Bought this keyboard a few days ago (also from Japan via ebay) for my 6 year old son, and I've been playing it just as much as him. Loving it. Incredibly good, especially for the price point. I was wondering if it had the ability to loop the recording, so thank you for demonstrating that!
Bought one this Christmas (89 EUR brand new), as a total beginner, so I can practice piano, improvisation and learn MIDI. It's perfect in that role ! My flow to build a song is to record a backing track, use the "arp hold" function to overlay one of the built-in beat, and play over that : 3 instruments in parallel. Didn't know about the loop functionality, very useful tip !
Hi. Great video!. I bought this keyboard some days ago. I'm enjoying. Well, The piano sound is not so good as I wanted. But as you said, there's always the midi connection and app where we can choose the sounds we like. The recording section is very interesting. But it looks only can record a frase. And that frase don't stay save. I mean. If we record another we loose that one. Any suggestion so we can keep the fazes and right we create? So we can use it again without having to create them again? Thanks so much. Wish you health and sucesso. From Portugal :)
Thanks, nice demo. Could you tell us how many measures it can record please? Or how much time it can record? i.e. can it do a 12 bar blues or a I vi IV V in 4 bars?
@@gtberg Thank you very much for the quick response. Looking to purchase a used DX today. Can the looper overdub? Edit: I found the Quick Start Guide: 2K notes or 10 minutes at 120 BPM. You can overdub and modify loop synth params during playback. Looks like 1 loop and on power off it is gone. Thanks again.
No, there is no way to layer two instruments or split the keyboard. This is a toy keyboard keep in mind. For children. Only costs $100. If you want to layer sounds together, look to spend around $800 - 1000 on a keyboard.
Use the metronome when recording. Stop the recording before the "one" beat of the next measure sounds. The chime sound is the "one" beat, so if you hear the chime, then hit stop, you will have silence on the loop. So you have to hit stop before the chime. I find that hitting stop at the same time as the 4 beat works. Try that.

The sound is more superb than most low end Casios

I guess the only way is to record the phrases (audio or midi) on an external device.
Yeah. Yamaha is like that. Even cheapest keyboards have studio sounds.

I saw another demo from a guy. I want to say it will do around 4-5 minutes of a record. It will show the text FUL on the display.
