Hey Jason. You mentioned the Jacobsen 522a greens king having some problems that were not unheard of for that particular machine. Can you elaborate a little on the issues that plague that particular mower? Looking to pick one up in a few days and want to know what to look for. Thanks again. Your content is great by the way I don't know why you don't have more followers. Just keep grinding.

Enough time has passed where I actually take that back. Has been bullet proof since I had it serviced the first time.

Hey Jason, you say you're adding .5 lbs of N-P-K weekly? Wouldn't that eventually be way too much N and burn the grass? I have germination now on some spots I reseeded but I worry .5 is a lot per week. My soil also already has sufficient P and K. Thanks for your help.

No. It is the literal recommendation from Jacklin seeds for establishing Alpha, specifically. I end up closer to every 10ish days just because life gets in the way. It's also only for 4-6 weeks. Not forever. That would be a problem if you kept going at that rate.

No problem. If you google "establishment and management of alpha creeping bentgrass" you'll see what I'm referencing. I do believe this is assuming in sand base, which is different. But it really does work to get the new grass to start to jump out of the ground and fill in.

@@JasonSeiberlich thank you. I guess the baby bentgrass is hungry. Are you using just a basic 10-10-10? I have some i use on my shrubs every spring.

Yes. Home depot twin pines. The best option is the cheapest one you can find.

With a new belt, I think the JD. I honestly love and am annoyed by aspects of all of them.

Is there a budget reel mower out there that I can bring down to 1/4 inch . I am established 1 year now and have cut with half inch reel but want to bring it down to putt. Thanks

No. Swardman and Hudson star and allett are the "budget" reel mowers. My advice to everyone is to set alerts and train the fb marketplace algorithm to tell you when those are on sale near you.
