The Chicken (Jaco Pastorius) - Funk on the Electric Violin

This is violinist Gabe Gladstein and Swing Set's arrangement and performance of Pee Wee Ellis' funk tune The Chicken, as made famous by Jaco Pastorius. Featuring Brett Matoes on Bass, Zak Leever on Keys, Sidney Sullivan on Drums, Justis Jones on Vibes, and Connor Rutten on Sax. Gabe is playing the violin of jazz great Jean Luc Ponty in the video. This performance was at the 2012 Reno Jazz festival, where Swing Set took first in their division and Gabe performed with the Reno All Star Jazz Ensemble.
