    With so much amazing street food in the city of Kuala Lumpur, it’s hard to choose the best! So today we started off our street food tour of Malaysia trying one of the most popular breakfasts here in KL, kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs with Hainan tea. A must try food to eat in Kuala Lumpur.
    Located ICC Pudu, a huge food centre full of tasty choices, this was the best place to start our street food tour of Malaysia. In there we also stumbled upon some delicious popiah, as well as a tasty local bao street food truck down the street. Malaysia truly is a street food heaven!
    We had to make sure we tasted the best bak kut teh in Kuala Lumpur, so we had a massive bowl of it before finishing our street food tour of Malaysia in Jalan Bellamy to try ikan bakar. The BBQ sambal stingray was so tender and delicious, we couldn’t believe we had never had it before! Kuala Lumpur is the place for street food in Malaysia.
    We hope you enjoy this best street food tour of Malaysia; we can’t wait to continue to try everything this country has to offer. Special mention to the BBQ sambal stingray, the Kuala Lumpur street food in Malaysia is next level!

Thus they invented bkt. In hokkien dialect it means meat bone tea in english. In cantonese yuk kuat cha. Same meaning

    She prepared maximum of 6 Kaya Toast at a time and I think the spread is pandan flavor coconut jam with cold butter and is also a signature breakfast meal in Singapore as well with two soft boiled eggs season with white pepper and soy sauce. The Yuen Yeung-Coffee Milk Tea is best drink to go along with its meal. I would preferred my Hainan Tea with Soft Ice Cream in afternoon. Busy production of the popiah as well. Steph Cantonese is getting better she ordered her Bao-Buns. Bak Kut Teh usually consisted Pork Ribs mostly Baby Back Ribs in Herbal Soup. They gave Chris lots of fatty pork. Some people can easily get upset stomach so he need some hot tea to loosen its digestion. I definitely preferred sting ray is my winner too over tilipia cooked in samba sauce wrapped with banana leaf. They're from Canada. There are still other places to explore street food like Johor, Penang, & Ipoh, etc. and would like see them cross over to Singapore for the black pepper or chilli crabs so I'm looking forward for more of their upcoming food videos.

    Those condiments you had with the ikan Bakar, the first one is sambal kicap (soy sauce, chillies, keylime/lime juice and garlic, onion) and the second would be most probably air Asam (tamarind juice/water, onions, chillies and maybe a bit of shrimp paste and also a bit of sugar - though if it's i who made it, there will be no sugar), other condiments would be budu (fermented anchovies (or other small fishes) similar to Thai fish sauce) and cencaluk (fermented krill (small shrimps))

    Gosh I miss KL food. By the way, the eggs are actually too cooked. The yolks should still be quite runny and the whites are not that firm too. You should just crack and split open it in the middle. There are tons of good food stalls in the pudu food centre. The popiah is from the Hokkien or Teochew dialect group. You can find it in Singapore and Taiwan too.
    That bao looks so nice. It reminds me of my grandfather's baos :( He used to have a home based bao factory in KL making baos and siu mais. The street vendors and sellers on bikes will buy from his shop every morning and they will sell them by the wet markets or on their make-shift bikes or tricycles.

    No..no.... Most of the ppl got it wrong. The right way to eat the kaya toast and half boiled egg should be separately, only white bread (without any filling/spread) then is good with the half boiled egg. Kaya toast and butter is sweet, so usually we just eat like that.

    • @HungryTwoTravel
      @HungryTwoTravel  2 роки тому +2

      Fair enough! Just plain would be good as well we're sure, it was actually quite a nice mix with the salty eggs and sweet toast too!
