I'm a Senior Electrical Engineer based in the USA, and I appreciate the clarity of your video. Please continue creating more content. In your upcoming video, I suggest conducting a Megger test on a faulty motor to demonstrate the consequences of a malfunctioning motor. Additionally, provide a comparison between a well-functioning motor and a defective one to help viewers discern the differences.

@@totabi I think because voltage between megger terminals is high and between multimeter terminals is low ( only 4 to 5 volts). Whereas megger voltage is around 500 volts plus. So if insulation is weak, megger may show short, which will not be shown by multimeter. So megger is useful for preventive maintenance, because it will show weak insulation before motor actually shorts. I am a mechanical ( not electrical) engineer, but this is my thinking based also on some discussion with electrical engineers.
I was told by an electrical technician that in practice, the resistance between any terminal and motor body will not be infinity, but some finite value, depending on how old the motor is and how weak tge insulation. And there is a permissible minimum limit for this. Can you throw some light on this? Also, Mashallah, very clearly explained !
Here infinity means the maximum capacity of the meter. Eg: Suppose the IR value of cable is 100 gohm. When we test with a megger of 10 gohm capacity the needle will deflect to infinity mark. So if we want to know the finite value we have to use say 1000 gohm megger Hope this clears your doubts. In electronic meters infinity will be displayed as OL or 1.
Yes dear @ V Chandrashakar there is some finite resistance between winding and body but that is of high range hundreds of mega ohm to Gega ohms . This meggar is having a finite Limit of resistance measurement. And here the infinity means the magger maximum limit
Hello sir pls upload about Single and 3 phase AC motor it's construction and working principal... aap bhut acche se explain karte hai esliy it's a request pls upload complete information dena ho sake to connection BHI batana.....plzzzzz l watch lots of your videos.... I like them so much and it's way of explanation...
Megger injects 500 or 1000 V as per code requirement. But a multimeter injects only 3v which can be useful for testing conductors and not insulation integrity/soundness.
Sir ye cheking to multi meter ya searies lamp se bhi kar sakte hai Aur ek baat agar motor ki winding andar me jali huyi hogi to waise condition me bhi to meger meter sahi hi batayega Sir pls ek satisfied video banaye jisme jali huyi motor bhi ho taki samajh me aaye
Sir megger karny k bad earth karna bhi zarori hota hai kyun k megger k dc voltage charge hoty hain is liye megger k bad har phase ko earth karen k voltage discharge hojayen?

Nice clarification... But if we want to these 3 test from our digital multimeter???
yes you can easily
@@AJElectric then why we use megga?

So should we connect the plus end of the megger to the body or to the winding? so how should the correct polarity be?
