Awesome trip and sights. That place will swallow you up if you take a wrong step. Yikes! Years ago here in Utah I remember that a boy on a youth group trip jumped across a gap in Gemini Arch and did not make it. Sad story with a tragic end. Sounds like the cold weather has arrived for you. Great views from the overlook and well worth braving the elements. Take care and have a great day.
@@BackpackingWithJason Back in the day, when camping and bringing along some Dinty Moore, I always brought about a tablespoon of instant onion soup and tossed that in the Dinty. That and black pepper made it almost gourmet. Dunk some good bread into it and your taste buds will sing.
Amazing area Jason ❤ those sink holes are scary for sure. What a stunning vista ❤😮 I love KY. And a great campfire and dinner. Yes I have eaten it. Looks really good. Great day all around
Ha ha, 'you don't want to go down that.' Awesome country Jason - well awesome state Kentucky. Well done on jumping the cavass. There's always a chance it can be different. Nice looking meal there. Have a great week ahead. Mark
One of my favorite hikes. There are several more sinkholes scattered around that area where the two big holes are. A few years ago I crossed paths with a mother bear and cubs not more than a hundred yards from the Blackburn Vista.
I seen some bear poop on this trip. I think there’s a family that stays in that area. Probably the ones you seen. Sure is a beautiful area for backpacking
I like Powder Mill Arch. Very cool. Water at your campsite? SCORE! Those sinkholes are wild. I can't eat Dinty Moore anymore. That stuff needs a strong stomach. I ate the heck out of it all in my childhood and teens though. Good stuff. Great video! 👊
Those crevices reminded me of the ones over at the Channels, in Virginia. The sinkholes are something I’ll mention to buddy. He used to spelunk all Kentucky and VA. It was a very cool thing to do. I miss it a lot, but the mini-stroke closed the door on that fun. A great video dude.🤙
I have eaten Dinty Moore Beef Stew on a backpacking trip before. It was the large pound and a half can. Stashed it after the 1st day under some rocks and picked it up on the way out. It hit the spot.
Another awesome Kentucky adventure. My luck I'd be walking along, and fall in one of those sink holes. 😅😂 Beautiful as always. Great video. Is that the tall Helionox chair I saw on your backpack? Temps dropped. Thank you for sharing. Take care Jason. 🇺🇲
Man, could you ask for anything more. A great arch, crazy sink holes, and awesome views. You have been putting out a lot of content. Yes, I have had the stew, and I like it. Good stuff Jason!
You think those holes maybe that bigger one would lead to caves? Prob a bad idea to throw some sticks and leaves over those huh? Maybe toss a ribeye on it for bait?
wow that's really cool, thank you for sharing an interesting video, I'm here to support you, keep up the enthusiasm and always be successful for all of

Beats Mtn. House beef stew
Amen to that
We have those type of sinkholes in Indiana too. I’ve discovered a bunch of them. That arch was amazing
Thanks Chris. Pretty wild area
Bear branch natural bridge is another big arch in that area on the other side of hatton ridge rd. It on a horse trail.
Thanks Dave. The RRG is so magical
Dinty Moore? Please, the only place to eat that stew is while camping. Those who've never had DM, have never been camping.😉
Nice fall trip, bud!
Thanks. That Dinty Moore is so good when it’s cold. Have a good day my friend
Hadn't been on that side yet. Planning on it though. I wanna find the Hoodoo one day.
Wild area. Pretty remote out there too
Another awesome Kentucky adventure. My luck I'd be walking along, and fall in one of those sink holes. 😅😂

You have been putting out a lot of content.
Yes, I have had the stew, and I like it.
Good stuff Jason!
It sure was a wild area for outdoor fun. Dinty Moore is so good on a cold night
Those sinkholes look sketch. Reminds me of Return of the Jedi. I don't want to end up like Boba Fett. 😅Sweet views. The crevices looked even scarier.
😂😂😂 it does look like Return of the Jedi 😂😂
You think those holes maybe that bigger one would lead to caves? Prob a bad idea to throw some sticks and leaves over those huh? Maybe toss a ribeye on it for bait?
Ribeye for bait 😂😂. I’d definitely catch something with a ribeye. I definitely seen lots of bear skat out there
Add some mashed potatoes to the dinty moore and that's good stuff.
That sounds great Doc

Kentucky is little bit like West Virginia😊
Definitely.
I grew up on the Big Sandy River. Eastern Kentucky and I know that river goes through Huntington WV. I love WV
