you might find interesting since you enjoy history… I’m so proud of my Mom! She was a Code Girl during WWII!! She is still living and doing pretty well… she is 103!! I doubt there are many ladies left who did that with her…!! Happy Stitching!!😊💗🧵🪡

I just started stitching American Welcome by Plum Street Samplers. Love what you are working on. I also love watching Sarah from Sarah’s Stitchy Spot. I have been watching her since her very first FlossTube. I love her excitement for the cross stitch community and her enthusiasm for cross stitch. She is one very special lady. I feel your pain with the heat, I lived in north Phoenix for 24 years and hated ever summer because of the heat. I got to retire after 33 years working in the OR as a Certified Surgical Technologist. I was so happy that I got to return to Kansas after all that time, I now have all 4 seasons

And Allie, just spend a little time in the Midwest ( I live in St Louis, Mo) and the humidity in the summer will send you back to Arizona in a flash! I really enjoy the videos from you two! Great to see y'all enjoying your summer! I'm stitching Satsuma Street ornaments on perforated paper. The colors are so vibrant that they make for a fun and easy summer stitch. Some of them have beads and sequins which make these small projects a nice introduction to beading. I really need to get back to my quilting projects soon but a sewing room clean up is required for that to happen so that will be my next challenge this summer. Looking forward to that reboot. Love seeing y'alls stitching and hearing about your travels.

I’m in the midst of The Raven Queen by Mirabelia(hope I finish it before I die😂). My guild is doing an old pattern called Mary Wigam. It’s a Quaker with many motifs, each of us is doing our own interpretation and the progress, different fabrics and threads is so wonderful to see. We all started on New Year’s Day this year. Also fully finished an old Prairie Schooler patriotic strawberry. Have a good start on Carolyn Manning’s 10,000 Lakes. Many others on deck and those that need kitting up. My craft room is a disaster….. Life is good! Take care

Ally, I really like your new haircut, too. Current stitch that I’ll finish up this month is Fred's Ewe-nifying Question. It’s a cute Mr Rodger’s themed piece. I was looking for a piece to use leftover thread bed pieces and found a great one by Carolyn Manning-called Lil Bunch of Blooms. I’m having fun with the color selections from my stack of thread pieces and bits. My goodness, that certainly is a daunting task working on your grading project. I hope it wraps up soon for you. Uuhhhh I never get tired of stitching!! And if I do there is a pile of finished ones that need to be ffo’d. I have no problem ignoring dirt. Ha. No my house is not dirty or messy. I just have my priorities! 😊. I’m 3 squares from finishing all 5 patterns of Erica Michaels A Bee Cs and am about 3/5 of the way through Erin Elizabeth’s American Flag.

It has the Pledge of Allegiance in the bottom center of the design and I have to admit I am not enjoying. It has a lot of 1/4 stitches and backstitch. Ugh! I am glad you enjoyed KCMO, Ally. We unfortunately did not get to any Cross stitch shops. I would have loved to have visited the one in Missouri, but it closed the same time we were finishing up our grading for the day.

I've just started In Praise of Pollinators by The Blue Flower - joining Laladee's SAL. If you guys decide to start Aphrodite you should totally host a SAL for it! I need another SAL like I need a hole in the head but I've been slowly collecting a few Miribilia/Nora Corbet mermaids but haven't actually started one yet. 😂 Collecting really is a separate hobby!

Myself and my 2 stitchy friends are currently stitching the MSAL from Jardin Prive. It’s a cute stitch and comes out every Monday for 8 weeks. I am also looking forward to the MSAL coming out soon by Satsuma Street. Her MSAL’s are wonderful and so colorful.

I’m glad I found you! I’m a retired teacher, a Navy wife, mom of three, grandma to three, a Navy mom, and a widow of two and a half years. The Navy brought us many years ago to coastal Mississippi where it is extremely hot and humid most of the year; however, every seven to ten years we may get a dusting of snow(we still own snow shovels!) otherwise we wish for dreary Christmas Days so that the tree lights show, lol! I’ve been cross stitching off and on for about 47 years. I’ve been to The Attic and their retreats numerous times. Enjoy stitching together-my daughter is not interested though she enjoys being the recipient of my crafting endeavors!

@LostOurNeedles 14 count Stormy Night aida. Stitching all 12 on one piece! I have changed up some of the colors...was having trouble with some of the white looking good

High school students take a big test at the end of the school year. If they get a passing score they can get college credit for the test. As part of the test they have short answer questions, a document based question, (where they have to analyze documents to formulate a response), and a long essay question (where they respond to a prompt from what they learned). So teachers and college professors come together to score them.
That is exciting for your LNS!!

Where do you take your finishes to be framed? Or do you do yourself. I was watching a video and they suggested to stuff cotton balls in the corners to fill out. I too like pillows. I'm in Scottsdale so can relate to the heat
So far, the ones I have framed have been framed by myself. However, I have a larger project or two that when it’s finished, I will get that professionally framed.
