I always have to chime in with comments like this: "They forget the point of ASMR" is very insincere to say. It may not relax/put you to sleep, but it does other people. Some people cannot stand slow ASMR, while others can't deal with fast ASMR. It's all subjective and invalidating someone's ASMR video because you personally dislike it is rude.
Absolutely agree with NokoFace. The point of asmr isn't too only put people to sleep. People watch it for a variety of reasons. Like I watch to help calm my anxiety, to relax me, to help with sleep, as background noise while I'm doing something else, to distract my brain from obsessive thoughts and just for fun. I watch various types depending on what my mood is and why I'm watching it. Even when I'm going to sleep I often get bored with slow paced, no talking asmr. Majority of the videos I watch when going to bed contain talking and sometimes its only the faster paced asmr that does anything for me. Those other people you speak of did not forget the point of asmr, they just prefer something you don't. There is no right or wrong way to make it. There are plenty of content creators out there making all kinds of asmr that there's literally something there for everyone.
