  • We have tested the 2.0 litre VW Tiguan Allspace and found it to be an excellent SUV with plenty of power and loads of fun. This time we take the lower specked 1.4 litre FWD only variant and make it climb the very same road - in fact this is our favourite hillclimb - See it for yourself, and share if you like our video.

    Enough power to climb to Genting, it takes corners very good and stable. Hope I can purchase Tiguan 1.4 for my family to travel from KL-Perlis-KL.

    so good to see this video. I was not sure about the engine. I eventually bought this car and I love it. I had a highline Golf 2 litre enging and I prefer the 7 seater Allaspace Life!!
    I drove 3,000km on an 8 day trip Melbourne to Sydney return via some towns and so forth, the car handled everything really well, superb!!

    This 1.4 Tsi engine is so energetic and makes overtaking a breeze even when going up the mountain. Great drive sir and totally showed how well this Tiguan handles and performs!

      Funny of Volkswagen. I can barely hear any outside sound in this video. In Passat or Arteon, so noisy. Wonder why VW has cut cost by not installing soundproofing materials for their expensive models. By right, the more expensive and higher segment car is, the more comfortable and quiet it should be. But this isn't the case in these two D segment sedans. Btw I've tested both these cars. Nothing much to complain on other aspects but NVH is Honda level. Toyota is very good. It's still weird that Tiguan has better NVH than Passat and Arteon

      @@royalprince5878 Maybe a change of tyres will do the trick. I did it to my CRV, and I got to say that a change to more premium and comfort biased tyres do make the ride more serene.

      @@nickloong I find VW choice of tyres are bad. Honda is smart. Drove Accord and Passat Elegance. Accord quieter road / tyre noise. Michelin Primacy 3 ST. That's very popular for low noise levels. Passat on the other hand with Continental MC5 so noisy. Came across a post on Passat B8 FB group someone changed to Michelin Primacy 4 (should be slightly quieter than 3 ST) and it seems it's far quieter. So you're right.

    • @royalprince5878
      @royalprince5878 3 роки тому

      @@nickloong Bridgestone Turanza T005A is also superior. Comfort, noise, handling and even fuel efficiency. Used by Camry. Even Ys Khong or Bobby Ang once said in a video that Turanza handles way better than Pirelli Cinterato P7 which is used by lower grade BMW models. Btw Passat R Line also uses P7 tyres and felt not comfort (btw 19" wheels can't expect much comfort), noisy also. Perhaps with better tyres, it would be more comfortable and who knows handle better.

    Well-spoken Uncle YS! If you can only drive a vehicle if it's equipped with A-Z "safety features", you shouldn't even drive! OK maybe that takes it a bit too far. Lol. But I agree about your sentiment. Even the law in our society is designed for "stupid people". If you are a mentally sound, logical, courteous & responsible adults, you should be able to differentiate what is right & wrong. If you are also the kind of adults I just described, you should have the liberty to take full control of the vehicle you are driving.

Am still contemplating whether or not to buy it, its rival Peugeot 5008 is pretty better looking with slightly better features. However, a friend of mine discouraged from getting Peugeot. I rather get me a RAV4 awd hybrid. Work colleague of mine got himself a RAV4 2wd hybrid and it uses less fuel than my 2017 1.2 turbo Polo and his RAV4 has a capped price service of $250 for five years! Whereas my Polo cost me 1st year - $460 2nd year - $650 3rd year - $760 4th year - $1,190!! Imagine that! It’s the cheapest Volkswagen model and they are robbing you blind. What will it cost you if you have a Golf, a Tiguan or a Passat. Bloody daylight robbery lah these matsaleh cars. I think you need to be "Sugar King” or a Sultan in order to be able to afford these angmoh cars hahaha....in saying if I kena Powerball 1st price of $30mil I’ll get me a AMG G63 hahaha....
