About 450-year-old Wisteria Trees are in full bloom at Tamashiki Shirne (BMPCC6K)

- On April 25, 2023, I had the opportunity to capture the magnificent wisteria blooms at Tamashiki Shrine in Kazo, Saitama, Japan.
I've always wanted to film wisteria flowers, and while Ashikaga Flower Park is famous for its breathtaking wisteria displays in the Kanto region, the wisteria at Tamashiki Shrine is equally enchanting and shouldn't be overlooked.
Just about 30-minute drive from Ashikaga Flower Park, the wisteria at Tamashiki Shrine is said to be over 450 years old. and its branches span an impressive 700 square meters.
Typically, during the Golden Week holiday, the wisteria at Tamashiki Shrine reaches its peak in bloom. However, this year, it bloomed about 10 days earlier than usual, much like the cherry blossoms.
The sight of countless cascading flower clusters was truly reminiscent of a mesmerizing purple waterfall. I was captivated by the allure of the wisteria blooms and the beauty of the surroundings. It was my first time capturing wisteria flowers on camera, and I couldn't help but be enthralled by their charm.
Next year, I definitely plan to capture the renowned wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park, known as the most beautiful in the world. Stay tuned for more amazing beauty of nature and the wonders of Japanese culture on this channel!

藤の花というとあしかがフラワーパークが有名ですが、近くにこんな素晴らしい藤もあったのですね。教えてくださりありがとうございます。見事な大藤ですね。ところで、真偽の程はわかりませんが、藤の花は映画『アバター』のシーンのモデルにもなったと言われていますね。昔、私が自宅の庭に藤の苗を植えようとしたところ、母に「藤は庭に直に植えるものではありません。植えたいなら鉢植えにしなさい。」と言われました。「藤を自宅の庭に植えると不治（藤）の病になる。」というようなゴロ合わせ的なくだらない迷信があったようです。藤にとっては大変気の毒な迷信ですね。そのせいか藤は神社やお寺の境内に植えられていることが多いのでしょうか。
