I have the same question as @mattanderson1890 . I need to replace the compressor, but what additional items SHOULD be replaced while undertaking this project? Do I need to replace any other components?
na this should be the only thing. the ac system has many components. depends what needs to be replaced. Compressor, expansion valve, ac condenser, dryer, ac evaporator, discharge hose....many components. start with faulty compressor. more than likely the issue
Here is my exact order for everything I replaced while I was replacing the AC compressor. Figured I was in there so why not just change it all. Will keep the old parts Incase they are ever needed again.
All ordered on rockauto

Just found out my 2012 si needs a new compressor and condensor. Labor is very pricy, so me and a mechanic friend might tackle the job...i just have a few questions
If we get a new condensor and compressor on, will i be able to drive it to a shop to have the lines vaccum sealed and cleaned out, and re filled with fre on?
@mattanderson1890 yes sir! Just get it vacuum and charged. Don't turn it on till the tech does it
@@559powerscape okay. I plan on ordering a new compressor and condensor from rock auto....is there anything else i need to order?
You’re awesome 👏 dude thanks 🙏
Heck yeah im glad this helped! Thank you for your support!
Thank you !
You're welcome!
Hi does the AC system links to radiator coolant flow?
No it does not its a its own self system
You said it was vacuumed
Does that have to been done before removing? How do you vacuum it down
yes or you can just open it ....if its under pressure its just going to leak out. you should be fine. but an ac tech does have to charge it correctly after install
@@559powerscapecan y’all explain on the vacuuming process?? I’m planning to remove my compressor later this week and would like to know the process before starting.
Hey @559powerscape how can I vacuum out the Freon without a reclaimer machine? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
@@luisespinoza7174 go to a shop, they’ll help remove it
I’m just gonna guess it’s basically the same for any 9th gen civic as well
Civic si only, base model is different engine. But yes similar procedure
