d s Yeah, because an 11 year old girl holding a toddler firing at three teen boys, who had unnecessary amounts of ammo that would all fire back, would’ve somehow helped that situation? I think more teenagers should be trained on not commuting burglaries.
d s (Gonna preface this with most of my family carries, and all of my family can shoot/handle a gun. From the 90 year old great grand parents to the little nephews and nieces in elementary. Teaching kids fun safety and correct handling is all well and good.) But, if she had a gun under that bed, I only see this playing out three ways. She goes into the fear/trauma response from adrenaline of fight, flight, or freeze. Even the best of the best sometimes just can’t move. So she freezes: they shoot her and her baby sister because she saw their faces, and most likely take her gun as well. Flight: she runs, three teen boys are faster, especially when she’s carrying her little sister, they shoot her for the same reason as above, and again, also probably take her gun. Fight: she shoots first (at a more difficult angle than any practice because she’s shielding her baby sister and is panicked) so she’s emptied her clip but probably doesn’t hit all three. If she does, likely not fatally. Now she isn’t somewhere where she can reload, and has at least one or two guys that can still shoot her and her sister. I really fail to see how that’s a good scenario for her. But if you’re seeing a fourth option I’m not- by all means, I’d be interested to hear it.
as an uncle to 2 nieces and a nephew, I would absolutely flip if I got a phone call from them saying someone was trying to get in their house, the person/s would be missing body parts and eating their meals through a straw.
Very bone-chilling, especially if you're the dispatcher. But the little girl helped herself really by calling 911. Superb thinking there. Superb speed. Just leaves me speechless
this was a very good show and was also educational helping to teach people what to do and when to call for help and a grate tool for teaching children they should still have it on TV
Agreed but what about the billions of babies yearly that aren’t human? You need to listen to them too crying for their mommies and other family and loved ones if you’re fine with nonhuman animal products and testing and anything else done to those fellow animals.
I love it when the chief says,"We're not interested in meting out justice to them-that's not our *job* and if we can take them without them being hurt, us being hurt,a witness being hurt, or a victim being hurt,we're all ahead of the game."Words of wisdom"
There is no justice these days. Only getting 60 days, these kids will, more than likely, be back in jail again real soon. They already had done numerous burglaries in city and county. Next time who knows, maybe they will kill one of these young children, then it is too late. Our justice system is totally broken. The outlaws have no fear and mostly likely will continue to break the law until something real bad happens. Much of it starts with no discipline in the home when these kids are young. A lot of time there is only one parent in the family, and that in most cases it is the mother who the kids do not fear. Sometimes there is no one at home to watch these kids and they just run wild. This being the case, the future does not look bright.
Everyone criticizing the mother for leaving her 11 year old alone!!' 1st of all the grandmother was going to pick them up if you listened at the beginning!!!! And 2nd if all, this was years ago. It was a lot different back then.
By the time I was 13 I was home baby-sitting my little 3 year old brother and my 11 year old sister all the time. Things were safer back then and kids had more maturity though. These days I would not leave a toddler with a 12 or 13 year old. I would be afraid they would be too immersed with their gadgets like the internet or texting to take proper care of the toddler.
for those who are interested the house @ 1:24 is located at 434 Fig Street in Madera. it was 9:42 that gave me my point of reference, that and the canal. On a side note I was 11 years old myself in 1990, and I watched Rescue 911 with my Grandma every week.
Back in 1996 my parents used to leave me and my sister alone in the house at night while they attend some friend's party. My sister was 9 or 10 and I was 7. I'm glad nothing bad has ever happened.
@@redfire126 because she kept calm, she hid her little sister, she called 911, she helped take a group of potentially dangerous criminals off the street.
Recently a mature 10 year old was home alone while her mom ran a quick errand. While the little girl was home a male attempted to break in. The girl grabbed a cell phone and called her mom....who told to grab the house gun, hide, and call 911! The kid did that, hid in a closet, and called the 911 operator. The operator told the kid to stay quiet and don't use the gun unless threatened. The perp opened the closet.....and got a bullet in the shoulder! He ran out of the house quick...but cops caught him quickly. I am glad the girl did not kill the man, but she was quoted saying. "Now where ever I go I can hold my head high, because no body is going to mess with me!". That is one smart cookie.
the same thing happened to me once this guy rang my doorbell. And I didn't answer the door... and lucky for me a cop car was passing by and saw the guy... And Good Job to the girl and I am so glad they didn't hear her scream.

They should have shot them on sight for what they put that little girl with her baby sister through. And let that be a lesson for the rest of those scum that think its alright to break and enter on vulnerable people in there own homes.
I would rather watch constructive and informative shows like Rescue 911 instead of the dysfunctional and negative mainstream shows they're imposing on society today.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of when this happened so Katrina is 41 now. I’m sure she can never give those police officers and the dispatcher Heidi enough thanks for what they did for her. I didn’t know what those intruders wanted. When Katrina heard the doorbell ring, she had a “Who can that be?” look on her face. If I was in a situation like this, I’d be scarred for a long time and frightened.
This is why my mother was always very strict about us not answering the door for people we did not know. Katrina did not even answer the door like her mother had told her and somebody still broke in to the house. 😟 Katrina should not have been left home alone with her baby sister like this, especially when she was home sick. I know the mother probably had to work and did not have a choice at the time. But she really should have gotten a baby-sitter or somebody to look after her children.
Oh wait, just realized he said that the grandmother was coming to pick them up. So I guess they had plans for the girls to be looked after. But maybe the grandmother should have gotten their earlier or something. The girls never should have been left completely alone like this, they were too young.
how young were those thieves cause they looked like they were in the teens still its so stupid how somebody would so easily just steal your valubles which I personally think is stupid because I have had my house broken into previously and I wont stay home by myself during night time cause someone broke into my friends house and she was there by herself!!!
PLENTY of children her age have stayed home alone (ex: "latch-key kids")...I was one of them. When my mom struggled to find someone to watch us or scrap up enough money in time for Kindercare/Tutor Time/Children's World, she depended on me to watch my sisters until she was able to save enough to put us back into a day camp/after school program. I'm pretty sure like my mom this was her last resort to leave a 10 yr old & infant alone. Not all of us had the luxury to be sheltered all of the time. Situations happen and finances temporarily get a bit tight where this becomes the last resort. I'd rather be left at home for a short period of time as a child than hungry, cold, and on the streets. When those judging this parent for leaving her child alone can cough up the entire amount for all these parents to pay after school places these high ass bills maybe then your sheltered dork opinions may be valid.
My mom couldn't afford a babysitter for me at times I would stay with the landlords or if one of my neighbors was home. Sometimes an aunt would come get me but most of the time if I was sick I stayed home alone & nothing ever happened to me
Would that be so bad? A shot in the leg might save their lives later, since they become ADULTS & keep up bad behaviors they didn't get enough punishment for! 6 month's? NOT ENOUGH! So, I'm sure they got out & went RIGHT back to it! A shot woulda been merciful...!
I've learned a lot from just watching this show. This is my fav show. Panic 911 is the show that scares me. So does any murder show and horror movies, except for I Know What You Did Last Summer. I don't understand how people can watch that stuff and not get scared.
I remember when I used to watch these, I would always tense up and get on the edge of my seat as the plot built up to whatever accident was going to happen. I would feel anxious for the people. Nowadays I just don't care. I wonder why that is.
That girl definitely deserved that award for protecting her baby sister and calling 911.

how young were those thieves cause they looked like they were in the teens still its so stupid how somebody would so easily just steal your valubles which I personally think is stupid because I have had my house broken into previously and I wont stay home by myself during night time cause someone broke into my friends house and she was there by herself!!!
hayley owen the narrator said they were sentenced to juvie among other things so that means under 18, because that’s prison for minors
When those men broke into the garage, that girl knew they were coming in. She must have been frightened.
Great running Chief 😂 The agencies all working together to get these creeps was great to see
Why did not the mother call 911 immediately when her daughter called?
I left my son alone too because I couldn't pay a baby sitter Now he is 27 year old and thank to God we never been in this situation.
My mom couldn't afford a babysitter for me at times I would stay with the landlords or if one of my neighbors was home. Sometimes an aunt would come get me but most of the time if I was sick I stayed home alone & nothing ever happened to me
💕💕💕💕💕Thank you
Yeah they need to bring back the old shows like rescue 911 and unsolved mysteries with Robert Stack.
They're on Pluto TV
"Hold your position" *immedietley gets in car and drives away*
in the first segment, the intruders looked like they were 3 teenage boys.
What was the first segment?
I've learned a lot from just watching this show. This is my fav show. Panic 911 is the show that scares me. So does any murder show and horror movies, except for I Know What You Did Last Summer. I don't understand how people can watch that stuff and not get scared.
``Hold your positions.`` *Officer* Skrrt sskrrt
What a brave little girl! Jesus I'm 30 and I would've been freaked the fuck out idk if I would've handled it that well! Well done little girl!
Never open the door to a stranger
She didn't they came in through the garage and were picking the lock with some tools
Cops are also strangers! Now what?
@@svetlanikolova7673 yes so be careful
@@thomashninan3825 I am not in the us so far nobody cares if i am dead or alive in my woods
Gary Williams ok calm down...
I remember when I used to watch these, I would always tense up and get on the edge of my seat as the plot built up to whatever accident was going to happen. I would feel anxious for the people. Nowadays I just don't care. I wonder why that is.
Just got older and accustomed to the suspense.
LOVE THIS SHOW!
Those babies should have not been left alone!!!!!!!
An 11 year old is definitely not a baby. And back then children that age were mature enough to be left alone. Literally every parent did back then.
i could not watch this before my bedtime when i was a kid it gave nightmares.
Che Dio vi benedica tutti grazie x il lavoro che fate un abbraccio dell'Italia 💕💕❤💞💖💖👏👏✌
At the part when she started talking to the officer and the baby started crying, this was me: OH SH*T OH SH*T WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN?!?!?! D':
11 year old staying with an baby sibling alone .!!! geeze
You should be thankful for her actions
