London All Lines Challenge: Every Tube, National Rail and TfL Line!

- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- On the 9th April 2021, myself and The Great Eastern Train Fan embarked on perhaps the most ambitious challenge we've ever done in London - the challenge being the All Lines Challenge, but we've taken it to a whole new level.
In our version of the All Lines Challenge, we travelled on all the London Underground lines, companies operating trains in London (eg. Southeastern, Thameslink, GWR) and all TfL managed lines (eg. Trams, London Overground, TfL Rail) in the shortest time possible, something we believe nobody else has ever attempted before.
So join us on our incredible, fast paced journey against the clock. What will be our final time? Watch along to find out!
Great Video Charlie, was a very fun day
Thanks mate!

@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Is your name Charlie?
Yes :)
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Ok Charlie 👍!
Sounds like a recipe for a mental breakdown!
😂😂😂
As if London wasn't stressful enough already! Hope you were OK after this.
Haha it was very stressful but very fun. You get a big sense of accomplishment after completing all the lines.
Great video CSM. Good job
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Btw the CSM was from the fact your channel used to be CSM Trainspotting.
When I did a challenge to do all national rail operators that serve stations in London the children railways train was extremely annoying to wait at Marylebone. We also did the shuttle service from Greenford to west Ealing which was every half hour.
It’s interesting to hear from another person that has attempted such a challenge! The lines with low frequencies are incredibly annoying. In the time it took for us to board the train, we walked leisurely to the McDonalds opposite Baker Street station, waited 10 minutes for food, ate, then walked leisurely back to the station again.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney yes the challenge was similar but we didn’t race or time as I was with my grandad who wanted to get all the train numbers. I’m doing one tomorrow with him where we are visiting every London terminus
Nice train video.from Japan.
ありがとうございます!
I suppose I could try that sort of thing. Maybe just for lesuire but, rhe rube drives me nuts!
My guy this is mega! I’m gonna try this when I go down in 2 weeks!
Haha it’s so much fun, do recommend it
Great video! very entertaining!
also, what was the music at the start?
Thanks! The music from the start was from the UA-cam audio library, I think it was called The Awakening by Patrick Patrikios.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney ok thanks
Let's respect this mam for paying over my annual allowance. ( around more than 100) om londonds trains
Travel card?
Awesome video buddy, subscribed and liked for more
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your support.
Challenge on! I'll do this and post it on my channel
Good luck! Our time is almost certainly beatable, give it a go!
What about the other overground lines?
I guess we only really covered London Overground as a whole, not the individual lines - perhaps we’ll do that next time too.
All Lines Challenge
I think you forgot the riverboats lol
Hahahaha the riverboats need doing, but unfortunately you can't travel on them with a travelcard. We should have included it though. Hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes on this one and include them the next time we attempt the challenge!
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney ok :)
pretty sure you can use contactless or oyster idk tho
Amazing video! :)
Thanks!
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourneyNo problem!
westbound the train stops at liverpool street
What about London Northwestern Railway
LNWR weren't running south of Milton Keynes on the day that we did the challenge. If we do it again, we'd definitely include them.
This is the biggest achievement achieved in London! It’s just you didn’t go on the water loo and city line
It may very well be one of the most ambitious to complete in a day. Shame about W&C and LNWR too, I’d definitely like to redo sometime.
I wish I could do something like this
*pog* me and my friend MatStuff will do something similar to this
Haha do recommend it it's lots of fun!
That was a brilliant video, But you could have done better with door positions.
Yeah absolutely, we tried it again with better door positions several times and managed to greatly beat our record.
Welp, i guess missed that opportunity :(
I notice embankment is a curve platform
Indeed it is!
I'm going to try this tomorrow. Any tips? (Orher than don't trip)
1. Have a rigid plan so you can time your connections as well as you can. Try and stay ahead of it if you can.
2. Learn the stations with difficult interchanges between lines (eg. Waterloo, Charing Cross, Green Park) so you can eliminate them, or be more confident about the route.
3. Pack lots of water with you, you’ll need it.
4. Be prepared for lots of standing on trains and sprints among crowds of people. It’s going to be difficult.
5. Remember to start your timer as soon as you board the first train and stop as soon as you get off your last train.
Good luck!
c2c yes my favourite line
Lods of cr@ckhe@ds if your going to Southend on sea
Your videos are great, not being rude, but can you please make your camera not that shaky? 🎥
Apologies, I appreciate that the camera was a bit shaky, mainly due to all the running. When we did it again, I used a much more stable camera. Thanks for your feedback!
You guys went past my house
No London North Western???
London Northwestern (and the W&C line) were not running on the day we did this challenge - it’s difficult to find a day where every single line in London is running!
What's the number for 999
Call the Police my G
Welp, i guess i lost that opportunity :(
Opportunity for what?
Good Challenge, but I think you were a bit inefficient with your routing, especially going from the west to the east right at the end.
I agree, the routing could have been slightly better. The west to east we did at the end was purely because c2c is Aaron's way of transport home, and I realised it was the only line we hadn't done.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Did you do LNWR, Heathrow Express, GX or EMR as they are all on the London, Rail and Tube Services, especially LNWR which goes to Wembley.
@@CPTrains We didn't do HX, GX or EMR; although they're on the big map, they don't accept travelcards. LNWR and Avanti weren't running south of Milton Keynes Central on the day we did the challenge.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Ah, ok I might try this challenge myself, maybe starting at Upton Park.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney When you did the challenge in June, did you do LNWR?
what ticket did u use??
I used a London Travelcard ticket so that I wouldn’t get fined from the oyster barriers. They give you access to all of London for £13 and can be bought at most ticket machines
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney awesome thank u I'm visiting London for the first time and I have no clue what I am doing 😄
Rather shaky, but great effort.
Thanks! It's difficult to try and keep the camera stable whilst running amongst crowds as quickly as possible lol
