I see regular people these days having difficulties and as a consequence now accepting power over over their own personal actions, you feel that you are not going to be prepared to come to be empowered if you are not prepared to try to make the choice that sets you free. The thing is the selections we come up with are positively or perhaps negatively reinforcing our behaviors and so our circumstances.
I bought an 84 VW Vanagon a year ago with a buddy of mine to do exactly what you talked about in this video, travel.. We since then haven't worked on it much in the past year.. This video just reignited the fire. Thank you Chris for the inspiration and passion. Cheers to everyone chasing the dream.
It wasn't until my early twenties that I began to find an appreciation for hiking and being in nature, especially at the crack of dawn when the world is peaceful and magic, but I thank my parents for taking me and my siblings out into nature on walks and camping. I can't get enough of the outdoors and frankly, feel like I'm catching up on all the time it took me to reach this realisation.
Your video is an emotional journey to me, Chris. I used to do that with my grandfather as well. Sometimes when I´m shooting a landscape I stop, close my eyes and sit for awhile, just thinking how great life can be. Thanks for making my day with your thoughts.
Just read your article on Outdoor Photographer; Switched To The Sony EX-7 - - this confirmed my recent decision to switch from my Nikon D5300 to the Sony A6000. Cannot wait to receive it and put it through its paces
Thank you for the inspiration. I am watching this while attaching my camera strap to my very first DSLR. Time to head to the trails with my dog and capture Earth's beauty.
Chris, i've watched this one almost 9 times, combined with your other videos (under an arctic sky, gear videos etc etc..) i think i've spent a day or two seeing your video, watching your photos and analizing your reflections. you have inspired me so much that you have raised the bar of my creativity. I hope our paths will cross someday. I hope so.
Excellent video Chris. Thanks for sharing a little of your life with us. Love your photography and way of thinking about the outdoors.... very inspirational!
A truly inspirational one Chris. I have always loved your work and will continue to do. Things are never easy, but are not unachievable this is the lesson I have learnt from you. I'm going through a bit of hard time right now but I'm sure I will be where I dreamt to be. Thanks you for being so inspirational.
Beautiful and inspiring. I completely get what you meant about experience amazing things and then realizing your family isn't there with you. Tough on a level that is hard to put in words.
As if I didn't already want to do the van life thing...you just had to post this video and push me over the edge haha. Thanks for sharing Chris, great story and beautiful video.
At the end of every day I'm looking for some fulfilling stories to INSPIRE myself to go further and yours is just like that. Thank you, you made my day today))
Hi Chris! I just read an article in the September/October Backpacker magazine where you were named and felt compelled to learn more. Your black and white self portrait beautifully captured the joy and contentment of a person who understands and appreciates what it means to wander amongst nature’s vast treasures. I am inspired by your story, and I hope to learn much from you and your art.
This was perfect. You said so much visually, tying it all back to the meaning that moves and inspires you. Such an awesome project. thank you for sharing that with all the world to see.
This was amazing!!!!! Its crazy to reminisce on past experiences at the time you fully did not realize how much they impacted your life or inspired you. Thankful for everything that my father taught me while I was growing up.
Such a beautiful short film, Chris! Exactly the kind of storytelling I appreciate so much, and try to apply to my own travel videos. I also went on a roadtrip recently and made a film from it, so this was so nostalgic for me to watch and hit me right in the feeeels. Thanks for creating and sharing this. 🙏
Me emocionó! me sentí muy identificado con el camino recorrido y con lo que quiero tomar como estilo de vida profesional en este momento como filmógrafo. Gracias Chris por tanta motivación!!!
Chris, thanks for creating content like this that is both inspirational and strikingly personal. I can only say you are a big inspiration on myself personally and look forward to possibly getting to work together someday in the future! Keep up the great work!
This is amazing. Been following you for a bit now, and I think the one thing I've learned is that you make by doing. Create things by chasing an idea. Work on it non-stop. "Craft" is a term slung around, but that's what you develop!
Really awesome to see - and yes, by far the hardest part of being a full time travel photographer is leaving a wife and kids behind for weeks at a time.
as im halfway through building my own adventure rig and second guessing spending the money and time to build it, this really give me motivation to get it down and get out there. Best! fellow friend from slo

Ah Chris man... Thank you. Thank you carving a way for so many of us... So much of what so many people are doing is because of you. Thank you.
How could anyone dislike this? This is the literal dream!!! Yewww!!!
Sometimes, even a camera gets between oneself and the appreciation of nature directly.

The Sierras , Alabama hills in California, right! Beautiful! I grew up there. 😊 The areas used in a lot of movies and commercials.
